The passing of the home-buyer tax credit's initial expiration date
New Listings 2
hasn't yet slowed the urgency of home buyers in the Austin Pending Sales 3
region, as November saw a continuation of the strong sales Closed Sales 4
we've seen in previous months.
Days On Market Until Sale 5
There were 1,389 signed purchase agreements during the Median Sales Price 6
month, up 16.6 percent from a year ago.
Average Sales Price 7
Because many of the homes being purchased are first-time Percent of Original List Price Received at Sale 8
home buyer properties, the overall median sales price was
weighed down from a year ago by 2.7 percent to $175,000. Housing Affordability Index 9
That's not the only reason prices are declining, but is a Housing Supply Outlook
significant factor nonetheless. These soft prices are combining
with continued low mortgage rates to improve affordability All Residential Properties 10
dramatically. Under $125,000 and $125,001 to $175,000 11
$175,001 to $250,000 and $250,001 to $400,000 12
$400,001 to $750,000 and $750,001 and above 13

The HAI formula measures housing affordability for the Austin Housing Market. An HAI of 120 means
