Annex I Job Description

Position Title: Risk Officer Risk Policy & Process

Reports to: Head of Risk

SECTION 1 POSITION SUMMARY


Position Objective:

Owner of ESM risk policy and risk processes and their implementation
- Owner of risk appetite statement, its updates and implementation
- Owner of writing and updating other supporting documents for risk policy related to financial
risks.
Owner of annual risk self-assessment covering market, credit, compliance and ALM risks.
Owner of new tools and instruments (NTIA) approval process.
Key contributor to establishing the evolving risk culture.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Risk policies and processes:
Regular review and update of all risk policy and process documents related to financial risks;
Review of process implementation of limits, tools etc.;
Development and maintenance of financial risk processes for defining mitigating actions and
monitoring their implementation;
Ensuring of escalation mechanisms are established and are being used;
Monitoring of external indicators and market developments;
Identification and treatment of emerging financial risks.
Value added commentary to financial risk reporting regarding risk processes and (risk) compliance.
2. Compliance:
Partner to Compliance Officer in producing and maintaining related policies;
Partner to Compliance Officer in developing their functions, providing assistance with design of
compliance monitoring, event reporting systems, training etc.;
Potential cover for Compliance Officer during periods of absence.

Main interactions with other functions/ external entities


Frequent interaction and interface with the Operational Risk team
Frequent interaction with the owners of the financial risks.

Owner meaning primary responsibility of implementation and/or maintenance and/or approval of


the risk methodology under the supervision of the HoR

SECTION 2 REQUIRED KEY SKILL SET AND PREFERRED PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES


KEY SKILL SET

Experience of definition and set-up of Risk Management Frameworks (including quantitative aspects)
Background in Risk policy, governance and processes
Knowledge of Risk Appetite and development of Risk Appetite Statements
Understanding of Operational Risk management and Operational Risk frameworks (including
quantitative aspects)
Background in Compliance

SECTION 3 FORMAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Very good academic degree at a top university; Qualification with a specialized institutions is
considered an asset
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in risk management/control, compliance, audit or business
support/management role within the financial services industry
Fluent (spoken and written) in English, and either French or German
Any other language skills are considered an asset
Project management experience an advantage

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Years of experience required for the position:
3+ years in a relevant position
