Situation in India
To maintain economic growth between 8 and 9 per cent per year, it is absolutely necessary for

Treatment capacity available for domestic wastewater is only 5,900 MLD against 8,000 MLD
of industrial wastewater. With the demand for water to be 50 per cent higher by 2030, it has
become imperative for the country to invest in adequate and sustainable water recycling and
reusing initiatives.
