PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) is a next-generation identity and access-control policy platform
that enables enterprises to enforce compliance, enhance infrastructure security, and streamline service
operations. The innovative architecture of the Cisco Identity Services Engine allows enterprises to gather
real-time contextual information from networks, users, and devices, tying identity to network elements
such as access switches, wireless LAN controllers, VPN gateways, and data center switches. With this
contextual information, enterprises can make proactive governance decisions about access. The Cisco
Identity Services Engine:
Allows enterprises to authenticate and authorize users and endpoints through wired, wireless,
and VPN networks;
Provides complete guest lifecycle management service;
Enables the ability to discover, classify, and associate identity for all endpoints connecting to the
network;
Addresses vulnerabilities on user machines through periodic evaluation and remediation;
Enforces security policies by blocking, isolating, and repairing noncompliant machines in a
quarantine area without needing administrator attention;
Offers a built-in monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting console for helpdesk operators and
administrators.
Onboards mobile devices through native supplicant provisioning, certificate enrollment via SCEP,
and the My Devices Portal
Integrates BYOD onboarding with third-party MDM vendors: Mobile Iron, Good, SAP Afaria,
AirWatch, Citrix (Zenprise), and Fiberlink (MaaS360).
