Integration of Advanced Programmable Logic Controller and Electronic Sensors in Automation and

Process Control
Introduction
The programmable logic controller is an essential equipment in any industrial process. It
functions as the brain and control of all the sensors and actuators found in any process system where
PLC is integrated. The different parts of the PLC such as the input and output (I/O) ports, relays and the
power supply will be discussed thoroughly in this course.
The fundamentals and the working principles behind the PLC will be explained carefully in this
program as this will better equip the participants to the use of the PLC in process automation. This
course also tackles the different areas where the PLC is used in manufacturing through the control of
pneumatic and/or hydraulic actuators.
Sensors are integral parts of an automation system as its function is essential to the accuracy of
the manufacturing of a certain product. These devices have greatly advanced and the need to further
understand their use is greatly necessary. In this course, the influence of these advanced equipment will
be thoroughly evaluated and discussed for the best understanding of engineering professionals.
