First Aid awareness for three wheel drivers

First aid is the immediate care given to a person who has been
injured or has been suddenly ill. It includes both self-help and home
care if medical assistance is not available or delayed. First aid
knowledge not only means the difference between life and death,
but also helps to determine the importance of first aid treatment
during an emergency situation.
First aid knowledge and skills promote safety awareness at home,
work and on the streets, through studying first aid a person should
be prepared to assist others during emergency situations.
The SLRCS Colombo Branch conducted first aid awareness
programmes for three wheel drivers with the assistance of the
Kottawa and the Maharagama police department on the 04th and the
24th of October 2014 in the branch premises and the Maharagama
police station.
There were 125 drivers who were present for this awareness
programme and were educated on Incident Management, Casualty
Management, Cardio Pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Recovery
Positions, Hypoxia and other important s that will be valuable in day
to day life theories by 3 of our best instructors. Practical sessions
were also conducted for these participants so that they would have
a better understanding in First Aid.
