Subject: Anguish and disappointment against defamatory and false

news coverage of Pujya Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu by Sandesh Newspaper

Shri Yoga Vedanta Seva Samiti ------- is a non-profitable charity organization,

registered in the -----, which formed by followers of Pujya Bapuji in the ---. We
conduct various activities throughout the year such as cultural, spiritual, moral,
educational, and health related activities under the guidance of our Spiritual Master
H. H. Asaramji Bapu (a Self Realised Saint from India www.ashram.org ) through
promotion of his Satsangs (spiritual discourses on Gita, Vedas, religious harmony
and trans meditation) in the UK & all over Europe.

Param Pujya Sant Shri Asaramji, endearingly called 'Bapuji', is a Self-Realized Saint
from India. Pujya Bapuji preaches the existence of One Supreme Conscious in every
human being; be it Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh or anyone else. Bapuji represents
a Confluence of Bhakti Yoga, Gyan Yoga & Karma Yoga. Pujya Bapuji has been
appointed as the head of Hindu Maha Sabha and he has been revered and respected
by all religious heads from all faiths.

On November 10 2009, Sandesh newspaper published an article along with

derogatory cartoon defaming Pujya Sant Shree Asaramji Bapu. We want to point out
that there have been several instances of misreporting and denunciatory adjectives
used by Sandesh to mislead, inflame and instigate against Pujya Bapuji and his
Ashrams. We would like to re-iterate that our religious sentiments have been deeply
hurt.
There have been several incidents where Press Council has slammed Sandesh for the
infraction of the norms of journalistic conduct in their reports appeared aimed at
creating a sensation in the surcharged atmosphere; misleading and inflammatory
articles; provocative and instigating language causing divisiveness and hatred among

It is obvious Sandesh published such derogatory articles on Pujya Bapuji to increase

its readership and instigate against Hindu saints. The Media should not manipulate
the NEWS and should always bring the true picture in front of the public. They should
always keep in mind that whatever is written by them has a great impact on the
minds of the readers and their credibility is at stake. Media has been given the right
to expression by the Constitution of India and they should not misuse the
same. Some conspirators for their own benefits misguiding the public and media is

Since we’re thousands of miles away from our country, it is our sincere hope that the
PMO Office and Embassy of India will bring this matter to appropriate authorities and
take appropriate action against Sandesh newspaper so that they don’t misguide the
world and hurt religious sentiments. Saints are the pillars and advocates of Hindu
Dharma and we must not allow false allegations to taint the image of the Hindu
dharma and its staunch advocates in wrong light.
