Its difficult to name a particular aspect that will make your presentation successful. Different authors point out to different
aspects but all in all we can say that most of the time it is a matter of confidence, of being secure; and this involves several
ingredients of your presentation.
Everyone gets nervous when they have to do something out of the ordinary (you only need to do it three times every year)
and, besides, you know they are going to grade you, so you know the teacher is going to pay close attention to every detail of
what you say.
Everybody gets nervous when they are doing something in public, not only shy people. Even outgoing people become very
uncomfortable when they cant choose who they are speaking to. And you will not be able to choose your audience.
Here I have a few tips that could be helpful to overcome insecurity or lack of confidence:

Consider that your mistakes, especially grammar or vocabulary mistakes are necessary steps to learning. You
should consider them learning opportunities.

Consider that what you are going to do is to give your audience, your classmates, something that belongs to you. It
is your story no matter what the topic is.

It is then, a good idea to write and check every sentence that you are going to say. Dont write long sentences that
you cant say unless you are reading them. So, if you have to use descriptions or definitions that were created by
other people, rephrase them, rewrite them using shorter sentences and easier vocabulary. It is a good idea if you
write it by hand instead of typing it on the computer: you will own them in a more proper sense; they will stay in
your memory for a longer time.

If you know a lot about a topic, you must choose previously what to tell and what to leave aside. When you are
before an audience with very varied listeners, you must be very clear and orderly because you cant receive the
feedback, or the response, to your message in the same way as when you are chatting to your friends. You must
your plan key points and make sure you wont forget any of them by keeping a few notes as a cheat sheet while
you are presenting. You should even plan your jokes or anecdotes because we tend to miss them when we are
nervous.

You will start to feel relaxed when you can see that everything is running as you had planned. If you dont have a
plan, that moment will never come. The same will happen if your plan is not very realistic: so, again, remember to
use simple sentences, easy vocabulary, pronounce clearly making enough pauses so that everybody can follow
what you say.

And, then, to get to that point, you need to look at your audience and check that they are receiving your message,
your story, that they need your help, your assistance to discover those sides or aspects that they had never seen
or paid attention to.
