BRIDGEWATER
BLUEBIRDS

Bridgewater
Bluebirds kicked off their Spring AFL 9s Womens 8 week Roster on Friday the 17th of
October at the Tasmania Hockey Centre, New Town.

The roster consisted of four teams: Bridgewater Bluebirds, Hobart City, Lauderdale and the

Harlequins. With the Bluebirds losing their first 3 games by very small margins they were determined
to get a win, winning their next four games 1 by forfeit to make the AFL 9s Grand Final against the
established Lauderdale Bombettes who have been a strong side to play against all roster.

The Grand Final was a nail biting game to watch with the scores tied on 38pts with 10minutes left

on the clock. The Bluebirds stayed strong, playing as a team and fought back to kick a further 3 goals
to win the Grand Final! 38-56. Each player played exceptionally well and should be very proud of their
efforts.

A huge thankyou to Bluebird Captain Leah Clark who established the Bridgewater Bluebirds in May

2013 and strived to make the team stronger and now CHAMPIONS! We would also like to thank our
supporters that watched our games each week, cheering on the Bluebirds.

Horny Crays 57 def The Party Boy Raiders 51

It what can be only described as a good old fashioned Grand Final the two heavy weights of the roster went head to
head last night at the Barn. With a record 25 fouls called neither side was prepared to give away too much in a game
that went down to the wire.

With Club owner and proud major sponsor Darren Clark in attendance Captain/Coach Daniel 'Kermie' Hall had the
Crays fired up and ready to fire. With Big Boy Griffin putting a tight tag on MVP Runner-Up Woods the Raiders

struggled
to put some points on the board recording only 4 points compared to his season average of 21.9.
it was a great team effort with Fezz (17), Max O'Neill Medallist Dylan Vuccica (16), Marty Scott (12) with
For the Crays
good contributions from Kermie, JP, Griff, Hilly and Jake.

The Party Boy Raiders also known as the out of towners turned up at The Barn pretty confident with Tommy "Chirp"

Curtain shooting
from the lip as per usual and with the harsh but certainly worth the call of Jayden Charlton's axing
due to very sub-standard performances they were ready to go.

With several heated clashes between both sides it took the little man Theodore "Weeman" Jaynes to put on an

outstanding display of 3 point shooting that was reminiscent of the good ol days of Allan Matcham when he was on
fire. Jaynes shot seven 3 pointers to top score with 21, Bevan England with 9, Curtain (7), Stephens, Woods &

Howard (4) and Sullivan with 2.

Fezz starred for the Crays and was awarded the MVP of the Grand Final with Griffin and Theodore filling in the minor
places.

Unfortunately
our musical genius Harley "Hayley" BANKS was unable to perform the National Anthem due to a minor

throat infection which he picked up from rehearsals in the Bromley Street cup-de-sac in preparation for his Northern
Suburbs
tour. Harley "Hayley" Banks was observed gargling some saltwater but was unable to return to the

microphone in time. Hopefully an appearance during the local Christmas Pageant will be confirmed by Harley "Hayley"
Banks's management within the next few days. Good luck Choirboy!!!

Congratulations

to ALL teams that participated in this years Roster we look forward to our roster commencing again
around March 2015. Stay tuned for more details early in the New Year.

GRAND FINAL WINNERS CHICKADEES!

Chickadees 38 DEF Mixed Nuts 24

PCYCs Spring Netball Roster kicked off on Wednesday the 6th of August.

The roster consisted of 6 teams: The Mutts, The Shooting Stars, Mixed Nuts, The Chickadees, The
Netts and Girls Havn Fun.

We
had a nail biting Grand Final which was played on Wednesday the 22nd of October at the

Bridgewater PCYC between the previous Grand Final winners MIXED NUTS and The CHICKADEES,

both teams played exceptionally well and should be very proud.

We w ould like to thank all the supporters that came to watch and showed their support it was great

Congratulations
to our PCYC U/14 Boys Futsal team who have just been crowned winners of the STATE FUTSAL titles

held
at the Moonah Sports Centre Saturday November 29. After a full day of competitive games we managed to

notch up 3 wins and a narrow loss to reach the GRAND FINAL against the Tassie Tornadoes. The gold medal game was

played at a rapid pace and went into a sudden death next goal win's format after scores were locked at 3 a piece after

30mins. Our boys managed to kick the next goal to secure the win after some fantastic individual and team

performances, which had us all on the edge of our seats.

We would like to say a big thank you to the "Tasmanian Community Fund" for making this possible for our local kids.

The PCYC staff and all involved are very proud of your efforts, well done!! It is a great result, which stems from our

drop-in
times on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon at the Jordon River High School gymnasium and from our PCYC

Wednesday
teams, which compete in Moonah with all costs covered once again from the Tasmanian Community

Fund. Well done once again boy's fantastic effort and day had.
