Sonwil Vice President Jim Manno Presents at Ontario Business Summit

Comments address the Buffalo Niagara International Trade Gateway and other regional
trade and logistics initiatives
BUFFALO, NY Today Sonwil Distribution Center announced that vice president of
sales and marketing Jim Manno recently presented at the Greater Niagara Chamber of
Commerce Ontario Business Summit. Manno participated in a panel discussion entitled
Growth Through Export How to leverage skills, marketing, transportation and
innovation to get your product to a global audience, and discussed various regional
trade and logistics issues, as well as his role as the board president of the newly formed
Buffalo Niagara International Trade Gateway Organization (ITGO).
It was an honor to be invited to such a marquee event and speak on the challenges
and opportunities of international trade between the U.S. and Canada, said Manno.
Based on current trends in North American transportation and trade, there is
widespread belief that the coming years will bring an opportunity for added attention to
the logistics capabilities of our bi-national Buffalo Niagara region.
Joining Manno on the panel presentation was Canadian Consul General in New York
John Prato, president of the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation Terrence
Bowles, and Andrew Heinzman, president of the green energy venture capital firm
Investico.

The Buffalo Niagara International Trade Gateway Organization is a U.S. not-for-profit

entity whose purpose is to create a globally-recognized logistics center in Western New
York and Southern Ontario. As board president of the organization, Manno has led a
team of over 50 stakeholders in the creation of the initiative, which incorporates
infrastructure, workforce development, marketing and international trade policy into its
agenda for industry growth.
While ITGO is an initiative with roots in Western New York, I am very pleased to see
that our counterparts on the Canadian side of the border share our sentiments when it
comes to growing manufacturing jobs and spurring private investment through the
strengthening of regional logistics capabilities, said Manno. Sonwil Distribution has
worked in the bi-national market for years, and I believe we are just scratching the
surface with the job and investment growth that can be collectively achieved through
the pooling of resources and increased coordination.
