DearFriends,
CorrectmeifI'mwrong.UCS66determineswhenimpacttestisrequiredforCSvesselsbasedonmaterials,thickness,
andMDMT.IfmaterialthicknessatcertainMDMTfallsbelowacurve,thenformaterialslistedforthiscurveimpact
testingisnotmandatory(orrequired).
Ifitfallsabovecurve,thenyouneedeithertohavethismaterialimpacttestedatMDMTtemperature,orconsider

Now,howaboutPWHTplaysintoallthis?Ifmaterialisnormalized,doesitalsoneedtobepostweldheattreatedin
ordertoqualifyforimpacttestingexemption?
DoesweldingprocedureshastobeprequalifiedforcertaintemperatureMDMT?
Bytheway,whatismoreeconomical:heattreatmentorimpacttesting?
Thanksinadvanceforclarification.
