Abstract
A brief abstract with maximum 150 words highlighting the work to be carried out in the full
length paper should be presented in this section. The extended abstract should contain a brief
introduction, methodology to be adopted, results and discussion followed by conclusion and few
references. The extended abstract should not exceed two pages.
Keywords: bimorph, periodic axial load, Method of multiple scales.
1. Introduction
This document shows the desired format and appearance of a manuscript prepared for the
Proceedings of the ICOVP 2015 International Conference on Vibration problems. The document
may be prepared using Microsoft (MS) Word or Latex. For abstract submission please log on to
the conference web site http://www.iitg.ernet.in/icovp15/. The font used throughout is Times
New Roman. Normal text has a font size of 12 point. Use standard A4-size paper (8.27 in by
11.69 in. or 210 mm by 297 mm) with margins set to 0.875 in. on left and right and 1.125 in. top
and bottom. Single line spacing should be maintained between paragraphs. Figure captions
should be centered below the figures and table captions should be centered above the table.
Introduction section should contain problem description with brief literature review. This section
should clearly highlight the novelty and the importance of the work relevant to the theme of the
conference. References may be cited in the text with author name/s and year of publication in
parentheses as the work by Anderson (1991) in case of single author, Hanna and Tobias (1974)
in case of two authors and in case of more than two authors it may be Nayfeh et al. (1997).
2. Methodology
In this section the formulation and methodology adopted may be briefly described using
schematic diagrams and governing equations. For example Figure (1) shows the schematic
diagram of an axially loaded energy harvester.

Figure 1: Schematic diagram of an axially loaded energy harvester

By using extended Hamiltons principle, single mode approximation with generalized Galerkins
method the nonlinear temporal equation of motion is derived.
q1 1q1 12q1 1q13 a1V F1 cos(1 ) 0.
(1)

Here q1 is the time modulation of the first mode. Equation number can be written as shown in the
above equation using parentheses flush with the right margin. Equation should be cited in the text
as Equation (1). Symbols in the equation should be defined before the equation or immediately
following the equation.
3. Results and discussion
In this section briefly discuss the results so as to get an idea about the work to be presented in the
full length paper. Figures and tables may be used for this purpose.

Please use words rather than symbols for Figure axis labels. For example as shown in Figure (1)
the y-label is written as Amplitude (m). Cite this figure in the text as Figure (1). Please follow the
attributes for document preparation as given in Table (1).
