Devotional Mantras

This is a compilation of some of the most devotional and sacred Hindu Mantras. These mantras are Satvik in nature and will most
certainly help and aid the true follower on the path of real Hinduism to progress in life and discover the true roots of the real Hindu
religion; the only way of life as intended by God. Hinduism will never subside or extinguish itself; but burst forth with a new brilliance in
the years to come.
Single minded and unselfish prayer and meditation without attaching any ulterior motive and material want helps you more than you
could ever imagine. As stated time and again on this site all and everything in this world is connected to each other and is part and
parcel of the same inter connected web.
By helping others, one helps himself; by hurting others, one hurts himself this is the key word of true Indian spiritualism. This is also
relevant in everyday life and is also the sacred mantra of Hinduism.
Over the past few years this site has been compiling some such material which would aid the readers towards spiritual progress. There is
a lot of other spiritual material; including devotional mantras in the numerous other section of this site. This site will strive to provide
more and more reading material in the days to come.
Again I would request readers not to misuse any of the material given on this site for profit or selfish motives as it has come to my
notice and reported to me by various readers that a lot of people on the net are engaged in such nefarious activities. Such people are
not hurting anyone else; but themselves; such is the Law of Nature. JAI HIND.

Gomata Mantra
Gomata or the Cow is since the Vedic period a sacred animal in Hinduism. The Cow has been referred to on numerous occasions in the Vedas as a
representation wealth and happiness. In the olden times the Cow was the source of food as milk and milk products were commonly consumed, hence it was
seen as a giver or source of food and held in the highest esteem. The Cow was and is still seen as a representative of God for the simple reason that it gives
its all and does not ask for anything in return, it happily feeds on grass.
The Cow is a harmless animal which feeds on grass and does not harm anyone. Along with milk Cow dung which is nothing but an extract of the grass eaten
by the Cow is used as fuel in religious ceremonies and homes in ancient times and some even today apply layers of Cow dung as flooring.
Hence Cow slaughter and the consumption of Cow meat was seen in Hinduism as a major sin. One does not kill and eat the one who feeds you. This is
a Mantra recited in praise of Gomata.

Mantra before going to bed

This is a most unique mantra to chant before going to bed. The mantra is Smaran or remembrance of the Maha Purush; the infinite
being and the Kul Purush; the original MAN from whom you descended, sometimes also called the Mool Purush. The worship of the
Kulpurusha is widely prevalent in the coastal regions of Konkan and in the state of Goa.
Chant this mantra a few times in your mind and visualize yourself going back to where you originated from; to your first ancestor; your
originator. Do this while you in bed and going to sleep.
This mantra seeks the blessings of the Kulpurusha to show you the right direction, rectify any Karmic defects and aid in your natural
course of evolution in life. Sometimes you might get an answer in your dream or sometime the right thoughts, feelings and sensations
might enter your mind.

Mantra before taking food

This verse from the Bhagavad-Gita [chapter4 verse 24] is a very popular Hindu Mantra which is recited before taking food.
The meaning of this Mantra is-He the one who eats the food is the Brahman [ever-existent], he is eating [offering] the food which is also the Brahman to the
ever- existent fire [the stomach] which is also the Brahman. He seeks nothing but harmony and peace not only in himself but everywhere.
This is deep and profound Spiritual meditation on the inner self, meditation on the inner self which is nothing but a part of the over self. All activities including
eating food are activities of the Brahman [ever-existent]

Mantra to get plenty of Food

Food is the primary and basic need to survive; no food, no life, is the first and foremost basic truth of life. This has been true since the
times of the first civilization of this world. The ancient Indian Sages composed many Mantras, believed to be of divine origin to ensure
that there was no shortage of food to meet the basic need to survive; not only for oneself; but also the dependants, like infants and
elders.
In this post is given a great Mantra to invoke the Divine Mother to grant plenty of food to the chanter and his or her dependants. The
purpose was to invoke the Divine Mother to ensure that none starves or loses his life due to lack of food.
The Mantra is of ancient origin and is free from any kind of Puja- Vidhi Archana and can be chanted at any time during the day or
night.
My recommendation is just 1 chant with complete dedication in the morning or evening. The readers should remember that
these Mantras trigger off some very powerful cosmic vibrations.

Most Hindu households have a unique presiding or family deity known as the Kuldevta. The word Kuldevta when translated into English means family deity.
The worship of the Kuldevta is considered of paramount importance, it is said that the blessings of the Kuldevta should be invoked first while offering
any Prarthana[prayer] or while trying to acquire any kind of Mantra Siddhi.

For such people here is a mantra which will free them from the worship of the Kuldevta.Take some Udi [sacred ash] and recite this mantra given below 9 times, then blow
the Udi away by blowing your breath on it. While reciting the mantra one is supposed to meditate on Guru Dattatreya .

Hindu Guru Mantra

The Guru or teacher has great importance in Hindu culture; this is so since ancient times. The Guru has occupied a position second to
none, and even the Gods and parents came after the Guru in ancient India.
The Guru was the one who took charge of the pupil from his parents and the pupil stayed with Guru in his residence which was known as
the Gurukul.
The Guru was the one who imparted pure knowledge to his pupil, hence the Guru is described as being the one who is Brahms, Vishnu
and Mahesh. These three are the Hindu trinity of the Creator, protector and the Destroyer.
The Guru is also described as the Parabrahma or the Universal energy or the Ever Existent.
However the modern times are the very opposite of those ancient times and the very definition of student and teacher has undergone a
radical change. I hope we learn from the wisdom of the ancients.

Mantra for Guru Purnima

Today is Guru Purnima; the full moon day in the month of Ashad as per the Hindu Lunar calendar. This day normally falls in July or
August. This day is also known as the Vyasa Purnima after Vyasa or Ved Vyasa; the composer of the Mahabharata and the one who is
said to have categorized and simplified the Vedas by putting them under four broad categories. He is in Hinduism; the immortal teacher.
In India the Guru, the one who imparts knowledge is held is great esteem and worshiped as the one that removes darkness and
illuminates. Guru Purnima is thus celebrated by thanking your Guru for the knowledge he has imparted and also by fasting, meditation
and the singing of Bhajans and Prarthanas.
It is also believed that Siddhi [mastery] over any mantra, tantra or yantra is hastened by the blessings of a Guru. In this post I am
giving a Shabar Guru Mantra for the occasion of Guru Purnima. If it is not possible for you to chant this mantra, then chant theMantra of
your favored deity.

Bhagavad-Gita on Om Tat Sat

This post is a continuation of the one where I had written about the Secret Mantra of Edgar Cayce "Arrr--eee-oommm".as Edgar Cayce pronounced Hari Om [
is a variation of Om Tat Sat [
the Mantra Om Tat Sat [

Om Tat Sat [

] .This

]. The following are the verses from the most sacred of the Hindu religious scriptures the Bhagavad-Gita, which describe
].

] is said to be the three fold designation of the Brahman. [Ever-Existent].This is how they were fashioned, of old, the Bhramanas, the Vedas and the
sacrifices.

Therefore all actions of sacrifice, gift and austerity enjoined by the divine ordinance, on part of the Vedas by uttering the word Om [], will always commence purely.

Uttering the word [], all the actions of sacrifice and charity which are performed by the seekers of liberation are without aiming at their fruit.

The word Sat [

] is used to signify existence and purity; as also O Partha, the word Sat is used for any auspicious action.

This is the mantras which instills in the seeker of the Ever-Existent the need for selfless action without aiming at the end fruit. The Gita has time and again stressed that
selfless action is the highest kind of action. This the Gita stresses is the gateway to ultimate liberation of which the state of Non Duality is but a part.

The only type of meditation which he is known to have practiced is the chanting of a particular word "Arrr--eee-oommm".None of his associates or friends probably
understood this; it could be because he meant it that way. He wanted it to be a secret.
This is nothing but Hari Om [

] which is a common Hindu Mantra. The pronunciation is exactly how an American would recite this mantra.Hari Om or "Arrr--eee-

oommm".as Edgar Cayce recited this mantra means Hari or Vishnu is the only truth. Hari Om is the short form of the mantra Hari Om Tat Sat [

] which means
Om the Universal Vibration is the one and only Absolute truth and Hari or Vishnu the Supreme Ever Existent and Om the Universal Vibration are one and the same.

This mantra was the trigger to the trance like state reached by Edgar Cayce. The trance like state was an unintentional state of Non Duality.Probably Edgar Cayce also never
realized that he was in the Non-Dual state. It is in this state where the observer and the observed become one, where one becomes all and all becomes one. In is only when
one reaches this elusive state that extra sensory achievements like prophecy are possible. In most cases the subject does not realize that he has reached this state.

Powerful mantra for release from sins

This is a very unique Mantra to gain release and freedom from sins. This mantra is from the ancient Hindu religious scripture the Atharva Veda.
The original verse is Sanskrit; I have tried to arrive as close English translation as I could.
The ancients understood the power of the spoken word and how if spoken from the deepest part of ones subconscious it could reach the end target.Try it
you will certainly feel contented.
Mantra
Oh God free me from the sins which I have committed knowingly and unknowingly.
In sleep or when awake, if I have sinned, let whatever has happened or will happen, release me for I have tied myself to a wooden post.
Cleanse me from the filth; the same way as one does by bathing; or how one gain freedom after being released after being tied to a wooden post; or as ghee
is clarified by the sieve; Oh God clean me of my sins.

Mantra to eradicate great sins

This is a most simple yet at the same time a Powerful mantra to eradicate sins; even great sins. This mantra is known as the Panch Sati Mantra. This mantra I have noted has
been mistakenly addressed as the Panch Kanya Mantra . The meaning of Kanya is Hindi in this context is Virgin. Virgins in India are said to symbolize purity.
This is a mistaken notion the five women named in this mantra were all married women not virgins who were for no fault of them wronged.

Panch Sati Mantra

Meaning
The wife of Gautam Rishi Ahalya, the wife of the Pandavas Draupadi, Prabhu Ramchandras wife Sita, Taramati the wife of Raja Harishchandra and Mandadori the wife of
Ravana are the five Mahasatis; the one who contemplates upon them with devotion eradicates great sins which he has committed.

The Adi Shakti, Divine Mother and the Mother of the Universe is worshipped by many names throughout India. This depends upon the
culture, tradition, history and heritage of that particular region. The spiritualists and the seekers know her as the Kundilini Shakti; lying

Jagdamba is also one of the names of the Divine Mother; the devotees visualize her in the form of the Mother of the World.

completion of 600.000 chants. However the seeker should not count the chants and practice this as a long term Mantra Meditation.
