AEE's Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional (CIAQP) program is designed to provide recognition for indoor air quality
professionals who have demonstrated a high level of competence in their field, and an in-depth knowledge of the
principles and practices of indoor air quality assessment, design, management, and problem mitigation. Individuals
earning the right to put "CIAQP" behind their names have distinguished themselves as leaders in their profession,
exhibiting excellence in the areas of specialized knowledge, experience, proficiency and ethical fitness.

COMPREHENSIVE 2 1/2 - DAY TRAINING PROGRAM FOR IAQ PROFESSIONALS


(prep: CIAQP Certification)
This is the first ever course (same as the course held in USA) with the USA instructor traveled from the headquarters to
Hong Kong. This course is specially designed for Hong Kong to incorporate contents of the Guide and the
Guidance Notes for the Management of Indoor Air Quality Certification Scheme in Offices and Public Places.
The 12 parameters will be taught with reference to the submission to EPD certification. CIAQP certificates will
be issued directly from Association of Energy Engineers (USA Headquarters) after passing the exam with eligibility

ABOUT THE COURSE


This course provides a foundation of core knowledge and skills in the area of indoor air quality for professionals who
design, construct, operate, or maintain buildings. No matter what your principal area of involvement in the management
of indoor air quality, this program will furnish you with a wealth of information and techniques to help you do your job
more effectively. Presented by two leading exper4ts in the field, the instructional program has been designed to provide
you with a basic understanding of all the fundamental components of effective indoor air quality management.
This course is designed to serve as a preparatory vehicle for those preparing to sit for the Certified Indoor Air Quality
Professional (CIAQP) exam.

INSTRUCTOR
RAYMOND PATENAUDE, P.E., C.I.A.Q.P., is President of The Holmes Agency, Inc., specializing in building science as
it relates to moisture intrusion into buildings, microbial contamination of building environments and indoor air quality of
habitable spaces. He currently serves as chairman of the CIAQP board, vice chairman of ASHRAE's Environmental
Health Committee, and member of ASHRAE's Technical Committee for Moisture Management in Buildings, and of
ASHRAE Standard 62.2, Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Low-Rise Residential Buildings.

Examination Requirement
All CIAQP candidates must satisfactorily complete a four-hour written open-book exam, proctored by an approved exam

Eligibility
The prerequisites to qualify for the certification process have been designed to take into account the possible diversity of
education and practical experience an individual may have. However each CIAQP candidate must meet one of the
following criteria:

The current status of registered professional engineer, certified energy manager, certified industrial
hygienist, or registered architect, with at least three years' experience in indoor air quality and two additional
CEUs of board-approved training.

A four-year degree or higher in engineering, science, architecture, business or related field, with at least three
years' experience in indoor air quality and two additional CEUs of board-approved training.

A two-year technical degree or four-year degree in an unrelated field, with eight years' experience in indoor
air quality and three additional CEUs of board-approved training.

Ten years of board-approved experience in indoor air quality and four additional CEUs of board-approved
training.

Application forms will be distributed the students after the course/exam for the CIAQP
certification.
