My manager has inform me there is a new department that will handle a market segment. He has
Ask me to put together a team that will make up the new department.
I thought the best way to have an excellent team to give the Jungian 16-type Personality selfassessment. I decide that the team I have now will be the the team that will head the new
department
The current team members are Joseph Abbott, Paul Cornell, Nora DiBartolomeo, and myself
Gabriella Goodfield. Each of us have already taken the self-assessment. The results are as
follows: ISFJ, INTJ, ESTJ, and ISTP.
Joseph Abbott result are ISTP, Paul Cornell has INTJ, Nora has ISFJ, and I have ESTJ. What do
these letters mean? They are introverted (I), sensing (s), thinking (t), perceiving (p), judging (j),
feeling (f), and (I). As we look at the results the common facts between Joseph, Nora, and I have
sensing. Joseph, Paul, and Nora have introverted. Joseph, Paul, and I have thinking. Whereas
Paul, Nora and myself have judging.
According to Noras result, the careers she can work as a masseur, vet, and clerical clerk. She is
extremely steadfast and affable towards friends and co-workers. She will sacrifices herself for
the good of the team. Nora has the ability to stay concrete on the goals and the problems that
need to be solve. Nora is a supportive leader. I base this on the fact she willing to make
sacrifices to achieve the goals and helps the employees...
Joseph results shows that he, at times, can be unbending. He can be a matter of fact person at
work meaning he see the working place and problems as the really are. His leadership would be
visionary leader. Just base on the fact that Joseph sees the life and work as they really are. The
careers Joseph can consider fire fighter or a pilot.
Paul results states skeptical, critical, independent, determined. And stubborn (Cornell/Jungian
2014, p.1). There are numerous careers that Paul can do here is just a few a lawyer or an

engineer. I would say his leadership is charismatic leader. The he is determined. Nora is
charismatic because she will sacrifices herself and she will hold her ground. Paul is the same
leadership because he at times determined.
Now for my results. The results tell me that I am practical, matter of fact, sensible, single
minded. In addition, I have a mind for business. The careers that suitable for me is corporate
executive and administrator. The theory that can apply to me is the collaborative theory.
In our team, we have the following leadership behavior:
1. Directive Leader. This type of leader tells the employees what work to do. Provides the
work schedules. Paul Cornell would be this type of leader. His self-assessment has
shown that he has the personality.
2. Supportive Leader. This leader would support the employees.
3. Achievement oriented leader. The leader achieve the set goals and finish the work.
The situation here at hand is the fact that I have to crate a team for the new department. After
reviewing the self -assessment results the team is compose of Joseph Abbott, Paul Cornell, Nora
DiBartolomeo, and myself. In addition, another situation and an urgency is to choose a team
leader. The best choice is Paul Cornell. His self-assessment that he can lead the team and be a
directive leader. Paul is a transformational leader and has the coercive power meaning that he he
sees that an employee does not meet the goals set he fire the employee.
Nora is a supportive leader because she would support the employees. Joseph and I are
achievement-oriented leader. For both of to work at our best we need well set goals. The
leadership theories that the share is the rational and collaborative leadership. The leadership is
possible because as a team we have at one self-assessment results in common. Rational
leadership because the team would have very well define roles in the team. Collaborative
because of the the common results that were found the self-assessment
The team is form to set goals, and divide different duties within the team. In addition, to avoid
conflicts the team needs to write a team charter what to do in case of conflict among the
members. One last item that could be include what to if a member is unable to finish their assign
duties.
Well define team would accomplish all set goals without difficulties. The team most haven some
common points in way of personalities. Using the different theories and type of leaderships the
department can work and run smoothly.
