what is computer imaging?

computer manipulated imagery cannot be avoided in today's world. nearly any
packaging, advertising, or entertainment has been touched by some computer
manipulation program, such as Adobe Photoshop. the computer has been seamlessly
integrated into the artist and designer's toolkit, alongside the pen, pencil, and
paintbrush. digital imaging allows for a realism and flexibility in image editing that
was unheard of in the years before desktop publishing.

why is this class important?

Photoshop is an essential tool for today's artists, and today's design industry assumes
that all new workers have had experience using this digital tool. while many entering
this class will have had previous experience with Photoshop, it is a deep, robust
program with something new for everyone to learn- novices and professionals alike.
