Dear Mr Lynch

LAWYERS VERSUS LAWYER – BIGGEST HUMAN RIGHTS CASE OF THE CENTURY? -

VICTORIAN SUPREME COURT PROCEEDINGS 9665 OF 2007, 9263 AND 10222 OF 2008
AND 3731 AND 3366 OF 2009
1. I refer to my letter to you of 20 August 2009.
2. I attach a copy of my letter today to my local federal member, Deputy Prime Minister Julia
Gillard, and my enclosed section 35 Notice pursuant to the Charter of Human Rights and
Responsibilities Act.
3. I would be grateful for your support in respect of these proceedings. If a middle aged, middle
class Australian born professional man (a lawyer of many years good standing – like yourself)
can be so quickly, corruptly and completely deprived of his basic human rights like this – then
what help for the other 25 million or so 'ordinary' Australians? And, if so, what point is there
for an 'Aussie' human rights organisation [it's the ultimate oxymoron]?
4. This Section 35 Notice cost me a few cents over $30.00 to reproduce at Officeworks. Given
that I am presently 'full time' occupied with these proceedings and with putting out spot-fires
caused by them, this represents my food budget for 3 ½ days. For 13 litigation parties, plus
the Attorney-General, The Victorian Human Rights Commissioner, Victoria Legal Aid, the
Deputy Prime Minister and yourself – that exhausts my food budget for more than 3 weeks -
$240.00.
5. If your organisation could:
a. support me in the ways I've mentioned in paragraph 9 of my letter to Deputy Prime Minister
Gillard; and/or

Page 1
b. Provide me with access to an industrial sized photocopier,
either or both of these would be substantial contributions of support to my case whilst
involving virtually no resources from your organisation whatsoever.
6. I would also appreciate some guidance from you as to whom, assuming that I obtain iminent
funding from Victoria Legal Aid or from other Government or private sources, I should
consider approaching to represent me in this case – both law firms and counsel. Again, a
brief chat with you to discuss candidates would not require a subtantial investment of your
time.
7. I also repeat that I have almost 2 decades of top-tier commercial and government law legal
practice – as demonstrated in my credentials document I provided to you earlier. PILCH was
very appreciative of my offer to volunteer my services. Our sticking point was that PILCH
wants full-time volunteers and cannot accept part time volunteers. I believe that I could be a
valuable part-time resource for your organsation – irrespective of whether HRLRC were to
take any active role in my proceedings.
8. I repeat that I would be more grateful than you can imagine, to hear from you if there is any
chance I can help you with your work, or, indeed you can help me with mine.
9. Please call me on 0429 859 519 to discuss how we can progress this.

Kind regards

JAMES JOHNSON
