Introduction to the Chakras and This Book

Welcome!
If you are reading this book, then you are acknowledging yourself and your power within. You are brave
and strong and are not afraid to take a deep look into your heart and soul and cleanse away any dust
that may have settled. You are ready to shine brighter. And I am so excited to take this journey with
you.
How to Use This Workbook
This book provides information about the seven chakras. It also contains questions and statements that
pertain to each chakra. As you read these questions and statements, consider how they make you feel.
Are you comfortable with your answers to the questions? Do the statements feel true or false? Are you
in alignment with the way they make you feel or would you like to make some changes?
Positive Change and transformation is what this workbook is all about. It is also about empowerment.
When we realize and notice where we are free flowing in our lives, it encourages us to deepen this flow,
love ourselves, and be authentic. Some areas of life may feel more stagnant, but we have the ability to
change this if we so choose. In fact, you are the only person who can change your life. No one else can
do it for you, and owning that and taking responsibility for and action in your life is wonderfully
empowering.
There are spaces throughout the workbook for you to make notes about what comes up as you journey
through these pages. Take some time to record your thoughts and feelings. Then, either in the moment
or later on, sort through these contemplations in a way that is meaningful for you. Sometimes, just the
awareness is enough. Other times, more may be needed. Perhaps journaling will work or prayer.
Maybe you prefer talk therapy or EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or guided imagery. A
forgiveness ceremony or other ritual may be beneficial depending on the circumstances. Use whatever
techniques you are intuitively drawn to use.
I do not recommend any certain method because we are each unique and each individual may benefit
most from a different approach. At the back of this book I have provided a list of techniques that may
be helpful, but keep in mind that this list is far from exhaustive. Investigate your options and determine
what is best for you. That being said, if you discover aspects of your life that you wish to change, there
are a couple steps you can take to assist transformation regardless of the approaches you choose. Begin
by taking some time to think about how you would be if this change had already been made. In other
words, what kind of person would live the life for which you are aiming? Be that person; become your
best vision of yourself. Then ask yourself how you would feel if that change was already made and try to
tap into that feeling and experience it now. You may discover that this significantly helps you to make
changes more easily. Also ask yourself why you want to make a change. Get in touch with the feeling
behind the desire. It is feelings and emotions that motivate our actions. If you can tap into the feeling

of being a certain way, then you can more easily tap into actually being that way. And if there is no
positive feeling behind your reason for wanting something, then perhaps you do not truly want it.
If you have downloaded this book as a PDF, I suggest that you print it out, perhaps one chapter at a
time, so that you can handwrite your responses to the questions. Writing things out by hand helps us to
better connect with what we are thinking. It is more powerful and beneficial to hand write your
responses rather than simply contemplating them in your mind or typing them electronically. After all,
this is not just a book, it is a workbook.
I highly recommend going through the book in order. Each chakra is a higher vibration than the previous
and getting comfortable with each vibration before advancing to the next just makes sense. If you want
to build a tall building, or even a short one, you want to have a firm foundation upon which to build it.
Because all things are inter-related, you may notice that some aspects of the different chakras are
similar. Healing issues related to one energy center may change aspects of your life related to another
chakra. Dont rush through the book; take your time. Spend however long you need on each chakra,
and keep in mind that personal evolution is an ongoing process that never really ends. Moving to the
next chakra does not mean that work with the previous ones is complete. Giving attention to all
aspects of ourselves keeps us balanced.
What are the Chakras?
There are many variations of the chakra system, but this book uses the Hindu seven chakra
interpretation. Chakras are wheels of light that form at the major branches of the nervous system.
The chakras are energetic structures, but they serve as a meeting place between subtle and physical
energies. This means that they can interact with, influence, and be influenced by subtle energies such as
thoughts and emotions, but they also interact with the physical body. The chakras govern glands,
organs, and areas of the physical body and also govern different life lessons and areas of spiritual
development. By working with the chakras, we can improve our health - physically, mentally, and
spiritually.
The chakras are conical in shape and extend outward about one foot both in front of and behind the
body along the axis of the spine. These cones are actually vortices that spin and form a vacuum. As they
spin, they draw in and send out energy of specific vibrations. Each chakra from the base of the spine to
the top of the head operates at a higher vibration than the one below it. Because each chakra has its
own vibration, each one is associated with different emotions, lessons, colors, gem stones, aromas,
senses, aspects of life, etc. Unprocessed energy (emotions, beliefs, experiences, etc.) may block the
balanced flow of energy through a chakra and manifest as physical, mental, or spiritual illness,
dysfunction, or dis-ease. By paying attention to the body, mind, and spirit, we may recognize an
imbalanced chakra. By working with the energies of that chakra and processing our emotions and
beliefs, we can rebalance our energy flow and improve our wellbeing.
This workbook provides an opportunity for you to gain new awareness and hopefully enhance your life.
It is not a form of diagnosis or treatment. If you have a health concern or serious health issue, please
contact a trained healthcare practitioner. Congratulations on setting aside this time for you. The more

in touch with yourself and centered in yourself you are, the happier and more peaceful you are; and the
happier and more peaceful you are, the more joy and peace there is in the world.
Om. Peace. Blessings!

Julie
