-------------------------Hello AM, Deb and All,
I have been looking at this chart too, and a few things have struck me.
Firstly, this man has made his money through technology that was unheard of
until the middle of last
century - so if we were "The Old Ancients" (mind you, I feel like one sometimes(Ancient!!)........we
would be looking at this chart with the mindset of the day - Health, Marriage,
Money, Power, Postion,
etc.
In Ancient Days, Mike Bloomberg may not have risen past the position of "Chief
Scribe" - (perhaps the
highest he could have gone using "communication" as his medium, and Saturn
disposing the Sun, Moon,
Mercury and Venus, would have ensured that he ended up "in charge" somewhere,
probably due to a lot of
hard work on his part. I'm sure he would have been a very wealthy Chief Scribe,
but not to the extent
that the electronic age of computers opened up for him last century.
There was only so far a "Chief Scribe" could go - it wasn't seen as a
Moneyspinner, or a terribly
powerful position, (when we compare it with army general, King, etc.
So, perhaps this explains why the ability to "make wealth" doesn't sort of jump
out and grab us with
this chart. He just would not have had the facility to make the sort of wealth
he has now.
He does have the Moon, Mercury (R) and Venus (R) in his Doryphory, PLUS Jupiter,
which casts it's ray by
trine to sit in front of the Mercuty at 11 Aquarius., and Mars and Saturn by a
square ray. (I will
explain later)
For anyone on the List who isn't familiar with the term Doryphory, I will quote
from:
"Study Guide for Ancient and Medieval Astrology" by Bernadette Brady.....Page
76...
"Ptolemy and the Doryphory"
Ptolemy, in the Tetrabiblos, Book 3, Chapter 5 (Ashmand Translation), looks at
the planets in a natal
chart and in doing so, he defines what he means by a doryphory.
"Thus, for example, the detree of their fortune and wealth will be indicated by
the Doryphory, or
attendants of the luminaries. If the Luminaries be accompanied, (EITHER IN THE

SAME SIGN, or in the

signs next following,) by the beneftics, and by such Stars or Planets as are of
the same tendency by
themselves, a conspicuous and brilliant fortune is presaged, especially should
the Sun be attended by
Matutine stars, and the Moon by Vespertine........"
So, for the Doryphory of the Sun (which in this chart is the Exalted Ruler of
the Midheaven), we see it
preceded by Moon at 17 Aquarius, Mercury (R) at 15 Aquarius, and Venus (R) at 5
Aquarius. All planets
in the same sign as the Sun, so they constitute the Doryphory of the Sun.
Now, further on, in page 77 of the Study Guide, as quoted above, it goes on to
say that:
"Later in the Tetrabiblos - Book 4, Chapter 3, Ptolemy again refers to the
doryphory as helping to
define a person's fame or rank... It is clear from this passage that Ptolemy is
working not only with
planets which are attending the luminaries via their location in the signs
either side of the Sun or the
Moon but also considering a planet's ability to HURL RAYS. So a doryphory may
consister of a planet that
aspects the degrees before the Sun, or after the Moon.
**(my own note here - in case this is confusing to anyone - planets aspects the
degrees before the Sun
in this case means from 25 Aquarius, down to 0Aquarius. The degrees before the
Sun are the earlier
degrees in the sign**
(continuing quote from Study Guide)...When Looking at the possible rays that a
planet can hurl, Ptolemy
indicates that not all planets can hurl all possible aspect rays. The way he
constructs the doryphory
is by allowing any planet to be involved in a conjunction, before the Sun or
after the Moon,
however.....BENEFICS CAN ONLY HURL TRINES AND SEXTILES - MALEFICS CAN ONLY HURL
SQUARES AND OPPOSITIONS)
So, for this man we see the Doryphory of his Sun, (that which presages great
wealth for him) to be...
Sun is at 25 Aquarius
Saturn casts a square ray from 22 Taurus into 22 Aquarius.
Moon is at 17 Aquarius.
Mars casts a square ray from 18 Taurus into 18 Aquarius
Mercury (R) is at 15 Aquarius
Jupiter, signifier of wealth (as per Sandy's post) casts a TRINE RAY from 11
Gemini into 11 Aquarius.
Venus (R) is at 6 Aquarius.
THIS MAN HAS EVERY PLANET IN THE CHART IN HIS DORYPHORY. HOW MUCH MORE
SUCCESSFUL COULD HE BE? Every
planet in his chart assists him because it is part of his
Doryphory..............
Sun is exalted ruler of the Chart

Mars is ruler of the Midheaven.

Moon rules the Asc.
Venus rules the IC, and
Saturn rules the 7th Cusp,
Jupiter is exalted ruler of the Asc.
So most of the Doryphory rules an angle. Also, Jupiter is "at the bends" midpointing the Nodal Axis,
so the way this man chose to use the "huge amount of information" that a Jupiter
in Gemini could convey,
is what brought the riches to him.
I could go on and on, but the thing is.......I know Jupiter is in Detriment, and
Mercury is (R) etc, but
this man has made a fortune from setting up a Data Bank, (Jupiter in Gemini heaps of
information/communication), about Stocks, Stares etc. (Mercury the Trader Mercury (R) a constant
"going back for information" - in this case, the (R) nature would work well his facility is one that
people constantly "re-visit" access heaps of information.
This is just my take, although based on information from the Tetrabiblos - would
be interested to hear
any comments.....

-----------------------------------------=========================================
Yes, Jupiter does expand whatever it touches, and true, it is in it's fall
in Virgo and detriment in Gemini,
BUT, in the right context, it can work wonders.
Look at the Natal Chart of Mike Bloomberg - he has Jupiter in detriment in
Gemini (at the bends - indicating that an excess of information will be
something that will challenge him in life, and the way he handles this
challenge will affect him in his life)
This Jupiter in Gemini is in trine to it's dispositor ,Mercury in Aquarius.
This man made an absolute fortune by setting up data banks which people
could access to provide information...>>>
>>Bloomberg was a general partner at Salomon Brothers, where he headed
equity trading, sales and, later, systems development. He made his fortune
with his own company, Bloomberg L.P., selling financial information
terminals to Wall Street firms; the company also began a radio network (the
flagship station is 1130 WBBR-AM in New York City).
Bloomberg is among the world's richest people.>>..(From the Internet).......
So in this case, the ability to learn how to harness the energy of "excesses
of information" (Jupiter in Gemini), is what made this man his fortune. He
also has a very interesting chart, as most of his Natal planets are in his
Doryphory.
This is his birth data.

------------------------------------------Hello Sam,
Can you remember what the posts were called in the archives that you are
referring to? Or are you able to send some of them to the List, so that we know
what you have been viewing?
From my perspective, - as a flat answer to your question (meaning, not taking
any other planetary configurations or aspects in the chart into the equation),
then No, I wouldn't think
that just this alone could
indicate fame. The reason I am saying this, is that Bush's Sun is:
Cadent - deep in the 12th house, ...... cadency usually implies that a person
will need others to help them achieve their goals - so although his Sun is
conjunct a fortunate Fixed
Star, he would still need a lot of help from others to achieve his goals.
There are a lot of things which can indicate rank and fame in a chart, so I
don't think that we can just look at one planet and it's possible connection to
a Fixed Star, and
ascertain fame from that. He doesn't, for example have planets in a Doryphory to
assist that Sun, although Venus would both throw in a Ray by sextile, and Venus
is the ruler of his
I.C. - (his dynastic line through the Father - perhaps this is an indication
that his Father or family could help him ), - and Venus does trine his
Midheaven.
Venus also throws in a ray by sextile behind his Moon, so is part of his Moon
Doryphory - and the Moon disposes his Sun on Sirius, so perhaps - I don't know this could all be
saying that he will get help in his profession (Radical Venus - strengthened by
accidental dignity in the First house, in trine to the Midheaven), through Both
his Father and his
Mother.
Mars, the ruler of his Midheaven, is in his second house - showing that he can
make money from his chosen Profession, but that Mars is conjunct Zosma - an
often difficult Fixed Star.
What I do find interesting, is that Zosma is in the Constelation (Delta) Leo,
and quoting from information about this Constellation, (page 185......The
Astrological Influence of the
Fixed Stars), Anne Wright...
">>>>>Royal events, elections, coming to power, deaths, assasinations and
murders of kings, queens, presidents, popes, Dictaros, important figures.
Invasion, declarations of war,

storming of palaces, revolutions, conferences with heads of states, military

force, shows of force (bombs developed),....>>>>> etc.
Silva. (my daughter has Sirus on her Midheaven, but I am certainly not expecting
fame to come to her in her lifetime - I think, as with all Astrology, one must
take the chart as a
whole - one factor alone could help, but there could be others detracting from
this.)

Hello All,
Dear me, Mercury (R) is affecting me badly this time (this (R) Mercury is
currently tr. the third house of my chart - )
I meant to put in this, but didn't, that I see the Ray that Venus throws into
the Doryphory of the chart of Bush as being quite significant as it:
Rules the intercepted Midheaven, and
aspects that Midheaven by a trine aspect.
It also rules, - and sextiles -the IC - so it rules and aspects two angles.
When this happens, the wheels can really start to move.
Mercury also throws it's ray in ahead of the Sun by sextile aspect, and it's a
long way ahead of the Sun, but Mercury does rule Bush's 11th house of friends,
as Steven has remarked on in
his posts.
(comments on the Doryphory taken from Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos, "Of Parents", pages
241-243)
Comments on the Doryphory as follows, are taken from page 75, " Study Guide for
Medieval and Ancient Astrology, " - Bernadette Brady (who was my
teacher)........
The Doryphory.........
>>>>The Greek and medieval astrologer paid particular attention to how planets
were situated around the luminaries. Ptolemy named these planetary or Ray
Clusters around the luminaries a
Doryphory and they seem to have a similar origin to the older concept of Spear
Bearers.>>

Spear Bearers..........(***This is what I am referring to in these posts***)

>>The Greek system of Spear Bearers is a way of looking at what planets help
other planets or the luminaries. The manner by which a Spear Bearer helps a
planet is by rasting Rays,
(aspects) to the degrees behind or in front of the Luminary or planet. This is
also the basic concept of Ptolemy's description of a doryphory.>>>>>>>
