Basic Current Account

These Specific Terms and Conditions apply in addition to our General Terms and Conditions.
This account may be withdrawn at any time without notice.

1. Eligibility
To be eligible to open this account, you must be 16 years old or over, live in the UK for tax purposes and not already hold a Basic Current
Account with Santander.

2. Joint Account
A maximum of two people can be named on the account, however in some limited circumstances an account may only be opened in a sole
name. If this applies we will tell you at time of application.

3. Monthly Account Fee


There is no monthly account fee with this account.

4. Monthly Funding Requirements


You are not required to fund your account with a set amount each month.

5. Interest rates
We do not pay interest on this account.

6. Overdraft
Our overdraft services are not available on this account and you will not incur any overdraft charges. If you try to make a payment when you
do not have enough money in your account, we will not let the payment go through. A fee will not be charged for this.

7. Account Closure
You can close this account at any time by going to a Santander branch. Our rights to close your account are set out in the General Terms
& Conditions for Current Accounts and Savings Accounts. You have the right to cancel the account within 14 days of receiving your
confirmation of account opening. This is known as the cooling-off period.

8. Changes to Specific Conditions


We will communicate any changes to our Specific Conditions as set out in Condition 16.5 in Section 2A of the General Terms & Conditions
for Current Accounts and Savings Accounts.

9. Declaration
By signing the Agreement for this account you declare that:

You have been provided with documentation detailing the key features of the account and you would like to proceed with
your application.

All the Terms and Conditions have been made available to you and you agree to be bound by them.

Other important information about your account


1. Making payments in and out of your account
Cards
Subject to status, you will be issued a cash card. If you use your cash card abroad, you can only use it to make withdrawals via cash
machines. Fees may be applicable if you use your card abroad. You will receive more information with your card and PIN when they arrive.
Paying money in and out
You can pay in cash or cheques at some Santander cash machines in the UK and at Santander branches. You can receive regular payments
into your account, such as your salary. You may only pay in sterling bank notes or coins or sterling cheques made payable to you. You
cannot pay money in at the Post Office.
You can make payments from your account using Faster payments, Direct Debits and standing orders. You can also pay bills and make
international payments. In addition, you can carry out transactions at the Post Office. This is limited to two transactions a day per account.
There is also a limit to the amount of money you can take out in any one day and we will tell you how much this is before you open
your account.

2. Keeping track of your accounts


Monthly Statements
Your statement will show you all transactions since the date of your last statement. We recommend that you check your statement carefully
and let us know as soon as possible if there are any mistakes or any unauthorised payments.
Going Paperless
If you prefer, you can opt-out of receiving paper statements, and instead receive them as an e-Document. If you are registered for Online
Banking, you can opt to switch off Paper Statements via logging on to Online Banking, choosing the Account Services tab and selecting
e-Documents. You can also opt out of receiving paper statement by calling 08459 724 724.

AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest rate would be if we paid interest and added it to your account each year. The gross rate is the interest rate we pay before income tax is taken
off. The net rate is the interest rate we pay after deduction of income tax at the rate specified by law. Rates may change and we pay interest each month. EAR stands for Effective Annual Rate and represents the
yearly cost of an overdraft, which takes account of how often we charge interest to the account, and does not include any other fees or charges. Overdrafts depend on your circumstances and you must repay
any overdraft when we ask in line with our General Terms and Conditions.
