Dear Friends, Family and Fellow Christians,
We have enjoyed our stay here in Hong Kong very much. We have been blessed by
the Lord and His people. On Sundays we meet from 8:30 in the morning and we don't
leave until after 9:00 that same evening. The Church meets in the living room of a rented
house, and the attendance this Sunday was 32. Magdalena and I have been responsible for
bringing the leaching morning, afternoon, and evening.
Most of the congregation is made up of Filipino mothers who come here to work in
homes on a two-year contract before they can return home. The congregation is supporting
one or two Filipino ladies that have gone forth from the Fairview Christian Church here in
Hong Kong. In the Philippines they have begun Bible studies with their own children and
family members and have begun three Sunday Schools for children in at least two mission
churches near where they live.
Brother Ken Smyth, who has been the missionary here for over 23 years, gives
Bible Studies and teaches each member how to make disciples. Magdalena and I are
having Bible studies with him every day for about 2 to 3 hours. The Lord has greatly
blessed us because we will be able to share in Mexico and else-where the methods that Ken

in Mexico after the I' of October. Lord willing we will be preaching in aHispanic church ]
in Dallas, Texas before we return to Mexico.
Out Fall schedule is very busy on all weekends up until New Year's. We are /
scheduled for revivals, Colegio Biblico's Alumni Reunion (Magdalena has been the v
president for the last two years), and the Mexican Christ in Youth conference near Mexico (
City near the Pyramids of Teotihuacan.
Meeting for the National Mexican Christian Convention as well as a revival meeting in j

(so they say), are very supportive and happy that we have had this blessing to have come to
Hong Kong after nearly 20 years of having been invited by missionaries Ken Smyth and
Wong Yang Wing. Both were my roommates at Piatte Valley Bible College in Scottsbluff,
Nebraska.
Dear friends and family-please continue to pray for us. Continue supporting God's
work in every way possible. Pray for God's children that He has placed under our c^are for
these few short years. Children that we call our own, Berenice, Ana Silvia, Mark Caleb, and
Sheila Maysel. Our children are active in the Lord's work in Mexico on a local as well as
national level. Mark Caleb especially requires ourprayers as he decides how to use his life.
We had the blessing of leading our children to the Lord, but they still need our support and
prayer.
Continue to pray for my mother, Maysel. She especially helps with our children
when Magdalena and I are traveling. She takes time everyday to teach them English and
piano lessons. She shares her experience and love with her grand kids. She is a very
valuable resource for us and the work in Mexico. May the Lord still grant her good health
and years of life on this earth.
I give my sincere, "Thank you" to all of you who have had a part in the Lord's
ministry through the Northrup families. We pray and invite others to join forces with us so
we might still do more and better what the Lord expects us to do before He too calls us
home to Him.
Love in Christ,
NORTHRUP
