MINERALOGY TUTORIALS VERSION 2.

MINERALOGY TUTORIALS INSTALLATION
1. Insert the CD into CD-ROM drive.
2. Installation should start automatically. If NOT, double click on My Computer, then the CDROM drive, then INSTALL and SETUP .
4. Follow instructions on screen.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
1. Petium 233-MHz processor or higher.
2. 16 MB of RAM (32 MB RAM recommended).
3. 640x480 resolution with 256 colors or greater.
4. 8x CD-ROM drive.
5. 6 MB of free disk space.
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
1. Windows 95 or higher
2. QuickTime 3 or higher for Windows (QuickTime 4.1 included).
HOW TO RUN THE TUTORIAL
1. Insert the CD into CD-ROM drive.
2. Program should start automaticlly.
3. If NOT, click the Start button on task bar and select program group named Wiley.
4. Select icon named Mineralogy Tutorials 2.1
HOW TO DISABLE THE PRINT FUNCTION
Edit the Mineralogy_Tutorials_CD.txt after the installation. This file is located in the system
folder. You can locate this file easily by searching for it. Click on Start button, then Find, then
Files or Folders Type Mineralogy_Tutorials_CD.txt in the Named: field. Select the (C:)
drive for the Look in: selection field and click Find Now. Double click on
Mineralogy_Tutorials_CD.txt, change print=1 to print=0, save file and exit.
KNOWN ISSUES
If your printout is blank or garbled, almost always it is a result of two factors: 16-bit color depth,
combined with out-of-date print drivers, particularly drivers for Hewlett-Packard printers.
Recommended Solutions
1. Update your print drivers to the latest version from HP's web site
(http://www.hp.com/cposupport/jsnav/prhome.html).
2. Manually change the screen depth to 8 bits (most reliable) or 24 or 32 bits.
