02. CUSTOMER INFORMATION FILE

Each customer will be assigned one CIF Number (across the Bank) irrespective of
the number of accounts held by him/ her at different branches. Apart from other
data, all information required to be obtained under Know Your Customer (KYC)
norms needs to be captured while creating CIF.
IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER:

CIF is required to be maintained for all viz.

Account holders,
Joint Account holders,
Partners,
Introducers,
Nominees,
Guardians,
Guarantors etc.
(i.e. for those having any relationship with the Bank).
Various accounts in the same name and rights have to be maintained with
one CIF number.
All Tellers can create CIF, which requires authorization by a Checker with
a minimum Capability Level of 5.
All usual formalities for creating a customer are to be completed manually
as per KYC norms and the data from the account opening form to be keyed
into the system.
Do not enter any special characters or spaces in numeric fields like
Telephone/Fax numbers etc.
