PROGRAM MECHANICS

KKB (Kosa, Kapit Bisig) PROJECT

Rationale:
All probation and Parole officers are of the common knowledge that Probation, Parole,
and Conditional Pardon are categorized as Community-Based forms of correction. It allows the
supervisions of offenders and prisoners towards reformation while eliminating the hardship of
prison life and the stigma that accompanies going to jail.
Project KKB is conceptualized to help and encourage inmates/prisoners deal with
boredom, loneliness, anxiety, and fear of future uncertainties
The project which at a first glance seems as though an additional burden to a Probation
and Parole Officers duties is a gesture of love, which will somehow extend a brotherly tap and
make an inmate who is losing hope or worst turned his back from functional living, feel that he
is still important and that there are people who believes that he can change.
Technically this program works to put structure on our JAIL DECONGESTION PROGRAM.
Its mechanics will highlight the role of our reformed clients as models of change thus providing
encouragement to inmates that reformation is possible. It will also see the functional
involvement of our VPAs in Jail Decongestion.
The program is also in keeping with one of the goal of Therapeutic Community which is
to instill a functional family atmosphere among our clients. With our effort towards that goal
we have somehow created a social institution in the TC family of our clients it behooves us
therefore to expand their involvement in our reformatory activities while emphasizing the role
of the family in facilitating the reintegration of offenders into society. Hence we have this
Program.
