THE RULING PLANETS ARE :
DAY LORD JUP.
MOON .. Ven Sun Rah
ASCEN.. Mar ( Ven Rah) not considered in 4 step
1. THREE KP AYANAMSAS
1.1. There are three KP Ayanamsas, namely
i) Original or Old KP Ayanamsa,
ii) KP Straight Line Ayanamsa , and
iii) New KP Ayanamsa.
2. ORIGNAL OR OLD KP AYANAMSA (OKPA)
2.1. This is Ayanamsa given by Guruji KSK in K.P. Reader I. Based on 291 A.D as the year of coincidence
of both Sayana and Nirayana zodiacs or the year of zero ayanamsa and the annual precession rate of
Newcombs 50.2388475 sec per year, the ayanamsa values for the year 1840 to 2001 were given in deg.
and min. only. The formula was not given and for years beyond 2001 the Newcombs rate is to be added
per year to the ayanamsa for 2001. The K.P. Ayanamsa values are usually given in K.P. ephemeris, for
instance for the year 1900 to 2040 in Krishnamurtis Nirayana Ephemeris 1961-1970 by Mahabala.
2.2. Formula for the OKPA given by Mr. Neville Lang (developer of Astracadabra)
OKPA = B + [T* P + (T*T * A)]/ 3600
where,
B = Base = 22 + 1320 / 3600 (22d:22m:00s for 1 Jan 1900, @00:00 UT)
T = Y-1900, Y= Calendar year for which ayanamsa is required
P = Annual precession rate of Newcombs 50.2388475 sec per year
A = Annual precession rate adjustment of 0.000111 sec per year (included for proper "fit" of the values
given originally in K.P. Reader I)
2.3. The Old KP Ayanamsa was presumed to be constant for the full calendar year. However, the
Krishnamurti Ayanamsa values for the Year 1861 to 2103 in deg., min., sec. and a Table of Ayanamsa for
Any Day of the Year given in Astrological Tables for All by Shri Eshwara Manu published with the
blessing of Guruji KSK are supposed to support a manual calculation of the Old KP Ayanamsa value
correct to seconds and for any date in the calendar year. Nowadays it may be a common practice in
most astrological SWs to use the OKPA value for any date in the calendar year by applying T as
decimal year in the form of Year in the above Mr. Neville Langs formula.
2.4. Late American Astrologer Richard Houck said that the ayanamsha (in his word) values used in his
book (The Astrology of Death, 1994) --- are generally within about a minute of the popular Krishnamurti
ayanamsha. (Ayanamsha values for the year 1900 to 2000 in deg., min., sec. are given in pages 40-41 of
his book eg. 22d:22m:45s for 1900, 23d:04m:17s for 1950, 23d:46m:01s for 2000.)
2.5. In Dr. Jagdish Maheshris KP based book, Its All in Timing, 1977, the Old KP Ayanamsa is
calculated as per the above formula in 2.2 with the same Base B and T but different P = 50.2564
and A = 0.000222, which are similar to the Lahiri Ayanamsa calculation in 3.2. (Formula is given in page
31 of his book.)
2.6. It is worthy to know from Mr. Neville Lang that if a precession rate value is not equal to Newcombs
50.2388475 sec (eg. 50.2564 in Dr. Jagdish Maheshris formula), then the annual precession rate
adjustment value A commonly used is 0.000222.
2.7. The Old KP Ayanamsa is used as the correct ayanamsa in Mr. Umang Tanejas KP book, Nadi
Astrology, Accurate Predictive Methodology, 2002 and ayanamsa values are given in pages 190-192.
2.8. The Old KP Ayanamsa used by late Shri Chandrakant R. Bhatt is given for the year 1901 to 2000 in
his book, Further Lights on Nakshatra Chintaman, 1980, page 249.
2.9. After the adoption of the New KP Ayanamsa in the K.P. & Astrology magazine 2003, the Original KP
Ayanamsa has been known as the Old KP Ayanamsa.
3. LAHIRI AYANAMSA (LAHIRI)
3.1. While the controversy of the correct Ayanamsa was going on, the Lahiri Ayanamsa was adopted in
the Universal Table of Houses (UTOH), though not so stated. (Thanks to Shri Raichur, co-author of the
UTOH, for clarification.)
3.2. Lahiri Ayanamsa Formula
(as in the UTOH given by Shri K. Hariharan in Notable Persons & KP, pages 75, 138, 153)
LAHIRI = B + [T* P + (T*T * A)]/ 3600
where
B = Base = 80890.1535 sec = 22d:28m:10s @ 1 Apr 1900
T = Y-1900, Y= Calendar year for which ayanamsa is required
P = 50.2564 (for 1900) (Annual precession rate as per modern astronomy)
A = 0.000222 sec per year (Annual precession rate adjustment)
Note: 285 A.D is taken as the year of zero ayanamsa.
3.3. Referring Shri Lahiris statement, Shri Kuppu Ganapathi has explained about 3 sec. difference
between True and Mean values of the Lahiri Ayanamsa, eg for 1 Jan 1990 Lahiri Ayanamsa: True value
(after taking into account of the Nirayana Longitude of Rahu) is 22d:27m:59s and Mean value is
22d:27m:56s). Such a small difference may not affect any calculation even up to Sub Sub Sub level.
4. KP STRAIGHT LINE AYANAMSA (KPSTLA)
4.1. It is known from Shri Raichur that there was a lot of discussion on the old KP ayanamsa in K.P. &
Astrology magazine, mostly by Shri M.G.G. Nair and others. But the editor simply barred the discussion,
and Sri K.M. Subramaniam of Sub Lord Speaks" just would not change his views on 2 figures as given
by Guruji KSK, i.e. year 291 A.D. of zero ayanamsa and Newcombs rate of 50.2388475 sec. So a
straight line simple formula was assumed using those two figures, though Guruji KSK never said so.
4.2. KP Straight Line Ayanamsa Formula
(provided by Dr. Rangarajan Krishnamoorthy, developer of KPAstro 2.7)
KPSTLA = T*P/3600
where
T = Y- 291 (Year of zero ayanamsa)
Y= Calendar year for which ayanamsa is required
P = 50.2388475 sec per year (Newcombs annual precession rate)
4.3. The KP Straight Line Ayanamsa such calculated up to any date in the calendar year by using T in
the above formula as fractional/decimal year taking days between given date and 15th April is called KP
Straight Line (Adjusted) Ayanamsa.
4.4. In Shri Raichurs view, the Newcombs rate is to use only for finding the ayanamsa beyond 2000 and
not from the year 291 A.D. as some have incorrectly presumed. The assumption of a constant precession
rate is not valid and a correction is made once in 100 years. This correction factor is given by Lahiri, by
Surya Siddhanta, and by the New KPA formula in 2003. This straight line ayanamsa value does not
match the figures given by Guruji KSK himself, in his KP Reader I (original edition) for 1840 to 2000,
year by year.
4.5. The KP Straight Line Ayanamsa value is different from the Old KP Ayanamsa about 5-6 min.(as
shown in 6) despite the application of the original year 291 and Newcombs rate. The exclusion of the
base B is the mathematical reason for this difference. Another exclusion of the precession rate
adjustment factor is supposed to be affected after a long time since its effect is accelerating from 1.11
sec. for 100 years to 4.44 sec. for 200 years, 9.99 sec. for 300 years etc.
4.6. Surprisingly the KP Straight Line Ayanamsa value is so close to the Lahiri Ayanamsa (as shown in 6)
that it looks like the Lahiri Ayanamsa in the articles, which used this straight line ayanamsa, in the old
K.P. & Astrology magazines. Some KP astrologers could make correct predictions by using this straight
line ayanamsa. In some astrological books of a new theory, this straight line ayanamsa is used but
misnamed as the New KP Ayanamsa and misstated its closeness to the Old KP Ayanamsa perhaps due to
the misunderstanding of the UTOH ayanamsa as the Old KP Ayanamsa but in reality the UTOH
ayanamsa is the Lahiri Ayanamsa as mentioned in 3.1.
4.6. It is worthy to learn from Shri Raichur that the small difference in ayanamsa used by various KP
astrologers need not bother a new comer unduly. The important elements in KP are the star lord and
the sublod. In almost all cases, a slight change in the ayanamsa does not change these important
elements. A new comer should go to the essentials, rather than worry about the technicalities of
ayanamsa. In fact, The Times of Astrology magazine publishes articles, which use the Lahiri Ayanamsa,
with a difference of 6 min. approximately from the KP Ayanamsa, and the KP system of division. It has
been found that in almost all cases, except borderline cases, the Star/Sub Lords are the same as the
ones with the accurate KP ayanamsas. The Sub-Sub lord will change, as it is more sensitive.
4.7. However, a 5 min. difference in ayanamsa value will make a difference in dasa balance at birth from
13.5 days for Sun dasa to 45 days for Venus dasa through Moon position. Such difference will affect
the timing of event at Sookshma level as has been found in Kanak Bosmias research study mentioned in
7.2.
5. NEW KP AYANAMSA (NKPA)
5.1. New KP Ayanamsa Formula
(given by Prof. K. Balachandran in KP & Astrology magazine 2003, pages 88-89)
NKPA = B + [T* P + (T*T * A)]/ 3600
where
B = 22+1350/3600 = 22-22-30 @ 15 Apr 1900
P = 50.2388475 (Newcombs annual precession rate)
A = 0.000111 sec per year (Annual precession rate adjustment)
Note: 23 March, 291 A.D. is assumed as date of zero ayanamsa
5.2. It is known from Shri Kuppu Ganapathi that a similar formula was also given by Shri M.G. G. Nair
who had questioned the Newcombs rate and desired a correction for this.
5.2. As Shri Raichur explains, after a lot of discussions, letters etc., the correct KP Ayanamsa had been
fixed by Prof. Balachandran, and was published in the KP & Astrology magazine 2003, pages 92-93,
together with Guruji KSKs second son and magazine editor K. Subramaniums declaration that the values
of ayanamsa published supersedes all the previous Tables of ayanamsa published in K. P. Reader I and all
ephemeris (Krishman & Co.), K.P.T.O.H. and H.T.O.H. etc.
5.3. There is not any significant difference between the Old and New KPAs. The New KPA gives a
formula for calculating the ayanamsa correct to seconds and for any date in the calendar. The formulas
for New and Old KPAs in 2.2 and 5.1 are basically the same, except the base B is taken up to seconds
in the New KPA.
5.5. The difference between NKPA and LAHIRI
i) The year of zero ayanamsa is 291 A.D. for NKPA and 285 A.D. for LAHIRI;
ii) The annual precession rate is Newcombs 50.2388475 sec for NKPA and 50.2564 sec for LAHIRI as
per modern astronomy;
iii) The annual precession rate adjustment is 0.000111 for NKPA and 0.000222 for LAHIRI;
iv) The difference in value is about 5-6 min. (as shown in 6) depending on the year under consideration
due to different annual precession rate and annual precession rate adjustment factor.

7. SOME OBSERVATIONS
7.1. Shri Raichur says that ultimately, it is not a question which ayanamsa is correct, but 'using KP which
ayanamsa gives us the more accurate predictions?
7.2. It has been found in the KP researcher Kanak Bosmias study on around 120 life events of 15 AA
rated charts that the New KP Ayanamsa is working better than Lahiri Ayanamsa in the application of KP
rules, especially at the Sookshma, fourth dasa level. This finding is consistent with the following saying.
7.3. There is a saying that the KP Ayanamsa is more accurate for Vimshottari dasa and the Lahiri
Ayanamsa for division charts.
However, in a comparative review of
8 ayanamsas (Mod
Yukt.,Yukteshwar, Raman, Krishnamurti, Lahiri, Rosicrucian, Fag-Bradley, Deluce), the Krishnamurti
Ayanamsa, the closest one to Lahri Ayanamsa (except Rosicrucian which is almost the same as Lahiri), is
the only one ayanamsa which gives all the same Jaiminis Karakas, Navamsha, Saptamsha, Dwadashamsha
and finer divisions of Chaturvimshamsha (1/24), Shashtyamsha (1/60) like the Lahiri Ayanamsa. (K.N.
Rao: Timing Events Through Vimshottari Dasha, 1996, Preface to the Second Edition)
7.4. In a study of comparing ayanamsa (Lahiri, Raman and Chandrahari) on the case of Rabindra Tagore,
a Vedic astrologer concluded that the real ayanamsa should be between the Lahiri and Raman
Ayanamsas. In fact, the KP Ayanamsa is between the Lahiri and Raman Ayanamsas(as shown in 6).
8. CONCLUSION
8.1. Needless to say, nowadays KP followers and KP SWs are using the New KP Ayanamsa adopted in
2003. It can be useful for other astrologers too like the Lahiri Ayanamsa.
8.2. The choice of Ayanamsa (out of around 30 available) is up to the preference of an astrologer
finding best for him and there is no need to discuss the correctness of ayanamsa which may depend on
the rules applied by different schools of thought.

Number 1 To 27 is based on Nakstra. For example, one gives us number 7. 7 belongs to Punarvasu
Nakshtra and its Nakshtrapati is JUP. Punarvasu comes in Mithun rasi; so Asc becomes MER-JUP-JUPJUP , if someone says number 3, it means Nakshtra is Krittika and Nakshtrapati is SUN. Kritika comes
in both Rasi Mesh and Vrishabh; but we take only the starting point. So we take Asc as MAR-SUN-SUNSUN.

Later, Dr Kar wrote some more about number selection that one can select any number and then
decided which number he wants to follow. For example, someone gives us number 5000 and we want to
start our work with sub sub then we have to deduct 2193 from 5000, 5000-2193 = 2807, more than
2193 so again deduct 2193 = so number found is 614. But in my experience this type of number selection
does not work. The reader may try and follow according to his personal experience.
How to get answer?
We have to check three conditions as below. There is no special rule to give more importance to any of
the rules; but we follow with majority answer. If we found two yes, our answer is Yes; if we found two
NOs, our answer is NO. Note that there is no room for sign and sub in TSP. Calculate Planetary position
for 5.30 a.m whether you are in Ahmedabad or Andaman, Cochin or Kashmir - because we have fixed Asc
with us and we dont need any more calculations for other cusps. Planetary position for 5.30 a.m. is same
all over in India. Main deciding factor in TSP is Asc sub sub lord.
1) Note down sub sub lord of Asc sub sub lord. (Horary sub sub lord A is in the sub sub of planet B,
in this case B is deciding factor). Now tally Planet B with Moon star lord or sub sub lord. If
tallies (in other words, if B is star lord or sub sub lord of the MOON) the answer is YES. If not,
check with Asc star lord and sub sub lord, if tallies (in other words, if B is star lord or sub sub
lord of Asc.) the answer is YES.
2) Note down F-1, star lord if Asc sub sub lord. (Planet A is in the star of B, Please read detailed
article by the same author in Feb-Mar 2007 KP Ezine issue). Now tally planet B with the Moon
star lord or sub sub lord. If tallies (in other words, if B is star lord or sub sub lord of the
MOON) the answer is in YES. If not, check with Asc star lord and sub sub lord. If tallies (in
other words, if B is star lord or sub sub lord of Asc.) the answer is in YES.
3) Lastly check with F-3, (Planet Asub sub lord of Ascis in the sub sub of planet B. Planet B is
in the star of Planet C. In this case, Planet C is the deciding factor). Now tally Planet C with
Moon star lord or sub sub lord. If tallies (in other words, if C is star lord or sub sub lord of
MOON) the answer is YES. If not, tally with Asc star lord and sub sub lord. If tallies (in other
words, if C is star lord or sub sub lord of Asc.) the answer is YES.
Role of Node in TSP.
If Node becomes a deciding Factor (If in Rule 1, B; in rule 2, B and, in Rule 3, C is Node), then we
have to check the Planet whose agent is the Node in below condition:
A: Star lord of the Node; B: sign lord of the Node; C: Conjoined Planet; D: planet who aspects the node.
If any one of A, B, C, D becomes the star lord or sub sub lord of the Moon or star lord or sub sub
lord of Asc., the answer is YES.
Special Rules
1) If sub sub lord of Asc is Moon, the result is always positive.
2) If Moon is in the star of Sat and the Moon is aspected by Sat itself, the result becomes
Negative i.e. NO. If Sat-Moon are conjoined but connected with the sun by way of conjunction,
star or aspect, result comes in a delayed way.
3) If sub sub lord of Asc is equal to Moon star lord or Asc star lord, the result is always positive
i.e. YES.
Note from Author: if we select number from 1 to 27 always Asc sub sub lord and star lord
is the same, so there is no value of this rule and I request the readers not to use this
rule blindly.
4) There is no room for retrograde planet in TSP.
In TSP there are no complicated rules, no too many rules; so if one has 5.30 a.m. planetary position with
him and someone asks question, and then he can answer using 1 to 9 or 1 to 27 numbers Asc within a
second.
Now I want to give you detailed examples for each rule. Rules 1 to 3 are common. So I shall discuss all
the three at a time, using numbers 1 to 9, 1 to 249, 1 to 2193. I never use number 1 to 27. So I dont
have any example for it.
With number 1 To 2193. With all three rules

1) Note down sub sub lord of Asc sub sub lord. (Horary sub sub lord A is in the sub sub of planet B,
in this case B is the deciding factor). Now tally Planet B with Moon Star lord or Sub sub lord. If
tallies (in other words, if B is star lord or sub sub lord of the MOON) the answer is YES. If not,
check with Asc star lord and sub sub lord, if tallies (in other words, if B is the star lord or sub
sub lord of Asc.) the answer is YES.
Sub sub lord of Asc is Mar. Mar is in the sub sub of VEN. VEN is not the star lord or sub sub
lord of the Moon or Ascmeans answer is negative = NO.
2) Note down F-1, Star lord if Asc sub sub lord. (Planet A is in the star of B, Please read detailed
article by the same author in Feb-Mar 2007 KP Ezine issue). Now tally planet B with Moon Star
lord or Sub sub lord. If tallies (in other words, if B is the star lord or sub sub lord of the
MOON), the answer is YES. If not, check with Asc star lord and sub sub lord, if Tallies (in other
words, if B is star lord or sub sub lord of Asc.) the answer is YES.
Sub sub lord of Asc is Mar. Mar is in the star of Ket, Ket is not the star lord or sub sub lord of
the Moon or Asc; but here we found a Node. So we have to check the planet whose agent is the
node. Ketu is in sign of SUN and star of VEN, Conjoined with SAT (SAT is retro but in TSP
there is no room for retrograde Planet). The SUN is star lord of the MOON. Hence the answer
is positive = YES.
3) Lastly check with F-3, (Planet Asub sub lord of Ascis in the sub sub of planet B, Planet B is
in the star of Planet C. In this case, Planet C is the deciding factor) Now tally Planet C with
Moon Star lord or Sub sub lord. If tallies (in other words, if C is star lord or sub sub lord of the
MOON) the answer is YES. If not, tally with Asc star lord and sub sub lord. If tallies (in other
words, if C is star lord or sub sub lord of Asc.) the answer is YES.
Sub sub lord of Asc is Mar. Mar is in the sub sub of VEN, Ven is in the star of MOON. The
MOON is not star lord or sub sub lord of Moon or Asc. Means negative answer = NO.
Result: out of three two conditions are negative. So I predicted NO and actually she did
not get number within 1 to 5.

With all three rules

tallies (in other words, if B is star lord or sub sub lord of the MOON) the answer is YES. If not,
check with Asc star lord and sub sub lord, if tallies (in other words, if B is the star lord or sub
sub lord of Asc.) the answer is YES.

The Query
My mind was focused to know the status of train arrival. Look to the position of Moon, which appears in
3-7-11th cusp indicating travel and meeting family on arrival. Thus, the mental focus on the query was
represented in the prashna chart. Hence, it was OK to proceed for analyzing the query.
Look for the promise of fructification of event, which would be possible, if the 11th cusp links to
the required cusps. Here, 11th sub-lord Moon is also the sub-lord of 3rd and 7th cusps. Since, the
Moon is placed in its own sub, the results repeat and the meeting with the family was indicated.
Whether the train arrival shall be in time or late etc shall be examined by the 11th cuspal sub-lord.
Here, Moon is the sub-lord of the 11th cusp and falls in its own star and hold the sub-lordship of 3rd
cusp. Thus, it was concluded that the train should be near to its scheduled time or even beforetime.
At the time of prashna, Moon was transiting in Venus (Sign lord), Moon (Star lord), Venus (sub-lord)
and Jupiter (Sub-sub lord). While, there is no planet in the star of Jupiter, Ketu falls in the star of
Venus and Mercury falls in the star of Moon. Thus, the position of Moon is jointly governed by
Venus-Moon-Jupiter-Ketu-Mercury. Here, Ketu disposes Sun (Sign lord) and Venus (Star lord) in
which it transits.
From the 11th cusp, the indication of train reaching near to its scheduled time is indicated. Since,
the scheduled time for the arrival of train was 1250Hrs IST, I checked up the Lagna to transit
around that time as follows.
Leo Lagna was to start at 1209 Hrs.
Lagna was to transit in Ketus star from 1209 Hrs to 1259 Hrs.
Till now, it was OK as both Sun and Ketu represented Moons position at prashna time.
Lagna was to transit in Sun-Ketu-Jupiter from 1242 to 1249 Hrs. This was taken OK, as Jupiter was
the sub-sub lord of Moon at prashna time.
Within the span of Jupiters sub, following sub-sub were scheduled to run.
Sun-Ketu-Jupiter-Mercury: 12-43-13 Hrs to 12-44-15 Hrs
Sun-Ketu-Jupiter-Ketu
: 12-44-15 Hrs to 12-44-41 Hrs
Sun-Ketu-Jupiter-Venus : 12-44-41 Hrs to 12-45-53 Hrs
It occurred to me that the train was to arrive during one of the above time slot; hence I left at
this point.
I reached station in time and observed the visibility of engine reaching the platform at 12 45 Hrs.
My intention to look at this case from Moons position at the prashna time is an experiment for the first
time. May be, this method requires some more fine-tuning for its general acceptability. Readers may try
out it on larger platform.

Success is the ability to go from one, failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

Introduction
In the science of astrology there are often situations when the direction of the outcome is
more important than the inherent attribute of the outcome itself. Clients and querists may be more
interested to know in which side the result is going to be tilted rather than the innate happenings in the
outcome. For example, people might be interested to know whether the person will win or lose, whether
a person will live or die, whether a person will get the job or not, or whether his country will win in the
game or not. These are all situations where the expected results have a binomial outcome. In other
words, an astrologer may have to answer questions where the querist is only interested to know whether
the answer is favorable to him or not; that is, whether the answer is Yes or No. The querist is not
interested to know when, how or why such outcome will happen simply because he has a clear
indication of these factors in his mind and therefore, he has no innate urge to know these from the
astrologer. For example, a minister contesting an election may simply be interested to know whether he
is going to win or his opponent is going to win. His focal interest lies in knowing a Yes or No for himself.
It is primarily for the above situations that late Dr. (Pandit) Kesav Ranjan Kar from Bolani,
Orrisa invented and provided the astrological community with his Theory of Short Predictions (TSP).
The first article on TSP was published in the KP Yearbook 2002 and then in the years 2003 and 2004 a
few more articles were published by Dr. Kar on the same method. The fundamental philosophical basis
of TSP is rooted in the concept of binomial predictions without any focus in root cause analysis. Dr. Kar
gave TSP to the astrological community to answer questions which have a definite Yes or No type of
outcomes. His TSP was neither meant to check the honesty of the querist, nor give any reason for the
outcome or the timing of the event. The epistemological basis of TSP rules out the possibility of
addressing these issues also which perfectly justifies the applicability of this method. In other words,
it would be fallacious on the part of querists or astrologers to try to find out the genuinity of the
query, or the timing of the event or the reason behind the outcome. Dr. Kars method of TSP is designed
to answer yes or no type of questions.
In the last few months the editor of this esteemed magazine, Shri Kanak B. Bosmia, has made a
very commendable and laudable effort in making predictions of World Cup Cricket 2007 cricket
matches through the application of the TSP method. Shri Bosmias effort is commendable and laudable
because not only he used a technique which is new in approach but he also posted his prediction publicly
along with his analysis on an internet forum for public appraisal and scrutiny. Shri Bosmia has shown the
courage that many practioners of astrology may dare to show due to fear of losing face over wrong
prediction. But our esteemed editor has taken a lot of pains and immense courage to provide predictions
of all the 51 matches of the World Cup Cricket 2007.
Shri Bosmias predictions are very important to us for three reasons. Firstly, he is the only one
person in this whole world who has consistently offered unequivocal predictions on world cup cricket
this year based on the TSP method. Secondly, he has given clear logic behind all his predictions openly
and publicly thereby giving the scope to the scientific minded people to take up future research in TSP.
His 51 predictions form a very important repository of TSP based predictions. Lastly, and most
importantly Shri Bosmias all 51 predictions were based on the same set of rules of TSP but results
varied. This proves that neither Dr. Kars rules are wrong nor that Shri Bosmia made any wrong
application. And this brings us to conclude that if TSP rules, as provided by Dr. Kar is correct and its
uniform application in 51 cases have also been mantained then there is something that is yet to be
discovered.
It is solely for this last reason that I have done this small, exploratory research on the 12
failed predictions that were attempted through TSP. The main purpose of this article is to support
Shri Bosmia in his effort to strengthen the TSP method. The aim of this article is to complement
the effort of Shri Bosmia in identifying the common pattern or thread present in the 12 failed
predictions. This article is meant to identify certain issues that may be found common across the
12 failed predictions of world cup cricket matches.
This article therefore, may help future researchers in the area of TSP to look in to various
undiscovered issues which Dr. Kar may have given to us had not his untimely demise in 2004 deprived us
of a great mind in KP astrology. The findings of this research initiative of mine does not challenge
any fundamental tenets of TSP as advocated by Dr. Kar and applied by Shri Bosmia, but it
provides insights in certain issues for further structured research to be taken up in the area of
TSP.
My Kudos to Shri Kanak ji for his untiring efforts in the field of KP astrology in general and TSP
in particular. This research initiative would not have happened had Kanak ji not made all his 51
predictions boldly like a true scientist along with his personal encouragement and guidance that I
received whenever I faced any difficulty with TSP.
Objective of this Study
By virtue of positivist scientific reasoning and logic, if a rule, A holds true in 100 situations then
it must also hold true in the 101st situation assuming that there has been no deviation in its mode of
application and the rule remains unaltered. If rule A, after holding true in 100 situations fail in the 101st
situation, then on the assumptions made above, we need to reexamine rule A once again before we can
take it as an infallible rule (Bryman, 2001). On similar logic it was observed that all the 51 world cup
cricket match predictions provide to us by Shri Bosmia, the same rules of TSP were applied diligently in
all the 51 cases. However, only 12 actual match results were different than that of the prediction made.
Now if 39 matches yield correct result with the same set of TSP rules applied equally, then logically we
can conclude that there is some missing link in the present state of rules.
The objective of this research is to attempt an exploratory study to find out the
commonalities, if any, present in the set of 12 predictions of world cup that did not yield
consistent result. In other words, the objective of this research is to see what common factors are
found across these 12 predictions. This study therefore, does not offer any new rule in TSP but paves
the way for future researchers to take up new research initiatives based on these findings.
Data Collection
The data for this study was collected from the email messages that were publicly available to
me as a member of an internet forum on KP astrology. These email messages were the predictions made
by Shri Kanak Bosmia for all the 51 cricket matches along with the rules that he consistently followed.
All the 51 messages were copied and pasted in a word document that served as the initial repository of
data. Later, 12 messages were identified where the actual match outcome was different from that of
the predicted one. These were further validated through the official roster of ICC.
Data Analysis
Firstly, the data on the 12 matches were rechecked for the horary number and the ascendant
cuspal positions that were originally used. Secondly, the planetary positions were rechecked for 5:30
AM (IST) at the Indian Meridian (82E30) for the days on which the analysis was originally attempted.
These two were considered important in order to ensure that there is no noisy data and that there is no
data in our data set that do not strictly adhere to the Day Rise Planetary Effect (DRPE) principle of Dr.
Kar.
simple reason that horary number beyond specified limits goes against the philosophical basis of
Prahsna charts.
Scope for Further Research
Shri Kanak Bosmia ji has created a very good repository of datasets for TSP based on his 51
predictions of World Cup Cricket 2007. This research would not have been possible had Shri Bosmia not
placed all his predictions on the internet. What we need today is more number of predictions based on
TSP, which would be available for systematic research.
The findings from this study needs to be reexamined in the light of more number of TSP based
predictions both successful and failed in order to ensure that the astrological community is better
equipped to help mankind. Even though TSP is based on a few basic rules that was offered to us after
some amount of research, we need to take TSP further and try to make it as rigorous as possible. We
should not forget that the inventor of KP astrology, Shri K.S. Krishnamurti practiced and researched
horary with 108 for decades and threw it out after he found that 249 gives better results. I will not
conclude anything in this article because no research is ever conclusive. We need to keep on perfecting
our knowledge through trials, errors and constant observation.

Connection of Mars everywhere indicate that the delivery will not be normal. Surgery is indicated.
Result:
I was anxious to know as the date was approaching near to 19th April. The doctor told me on 14th that
the patient is having delivery pains and she will be admitted for normal delivery on 14th night. However,
I asked again on 14th and she told that the pain came down and patient is taking rest at her house and
not having indications of delivery. Again on 18th morning she phoned and confirmed that suddenly BP of
the patient went up and she is admitted for delivery and after giving prolonged trials, the patient finally
was OPERATED on early hours of 19th April.
As seen from this case, it clearly indicates how beautifully the chart speaks about the doctor and
patient both. It also proves that if a question is asked with the real urge the divine guidance will never
fail. KP system is competent to answer any type of the question, any time; anywhere provided the desire
is genuine.
I would like to Congratulate Kanak Ji once again for bringing this new concept of e-Magazine to the
world of astrology and providing a platform to KP astrologers spread over different parts of the globe
to share their ideas.
I conclude this article with offering prayers to Guruji Sri K.S.Krishnamurti Ji to show us the right path.
Good luck

KP ACTIVITY
Report on KP Astrologers Forum, India
For the first time India, a knowledge generation and sharing forum has been created in the field of
astrology. The forum, based in Hyderabad, is a unique endeavor to integrate and institutionalize
astrological knowledge, especially in the field of Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP), but is also open to
traditional techniques in astrology.
KPAF started with the initiative of two individuals, Sri Rajendra Nimje, IAS, and his friend Dr. V. V. K.
Mohan. The Forum was inaugurated on 17th December 2006 at Taj Belson Hotel in Secunderabad and
currently there are more than 50 regular members who attend, discuss and contribute astrological
knowledge in the fortnightly meetings held on every second and fourth Sundays. The forum also has
members from Europe and the US on its yahoo group (kpastrologers@yahoogroups.com) who also
regularly send in their comments and views apart from members spread all over the country. Recently,
the Governing Body has been formed for KPAF, which would be responsible for the administration of
the Forum in a more structured manner.
The activities of the KPAF include discussion on various rules found in the classical texts of KP and new
rules based on research. In every fortnightly meeting, pre-decided blind charts, live case studies,
unique charts are actively discussed and the views and opinions of the members are documented. Senior
astrologers from the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad are invited regularly for guest
lectures to add more value to these meetings.
On, 22nd March 2007, the website of Astrouser (www.astrouser.com) and Astro 3 astrology software
was launched by the former head of the department of astrology of Telegu University, Sri C.
Subramanyam ji. The inaugural ceremony was attended by more than 100 guests along with regular
members. Demonstration of the software was also provided by the developer, Sri Rajendra Nimje and
was well taken by one and all. Demo CDs were also distributed to members.
The KPAF has shown the astrological fraternity the need for unified effort in knowledge generation,
dissemination and documentation. With doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants, bankers,
professors and businessmen as its regular members, the forum clearly shows how elated minds have
united to bring back to astrology its lost glory. With the publication of the forums annual journal due at
the end of this year, the astrological fraternity will immensely benefit from a rich basket of applied
knowledge.
Launch of Astrouser and Astro 3
Delegate fee includes registration charges, lunches, dinner, tea, kit bag and session
