Introduction:
Students and I will review what we learned on Tuesday. We will discuss
what we thought versus what we learned.
Watch YouTube video, which depicts the word capacity in another form of
visual representation for the students.
Inform students of todays activity and exploration.
Activity:
Students will be given a worksheet that has a variety of containers listed.
The students job is to estimate and measure how many mugs, water
bottles, milk cartons, etc. of water will it take to fill their bucket up to full
capacity.
Students will be completing the task in groups of 4 or 5 students.
Plenary:
To wrap up the lesson the students will share out their findings and
complete the measurements on the smartboard.
Students and I will discuss how this lesson helped them understand
capacity better. Ask students if they have any questions after their
exploration today.
Assessment/Monitoring:
Oral - children's responses to questions during the discussion.
Written through the completion of childrens worksheets
Photographs as a record of children's work.
