The group of companies Vapormatra-Ecoforest war burn in Vigo
in 1959 by hands of its founder and owner Jos Carlos Alonso
Martinez. After travelling to New York in 1958 for the first multisectoral world fair, Jos Carlos began his career by marketing
steam boilers, burners and products for the heating sector.
In the 70s, his entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen led him
to visit major international trade fairs from where he brought the
latest developments into the national market, creating the first
wood-chip biomass boiler. Thus, the Vapormatra-Ecoforest group
was the first to show an interest in ecology and fuel economy.
In 1993, as part of this effort to continue providing technology
and progress, the firm accepted a new professional challenge:
to market a new especially ecological and economic product. To
this end Vapormatra-Ecoforest created Spains first pellet mill in
Villacaas (Toledo) and launched the firms latest invention on the
European market: THE FIRST PELLET-FUELLED STOVE-BOILER.

International coverage
Currently, Ecoforest is the market leader with the widest range of air, water and ducted stoves, and is present in 14 countries. Its R & D
department continues to innovate every day, developing more advanced and more efficient products.
Our desire is to become a group leader in renewable products, providing our customers with a safe, reliable and efficient range of quality
products as well as to contribute in the environment conservation.
In this context, and after several years of intense study and experimentation in close connection with the University of Vigo, we have developed
our new range of products, geothermal heat pumps EcoGeo. We are proud to be the first Spanish manufacturer, incorporating the most
advanced technology available in the industry today.
Ecoforest is Currently developing an international expansion plan that focuses on high potential markets as South America, Russia, the United
States and China, a country with which it has already closed a joint venture to market their products in the Asian market

philosophy system implemented in all supply chain processes, is the basis of

From its factory, Ecoforest distributes bags of wood pellets across Europe.
Ecoforest carefully selects suitable wood remains, and then thoroughly processes
them to produce the finished pellet. Ecoforest does not hesitate at any time to
comply with the respect the environment deserves. Today, Ecoforest fuel pellets
are unrivalled as ecological wood fuel.

Innovation
and Technology
Ecoforests research and development centre is in Vigo, Spain.
Managed by teams of engineers, designers and experts in thermal
engineering, the centre works closely with major internationally
heating installation companies to solve specific engineering
challenges. Ecoforest also has the support of universities and
research centers, with which maintains strategic alliances; these
are essential to be constantly ahead in the development of
heating equipment.
Each solution the research and development team produces has
a practical application. In this sense, both the manufacturing
team and major suppliers work closely on developing these
solutions, in order to facilitate product manufacturing and
durability. Furthermore, Ecoforests research and development
centre has resources that include test bedches, pilot plants and
client installations that are monitored to validate products under
real conditions.
Ecoforest bet on R+D+i investing a 5% of its turnover and
certifing their R & D+i management systems with EQA, reaffirming
its commitment to proper management, standardized and
structured of all its projects.

of the heat transfer processes and method of calculating the speed
at which time they occur. Being on the cutting edge technology is
the result of our designers work and the results of the tests in our
laboratories, which are equipped with the latest technology.

electronic combustion-control, key to energy efficiency, which is
talked about increasingly. Over 20 years of experience guarantee
the work of Ecoforests electronics department, which continually
develops the specific proprietary technology our products require.

Materiales
Materials and processes define product life.
The Materials Engineering team is constantly working on specific
projects in cooperation with specialised technology centres.
The mechanical and chemical properties of materials, and the
processing and testing of these constitute a constant challenge,
both in primary processes (casting, forging, rolling, etc..) and in
processes in which semi-finished material is involved (welding,
painting, etc.).
