FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Denver, Colorado, January 5, 2010 – Holme Roberts & Owen LLP (HRO) is pleased to
announce that associates Dawn MacKinnon and Alison Wadle and Senior Counsel Elizabeth
Meier have been elected to the partnership effective January 1, 2010. All three women bring
significant business savvy, as well as tremendous legal expertise, to their new roles as
partner. The fact that the newly elected partner class consists exclusively of women is as
unique as the women themselves. Each of the new partners has a distinct and interesting
background, affording them with a fresh and uncommon perspective.

Dawn MacKinnon is in HRO’s Real Estate, Development, Land Use and Financing Practice
Group, where she represents landlord and tenant clients in office and industrial leasing. She
has handled over $500 million in commercial/industrial property acquisitions and
dispositions nationally and manages borrower and lender lending transactions, hotel
acquisitions and retail. Before joining HRO, Ms. MacKinnon gained experience in a veritable
panoply of industries. She brings years of practical entrepreneurial and executive
experience in commercial sales and leasing, land development and sales, and ski property
sales to her legal practice. Ms. MacKinnon also owned a successful company and established
a start-up business. Ms. MacKinnon brings not only legal expertise to her clients, but also
sound business acumen.

Alison Wadle is also a member of the Real Estate, Development, Land Use and Financing
Practice Group, her practice concentrating on general commercial real estate, retail leasing
and secured lending. Ms. Wadle's legal background spans a wide and diverse range. She
began her legal career at a small, boutique firm which afforded her intensive, hands on legal
work as well as strong mentoring from seasoned legal veterans. She was also exposed to
examples of top notch community involvement, which ingrained in her the importance of
civic engagement. She also spent time at a large national firm with over 700 attorneys,
where she gained national real estate experience on much broader projects. At HRO, Alison
unites the strength and experience of both her previous firms, and continues to emphasize
her business counselor role. She has also furthered her passion for community involvement
by being active in economic and business development initiatives with the Downtown
Denver Partnership and specifically the Welton Corridor and Curtis Park redevelopments.

Elizabeth Meier practices in the Commercial Law and Securities Group, advising public and
private companies and private equity groups in industries including technology, healthcare,
and entertainment. She also handles corporate law and securities matters with emphasis on
representing strategic buyers and sellers in domestic and cross-border M&A; corporate
structuring and formation of joint ventures; drafting commercial contracts; and providing
advice regarding corporate governance and general corporate law matters. Before joining
HRO, Ms. Meier was an associate at an international law firm in their Washington D.C.
office. A fluent German speaker, Meier was a visiting attorney in the Düsseldorf office of the
German law firm Hengeler Mueller, participating in the German Academic Exchange
Service's (DAAD's) International Lawyers Program in 2002. At HRO, Ms. Meier co-founded
the highly successful Women in M&A Forum, which brings corporate women together to
discuss challenges and strategies in the M&A arena. The forum draws influential speakers
for six to seven events annually, hosting an average of 60-70 participants each.

“We congratulate all three new partners and are proud to celebrate their accomplishments."
HRO managing partner Ken Lund said. "Their elevation to the partnership speaks to our
client-directed growth strategy, which is a sound and deliberate HRO business practice. We
identify specific needs—nationally and internationally—and work to fill them with the right
mix of knowledge, experience, and talent.”

HRO welcomes the three new partners, touting their achievements as attorneys and as
business women.
