Asalreadyexplained,theactivevoiceoftheverbusedwhenthesubjectoftheverbrefers
tothepersonwhodoestheactionorfinesasdescribedverbs.Incontrast,passivevoiceof
theverbusedwhenthesubjectoftheverbreferstothepersonorobjectthatreceivesthe
actionasdescribedverbs.Onlyverbsthattakeanobjectthatcanbeusedaspassivevoice.

Passive voice is more commonly used English than other European languages such as
GermanorFrench.Passivevoiceisusedextensivelyinofficialdocumentsandpapers.

For every tense in the active voice, there is a link in the passive tense voice. In passive
