What 3 ministry ideas stood out to you and why?
The three that stood out the most were the prayer ministries, the spiritual mentoring and
multiplying ministries, and Christian education ministries. The prayer ministries stood out
because of how important it is to be continually praying and can have such a wide impact. There
is truly power in prayer. The spiritual mentoring and multiplying ministries stood out because
Jesus commanded us to share the message and make disciples of others so they in turn can fulfill
the Great Commission. Mentoring is important too because it helps us grow in our own faith and
better equips us to share the Gospel. It also lets us share in accountability. Christian education
also stood out because of how important it is for us to know the Gospel so we are equipped to
share it with others. It sharpens, builds, and molds our intellect so we can have the mind of
Christ.

Do you currently participate in these kinds of ministries? If so, how can your research help
you enhance what you are doing? If not, how can you include these ides in your ministry?
I am currently participating in a small group Bible study. Learning what other churches do and
the programs they offer can provide ideas and tools to implement in my Bible study. This will
spark and add strategic conversation amongst other people of God to transform possible how we
communicate with each other and others outside of the Bible study. Christian education should
be an ongoing conversation with God and participants whether with believers or the lost.
According to the Great Commisssion, we are commanded to go out and make disciples which
implicitly should include Christian education.

What differences did you identify between these churches?

CHMN 201

The three churches seemed to be quite similar but varied somewhat in their top priority. The first
two churches seemed to focus on outreach to others both in the community and globally. They
had many programs to offer their own members as well but the focus seemed to be on reaching
out. The last church in the list seemed to have a priority of building each other up and forming
communities and relationships first and then on reaching out to others. The third church also did
not appear to offer quite as many ministries and small groups as the other two churches.

Do you think that size, geographic location or financial resources should influence your
philosophy of ministry? If so, how? If not, why not?
I do not think that size, geographic location or financial resources should influence my
philosophy of ministry. My reason for saying no is because I do not have a revelation
from God telling me otherwise. Depending on others purposes, which I feel is revealed
through the Holy Spirit, those things might be a factor. For example, according to the
website of The Brooklyn Tabernacle, they are located in the heart of Brooklyn because
part of their mission is to reach those in the inner city and to be cross cultural and reach
those of all races and nations. My subjective opinion is to rely on the purposefulness of
God as in Isaiah 23:9 where it states The LORD of Hosts planned it,
to desecrate all itsgloriousbeauty, to disgrace all thehonored ones of the earth.
(HCSB) I think it is all too easy sometimes to get caught up in our will be done. We
need to stay constantly in prayer and have a responsible support team that realizes that
our purpose and mission is Gods will be done. If we continue to keep Christ as our
focus, His glory and truth will shine through. The Word became flesh

and took up residence amongus. We observed Hisglory, the glory as the One and
OnlySon fromtheFather, full of grace andtruth. (John 1:14 HCSB)
