Introduction
The history of Keshmen Consult Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Kesh Consult Sdn.
Bhd.) started in 1994. It was incorporated in 1997 as Kesh Consult Sdn Bhd to
provide Civil and Structural engineering consultancy services.
Keshmen Consult Sdn. Bhd. was then incorporated in 2004, with the introduction of
two new partners, to continue to provide excellent Civil and Structural engineering
consultancy services to our expanding list of clients.

Experience

Mr. Beng Low has 25 years of project management and structural


engineering experience, specializing in institutional, commercial and
high rise structures. He has extensive experience in performance based
design using non-linear pushover analysis. He is the principal in charge
of various complex projects, including several multi-storey buildings and
special structures
Mr. Low is the founder of the engineering firm Keshmen Consult Sdn
Bhd. He is a licensed professional structural engineer in the State of
California and is also a registered professional engineer in Malaysia
After graduating with a Masters degree in Structural Engineering at
Ohio State University, Mr. Low joined Sargent and Lundy, Chicago and
was responsible for the design of Nuclear and Fossil Power Generating
Plants for 2 years. After which, he joined Impell Corporation as a Senior
Structural Engineer and was responsible for the design of Oil Refinery
Structures, Seismic Upgrading of Existing Structures in California,
Commercial and Industrial Steel Buildings and Power Generating
Facilities for another 2 years. He joined Datum Engineering in 1990 to
1993 and was responsible for the design of high rise and office buildngs,
such as EDS Headquarter at Texas.
He established Kesh Consult Sdn. Bhd. in 1994 and was responsible for
managing and supervising all the projects of Kesh Consult Sdn. Bhd.
Previous projects include the 30-storey Upper East Ampang
condominium at Kampung Pandan Tengah, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur,

In 2004, Mr. Low reestablished his contacts in the United States and has
since provided structural consultancy services for prestigious multistory
projects such as performing seismic evaluation on the 9-storey 810,000
square-foot building based on ASCE41 for Bank of America Building
located at 1 South Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, California, USA and
performing conceptual design study for a full seismic upgrade of an
eight-story 60,000-square-foot historic retail and office building at 1095
Market Street, San Francisco, California, USA.

After graduating, Mr. Kevin Low joined SC Solutions, a high-end


analysis firm specializing in finite element analysis and earthquake
engineering, where he was responsible for the analysis of a number of
high profile projects, including the Market Street underground light rail
station on San Franciscos new Central Subway, Chevron Australias
Wheatstone LNG Platform, the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant and
the seismic retrofit of the 1930s built San Francisco Bay Bridge West
Span.

Following this, he joined the Structural Engineering division at


Creegan& DAngelo, where he was entrusted with the seismic upgrade
of the hose tower at San Mateo County North Division Fire Station, the
complete design of the superstructure and substructure of a pre-stressed
I-girder bridge across Little Uvas Creek, and the design of various
lightweight timber structures.

2014-date

At Keshmen Consult, he is currently on the team responsible for the


coordinated design of Media Village Medini (MVM) situated in the
Iskandar Development Region in Johor, Malaysia. MVM is a RM1
billion mixed-use development containing seven towers, the tallest of
which is 44 storeys,two retail podiums, a 3 level basement, and the
Global Village, which is comprised of 7 ethnically-themed continents
serving as retail areas.

He formed Perunding GSC in 2006 and was responsible for managing


and supervising projects include foundation design/investigation of
Bridge over Jalan Durian, Klang, Perfect Eagle at Ampang, Kuala
Lumpur and Universiti Teknologi Mara Campus at Selangor.

He established Geo-Excel Consultants Sdn. Bhd. in 2007 and was


responsible for all projects of Geo-Excel Consultant Sdn. Bhd. Recent
projects include slope strengthening design for Singapore House at
Frasers Hill, slope strengthening and foundation design for SPB Tower
2, Bukit Damansara, temporary sheet pile cofferdam for the deep
excavation in soft clay formation for Ann Joo Factory, Seberang Prai,
Geotechnical interpretative assessment and full scale soil-structure
modelling and analysis for the floating piled raft foundation of the main
structures for the blast furnace project for Lion Blast Furnace at Banting.
Others projects include contiguous bored pile wall for basement
excavation, Taman Sari Kuala Lumpur, soil nail wall for 10m height
slope at housing development at Bukit Permata, Gombak, well guard
wall system for river bank protection at Sungai Junjung, Penang.
