The pronouns lo, la, los and las must agree in number and gender with the nouns they replace.

When do I use DOP?

1. To precede a conjugated verb. If it is a negative sentence the DOP comes between the no
and the conjugated verb.
Ex: We like ice cream
We do not like ice cream
Nos gusta el helado
No nos gusta el helado
2. In a sentence with an infinitive verb, the DOP will be attached to the end of the verb or may
come before the verb.
Ex:
Do you want to play zondle? Quieres jugar zondle?
No, no quiero jugarlo
No, no lo quiero jugar
3. In Affirmative commands: they follow the verb or are attached to the verb.
Escucha la radio en tu cuarto(habitacin)!
Escuchala en tu cuarto!

may come before the verb.
Example: Me voy a comprar un ipad maana.
Voy a comprarme un ipad maana.

comes before the verb

its attached to the end of the verb

2. The IOP are used for emphasis or clarification even when there may be an indirect object
noun in the same sentence.
Example: Le digo la verdad al profesor.
Carlos nos habla a nosotros, no te habla a ti.

Verbs of communication:
contar:
