1. INTRODUCTION
1.1Purpose of The Quality Management Plan
The Quality Management Plan documents the necessary information required to effectively
manage project quality from project planning to delivery. It defines a projects quality
policies, procedures, criteria for and areas of application, and roles, responsibilities and
authorities.
The Quality Management Plan is created during the Planning Phase of the project and is
considered a component of the Project Management Plan. Its intended audience is the
project manager, project team, project sponsor and any senior leaders whose support are
needed to carry out the plan.
1.2 Product Introduction
The FLEX-6700R Signature Series software defined receiver is built for the most demanding, receiving
applications where ultimate performance is key. The FLEX-6700R receiver is built on a digital direct
sampling receiver foundation. By removing analog mixers and components, the FLEX-6700R provides an
ultra-quiet receiving platform for the most demanding applications.
With dual spectral capture units (SCUs), the FLEX-6700R allows multiple active antennas and provides
reception and unprecedented spectrum visibility across up to eight panadapters and waterfalls. The
FLEX-6700Rs multi-stage RF Preamplifiers enhance weak signal reception up through the VHF bands.
This coupled with the incredible realtime DSP processing capability inside the radio, allow the operator
to view signals well below the noise floor while effectively eliminating adjacent interference.
At the heart of the FLEX-6700R is FlexRadios SmartSDR. This is the dawn of High Definition (HD) visual
radio -- Radios that see as well as they hear. A decade ago FlexRadio Systems pioneered SDR for the
amateur radio market and set the standard for visual radio interaction. Today, SmartSDR sets a new bar
for visual radio display and control. Following the simple is better rule, we built a new graphical
interface that is easy to learn and use. Multiple high-definition, real-time spectral displays are at the
heart of the SmartSDR experience. Intuitive controls are hiddeen from view to minimize clutter yet are
instantly available when needed.
SmartSDR is built from the ground up optimized for network bandwidth and control. By placing key
processing elements inside the radio hardware, SmartSDR can reduce the amount of data transmitted
over the Ethernet network that connects the radio to the client software. Because of the concentration
of data tha occurs before data is sent to the client, SmartSDR performs seamlessly in network situations
where other radios simply can not perform. SmartSDRs networking capabilities, now and in the future,
will enable use in the shack, across the house or around the world.

3 PROJECT QUALITY MANAGEMENT

At the highest of levels Quality Management involves planning, doing, checking, and acting to
improve project quality standards. PMI PMBOK breaks the practice of Quality Management into
three process groups: Quality Planning (QP), Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC). The
following sections define how this project will apply each of these practice groups to define,
monitor and control quality standards.
3.1 QUALITY PLANNING
[Identify which quality standards are relevant to the project and how to satisfy them. Identify and
define appropriate quality metrics and measures for standards for project processes, product
functionality, regulatory compliance requirements, project deliverables, project management
performance, documentation, testing, etc. Identifies the acceptance criteria for project
deliverables and product performance]

3.1.1 Define Project Quality
[Identify quality standards and expectations for customers, the project, organization and federal
regulations, define customer and project goals, quality standards, critical success factors, and
metrics for which to measure success, and outline acceptance criteria for project deliverables and
product performance.]
3.1.2 Measure Project Quality
[Identify desired metrics and related monitoring processes for which to measure quality standard,
develop a plan for measuring quality, define methods of data collection and archiving, and
document timeframe for measurement and metrics reporting.]
3.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE
[Identify and define those actions, and the metrics to measure them, that provide the confidence
that project quality is in fact being met and has been achieved. Relate these actions to the quality
standards defined in the planning section of this document.]
3.2.1 Analyze Project Quality
[Analyze quality data, document opportunities for improvement and apply what was learned
from quality analysis to eliminate gaps between current and desired levels of performance.]
3.2.2 Improve Project Quality
[Identify ways of doing things better, cheaper, and/or faster. For projects, identify ways of
eliminating unsatisfactory performance.]
3.3 QUALITY CONTROL
[Identify those monitoring and controlling actions that will be conducted to control quality
throughout the projects life. Define how it will be determined that quality standards comply with
the defined standards outlined earlier in this document. Identify owners of ongoing monitoring
and improvement of project processes.]
