several previous researchers. Here is the description of some previous study that
discusses the use of silent way method in teaching speaking.
The first previous research was done by Irma Rahmawati in Teaching
speaking pronunciation using silent way method (a case study at the fourth grade
students). She thought that there is a method that can be used by teacher to improve
students speaking skill. The method is silent way. She used this method because she
thought that teacher function can be a guide, an organizer, a resource, and evaluator.
This segment discusses the research finding. It discusses the use of silent way method
in learning English pronunciation increased the students speaking skill. The
improvement of students speaking skill by using silent way method was effective
especially for fourth grade students and its good in teaching learning English.
The second pervious research was done by Akhmad Amri in Improving the
students speaking ability through silent way method at the second year students of
SMAN X Bandar lampung. The researcher is interested to use silent way method in
teaching speaking skill at the second year students of SMA N X Bandar Lampung. He
choose that method because he assumes that silent way method is a method that can
encourage, and motivate students to use their English without fell of fear in making
mistake. In Silent Way method, teaching learning is facilitated if the students learn
based on the self-correction. Therefore, this will make students independent,
autonomous, and responsible. In this method, teachers have to make the students rely
on themselves. The students can produce any sound and the teacher will never ask
anybody else to do it for them. So, the students are hoped to be responsible for the
words or utterances they are saying.
From the statement above the writer conclude that there are several
differences from the previous research with the research that will the writer do. Here
are some differences: The methodology of the first previous research used Pre-

Experimental Research and the second previous researcher used Classroom Action
