After graduating with a degree in
classics he tool on the job of
travelling to other European
countries.
It became of great big interest to
Hobbes to investigate the reason
people did not mind being rules
upon
Leviathan, 1651 was Hobbes most
famous written work in which he
made arguments such as, that
people are not fit to be trusted to
become the government because
they are naturally wicked.
An absolute Monarchy, in which a
king or a queen is entitled to all the
power. It is the best type of
government there can ever be.
This is his ideal form of government.
He also believed that there should
only be one who is in power of the
entire nation and governs all the
people.
He firmly believed that people are
selfish and only care about their
personal interests; they would do
whatever they can to preserve their
position.
He said, in democracy it gives
people a very big option and
opportunity to choose the people
they want to be in power.
Soren Kierkegaard
Was a Danish philosopher,
theologian and psychologist
He talked of the priority of concrete
human realities and the importance
of personal choice and commitment

He is known as one of the most

contemporary thought
He is known for distinguishing his
philosophical, theological and
psychological methods are regarded
as the father of existentialism.
He soon began to write on the
church and the application of
religion in the society and spent
final years attacking the Danish
national church

Is one of the greatest philosophers

He is considered one of the most
prominent and important founding
figures of the modern day political
science.
His most renowned work is The
Prince he describes how a ruling
prince can maintain his throne and
rule for as long as he wishes to.
It can also go and describes how a
government can be torn down to
shreds in order for a new one to rise
and be more successful.
His famous lines were, it is better
to be feared than to be loved.
Jean-Jacques Rousseau
He was a writer, composer and
philosopher.
He aided the development of
modern political, sociological and
educational thought.

Rousseau
Jean-Jacques Rousseau was born on the 28th of
June in the year 1712. He died on the 2nd of July
in 1778. He was a writer, composer and a major
Genevois Philosopher of the 18th century
Romanticism. Born in Geneva, Switzerland he
had much influence on the French revolution
through the influence of his political philosophy.
He also aided in the development of the modern
political, sociological and educational thought.

His legacy has wide spread around the world and


his ideas are truly revolutionary. His greatest
work was his novel Emile: or, On Education.
This book is a work of art based on the seminal
treatise of education regarding all of people or
citizenship all together.
Rousseau was born in Geneva Switzerland and
his very proud to be a part of a family that had
voting rights in the city. Rousseaus ideas were
quite opposite to that of Hobbes as he believed
that uncorrupted morals will lead to the state
of nature. It is often said Rousseaus most
important work was his novel The Social
Contract. This is because this novel described
how the basis for how a legitimate political
system should work in the framework of a
classical republic system.
It was published in 1762 and it
immediately spread throughout the
political philosophical regions of the
Western World. It was highly appreciated
and has become one of the most
important reads in the area. Rousseau
makes a clear distinction between his
views of sovereignty and governing
entities through his works over the years.
