Dear Law Institute Councillors and Office Bearers

AUSSIES IN WONDERLAND: WITCH HUNT, WATERGATE, WATERLOO - VICTORIAN SUPREME COURT

PROCEEDINGS 9665 OF 2007, 9263 AND 10222 OF 2008 AND 3731 AND 3366 OF 2009
MELBOURNE'S PRETTY WOMAN FRAUD AND SUPREME COURT BROTHEL-GATE SCANDAL

1. I wish to report to the LIV Councillors a scandalous letter that I received last week from the LIV Office
Bearers (letter from Mike Brett Young dated 5 August 2009), and to inform the LIV Councillors of my
tempered and mature offer of 9 August 2009 inviting the LIV to withdraw that letter and reconsider acting in
accordance with its constitutional and lawful responsibilities towards me.

2. I attach a full copy of both the abovementioned correspondences, together with copies of proclamations
from the LIV website, where the LIV holds itself out as being there for, well for precisely all of the reasons
why it is constitutionally and (in many otherwise) legally as well as morally obligated to support me.

3. I urge each Councillor to speak sense to the Office Bearers. Whatever their individual leadership skills,
collectively they demonstrate some creepishly childish behaviour in their response to this situation.
Ostriches and Lemmings, to put it mildly.

4. If the LIV does not support me in this, then the present Office Bearers will be responsible for throwing the
LIV into the biggest constitutional, legal and public relations crisis of its 150 year history. Why? This
situation is not of the LIV's making? Why become part of the problem and suffer part of the consequences,
when the LIV has the opportunity to live up to its legal constitutional and self-promoted purposes and be part
of the solution?

5. The last thing I want to do is to be getting 'second opinions' and advisements from relevant regulators,
courts, parliaments, members of the Institute and non-lawyer members of the public. I have extended the
LIV every opportunity to respond responsibly to this situation.

6. This letter is my last attempt to protect the LIV from plunging itself into this crisis. There is no doubt that a
number of prominent lawyers (including barristers, judges and chief executives of statutory authorities) are
going to spend a lot more time in jail for a lot more serious reasons than the 13 months sentence handed
out to former Federal Judge and foundation Australian Human Rights Commissioner, Marcus Einfeld.

7. Just what is wrong with this country, and its lawyers (solicitors, barristers, judges and regulators) that could
allow a situation like this to develop?

Kind regards

JAMES JOHNSON
