We are pleased to have an active Recruitment Program for Individuals with Disabilities
and are currently accepting applications from individuals with disabilities who are
Schedule A eligible for full-time positions. The federal government is a diverse and
supportive environment, and EPA is committed to recruiting qualified individuals with
disabilities.
How do I know if I am Schedule A eligible?
To be eligible for the program, candidates must submit proof that they are an individual
with a severe physical disability, intellectual (mental retardation) disability, or psychiatric
disability. This proof may be in the form of documentation obtained from any licensed
medical professionals, state or private vocational rehabilitation specialists, or any
Government agency that issues or provides disability benefits and should state that the
candidate has a severe physical disability, intellectual disability, or psychological
disability. It can be as simple as a statement on letterhead such as, This letter serves
as certification that (name of patient/applicant) is an individual with a severe physical,
intellectual, or psychiatric disability that qualifies him/her for consideration under the 5
CFR 213.3102 (u) Schedule A hiring authority appointment for Persons with
Disabilities. Candidates need not submit any additional medical information.

Grade Levels
The pay grades vary for these positions and will be determined based on your individual

1) a copy of your resume;
2) a copy of a letter from a licensed medical professional indicating that you are
an individual with a serious physical, intellectual (mental retardation), or
psychiatric disability;
3) a cover letter indicating for which position(s) you would like to be considered;
and
4) a college transcript (if there is an education requirement as indicated above)
