Activity Time
This week we are going to focus on practicing the under the sea vocabulary and using it within full
sentences.
Activities and Games:
This week we are going to play bingo using under the sea vocabulary.
We will play some rounds of Pictionary where the students are split into two teams and a member from
each team takes turns to draw a sea animal on the white board while the others guess. They must use
the correct sentence to obtain the point i.e. Is it an octopus? Yes, it is an octopus.
We will also play some rounds of hangman to reinforce spelling of the vocabulary and prepare the
students for an upcoming spelling test.
This week we will do a second spelling test from this unit, under the sea. The following words have
been revised by the students: jellyfish, octopus, fish, shark, sea, see, can, what. I will give the students
some hints on the board.
Worksheets:
We are going to do a worksheet where the students cut out names of sea animals and stick them under
the correct picture. Another worksheet is to find sea animals in a word search and to fill in the missing
vowels. We are also going to complete the under the sea booklet from week one, where we will be
focusing on sea and beach activities, such as surfing and building a sandcastle.
Crafts:
This week we are going to make a big wall display featuring animals from under the sea and objects on
the beach as we did not get the chance to do it last week. The students will decorate pictures of under
the sea life and label them. They will cut them out and we will add them to the wall display.
