The 3Com IntelliJack Gigabit Switch NJ2000 (3CNJ2000) is a 5-port, Webmanaged gigabit Ethernet switch that fits into most standard electrical wall
outlets or data port openings. The NJ2000 can also be mounted on the
desktop using the optional desk stand, 3CNJ1000STAND, as shown below.
Throughout this guide, the 3Com IntelliJack Gigabit Switch NJ2000
(3CNJ2000) is referred to as the NJ2000. This Quick Start Guide describes the
basic steps necessary to install and configure your NJ2000.

Overview of the NJ2000 and Its Features

The front of the NJ2000 has four gigabit LAN ports for local switching. The
gigabit LAN uplink port on the rear connects it to the rest of the network.
The NJ2000 brings gigabit switching capabilities to any single port on an
Ethernet network by allowing connections for up to four networking devices
such as computers, servers, access points, IP cameras, and Voice Over IP (VoIP)
telephones to the network through a single Ethernet connection.
All 5 LAN ports feature 10/100/1000 Mbps with auto-negotiation and auto
MDI-X. The NJ2000 also provides 2 pass-through ports that can be used to
connect 2 additional devices to separate network segments through the same
unit.
Power is provided to the NJ2000 either through the uplink port via 802.3at or
802.3af PoE (Power over Ethernet) or locally via an optional, external 48V DC
power supply, 3CNJ1000PSL.
NOTE: PoE, or Power Over Ethernet, is a method for providing power to
equipment over an Ethernet cable, allowing a device to receive both data and
power from the same network cable. PoE power may be provided on port 1 or
port 2 of the NJ2000 if there is sufficient power available to the system. See
the section Understand the PoE Capabilities for Port 1 and Port 2 later in this
guide for details.
NJ2000 Basics
This diagram shows the front and side views of the NJ2000. The table
describes the features.

4 Gigabit LAN

Allows you to connect up to four devices to the network.

A green LED indicates connection status when a device is using a
particular port.
Port 1 and port 2 are also power-forwarding ports; they can be used
with any standard networking device as well as to power any device
that requires IEEE 802.3af-compatible PoE.
An additional LED indicates when the port is forwarding power to a
device connected to that port.
Two pass-through
ports
The pass-through ports bypass the functionality of the switch and are
directly wired to the associated pass-through ports on the rear of the
unit. Pass-through ports allow connection to a separate network
segment or connection of an analog or digital PBX telephone.

Indicate whether the NJ2000 is being powered by a local power

supply (DC) or PoE.
Uplink LED
Indicates network connection status for the uplink port on the rear of
the unit.
A green LED indicates a valid connection for the uplink port.
Local Power Socket Can be used to power the NJ2000 with the optional local power
supply, 3CNJ1000PSL. NOTE: This power supply is required if the
local network does not supply Power over Ethernet.
Locking screw hole Used to secure the NJ2000 to the wall-mount plate.
Reset Button
Press and hold <20 seconds to reset the NJ2000

Press and hold >20 seconds to erase the password and reset the unit to
factory defaults

This equipment must be installed in compliance with local and national
building codes, regulatory restrictions, and FCC rules. See the section
Regulatory Notices at the end of this guide. For the safety of people and
equipment, only professional network personnel should install the NJ2000.
WARNING: To avoid possible injury or damage to equipment, you must
use power supply equipment that is safety certified according to UL, CSA,
IEC, or other applicable national or international safety requirements for
the country of use. All references to power supply in this document refer to
equipment meeting these requirements.
Check the Shipment

The NJ2000 is available in single- and 20-unit packs. Make sure that you have
the following items, which are included with each NJ2000:
NJ2000
Screw kit for wall mounting the NJ2000
Male-to-male RJ-45 coupler cables (2 per NJ2000) for connecting the
Ethernet cable from the network to the NJ2000. NOTE: For use only if the
network cable is terminated with a female RJ-45 connector.

installation requirements and the PoE capability of your network. If you
choose to use any of these items, be sure that they are on hand before
you begin the installation.

Installation Overview for the NJ2000

Detailed installation instructions are included in the sections that follow.
The following diagram displays an overview of the recommended installation.
In this example, the NJ2000 is being connected to an Ethernet network cable
that is terminated with a female RJ-45 connector.
1. Understand the Power Options

Power to the NJ2000 can be supplied in one of these ways:
Through PoE (either 802.3at or 802.3af) applied to the uplink port
or
Through the optional local external power supply
If power is supplied to the uplink port by 802.3at or by the external power

supply, then ports 1 and 2 may act as PoE PSE (Power Source Equipment) and
may also provide power to other devices plugged into those ports.
If power is supplied by 802.3af, then port 1 and 2 will not be able to supply
PoE power.
2. Understand the PoE Capabilities for Port 1 and Port 2

If power is supplied by 802.3at through the uplink port (PD) or if power is
supplied through the external power supply, then ports 1 and 2 may in turn
act as PoE PSE and may provide power.
If power is provided to the NJ2000 by the uplink port (PD) with 802.3at PoE or
with the external power supply, then the NJ2000 will have a total PoE PSE
budget of 15.4W, which can be divided between port 1 and port 2 based on
the class-based power management feature.
The NJ2000 can power these combinations of devices:
One Class 0,3 PD device or
Two Class 2 PD devices or
Two Class 1 PD devices or
One Class 1 PD device and One Class 2 PD device
CAUTION: You must use only a power supply that is provided or approved by
3Com for use with this NJ2000. Failure to comply with this requirement may
result in damage to the NJ2000, or may result in a hazardous situation or
personal injury.
3. Plan the Installation

When installed, the back of the NJ2000 extends into a wall for 0.5 inches.
Because the depth of some wall openings differs, observe the following
requirements and recommendations before you install the NJ2000:
Make sure that the wall opening where the NJ2000 is being installed
complies with the NEMA-WD6 standard, as described in this diagram:
Make sure that the distance between the back of the NJ2000 and the
inside of the wall is at least 1.5 inches (3 inches is recommended).

NOTE: If you are installing the NJ2000 into a wall junction box, make sure that
there is enough space between the back of the NJ2000 and the inside of the
junction box to maintain an acceptable bend radius on the cable.
To ensure proper horizontal cabling functionality, adhere to the following
network cabling standards during installation:

4. Attach the Wall-Mount Bracket

Attach the included wall-mount bracket to the wall opening as shown in this
diagram.
5. Set Up the Network Cabling

The network cabling (from the wiring closet to the wall opening) may already
be installed. If it is not, install the cabling following these general guidelines.
CAUTION: 3Com recommends that a professional cable installer perform
these procedures. Be sure to adhere to local safety and regulatory codes
during the cable installation.
1 Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the network. Usually, this
connection is made in a network wiring closet, via the patch panel.

2 Terminate the other end of the cable at the location where the NJ2000 is
being installed (using either a female or male RJ-45 connector). Refer to

the connector manufacturer's instructions for terminating the cable. Be
sure to test the connector and verify that it is working.
6. Connect the NJ2000 to the Network

The method for connecting the NJ2000 to the network is determined by how
the network cable is terminated, as described in step 5.
If the end of the cable is terminated with a female RJ-45 connector, use
one of the RJ-45 coupler cables included in the NJ2000 package to

connect the NJ2000 to the network cable.
If the end of the cable is terminated with a male connector, connect the
network cable directly into the Ethernet uplink port.
7. Mount the NJ2000 to the Wall

After you connect the NJ2000 to the network, follow these steps, as shown in
the next figure:
1 Mount the NJ2000 to the wall-mount bracket.
CAUTION: Make sure that the vents along the edges of the NJ2000 faceplate
are clear of any obstructions to allow airflow to vents.
2 Slide the NJ2000 onto the wall-mount bracket, ensuring that the 4 hooks
on the bracket fit into the 4 slots on the back of the NJ2000.
3 Pull the NJ2000 down to lock the hooks tightly into the slots. Be sure to
match the screwholes in the bracket and the NJ2000. Secure the NJ2000
using the T-10 torx screw that came in the NJ2000 package

8. Connect the Local Power Supply (Optional)

If the network does not support PoE, you can use the optional local power
supply. To connect the local power supply to the NJ2000, follow these steps:
1 Connect the round connector of the local power supply to the NJ2000 (as
shown in the next diagram).

2 Plug the power cord of the local power supply into an AC outlet.
WARNING: Use only the local power supply available from 3Com. Failure to
do so may result in damage to the NJ2000 or may result in a hazardous
situation.

9. Connect Devices to the NJ2000

Now you may connect networking devices such as computers, servers, access
points, IP cameras, and Voice Over IP (VoIP) telephones to any of the four LAN
ports on the front of the NJ2000. Remember, if power is supplied to the
NJ2000 by 802.3at or via the local, external power supply, then PoE PSE power
will be available on ports 1 and 2.
10. Access the NJ2000 Web Interface

To access the web interface on the NJ2000, you must first determine its IP
address. Select the method that best matches your network.
Find the IP Address on Networks That Have a DHCP Server
If your network has a DHCP server, an IP address is automatically assigned to
the NJ2000. The NJ2000 takes between 1 and 2 minutes to detect a DHCP
server on the network.
Use one of these options to determine the IP address that the DHCP server
assigns to the NJ2000:
Access your DHCP server to determine the IP address that it assigned.
Use the optional, free 3Detect utility. See step 12, Downloading and
Installing 3Detect Software, later in this guide.

Find the IP Address on Networks Without a DHCP Server
If your network does not have a DHCP server, the NJ2000 uses its factoryassigned default IP address: 169.254.1.251.
11. Configure the NJ2000

To configure the NJ2000, follow these steps:
1 Lauch your computers web browser. In the address bar, enter your
NJ2000s IP address and press Enter.

2 At the Login screen, type the password and click Log On. The default
password: password
3 Use the menu on the left side of the screen to review and change any
settings.

12. Download and Install the 3Detect Software (Optional)

To simplify discovery of the NJ2000 on the network:
1 Turn your computer on, launch your web browser, and point to
www.3com.com
2 Select Support > Downloads & Drivers. To locate and download the
3Detect software, enter 3CNJ2000 and then select Utility Software.

3 Download and expand the software, and then run setup.exe
4 Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
Using 3Detect Software

With the 3Com 3Detect software, you can discover the NJ2000s on a
subnetwork and determine their IP addresses. Follow these steps:
1 Connect your computer to the NJ2000 either directly or over the network.
2 Launch 3Detect from the Windows Start menu:
Start > Programs : 3Com 3Detect > 3Detect
When 3Detect discovers your NJ2000, it displays it on the main screen.
3 Select your NJ2000 in the list and then click Properties. Make a note of the IP address.
4 Repeat the process for each NJ2000 in the network.
13. Troubleshooting: Check the LEDs

Verify the NJ2000 installation by checking the LEDs according to this table:

Lavant du NJ2000 dispose de quatre ports gigabit LAN servant la
commutation locale. Le port ascendant gigabit LAN figurant au dos connecte
lappareil avec le rseau.
Le NJ2000 ajoute des capacits de commutation gigabit tout port figurant
sur un rseau Ethernet en proposant des connexions pour 4 priphriques de
rseau tels quordinateurs, serveurs, points daccs, camras IP et tlphones
VoIP (voix sur IP) par le biais dun seule connexion Ethernet.
Les 5 ports disposent de 10/100/1000 Mbit/s avec auto-ngociation et autoMDI-X. Le NJ2000 propose galement deux ports de passage servant
connecter deux priphriques supplmentaires des segments de rseau

Lalimentation du NJ2000 se fait soit par le biais du port ascendant via la

norme PoE 802.3at ou 802.3af, soit localement via une alimentation c.c.

guide. Pour garantir la scurit des personnes et des quipements, seul le
personnel charg de la gestion du rseau est autoris procder
l'installation du NJ2000.

1. Comprendre les options dalimentation

Lalimentation du NJ2000 peut se faire de diffrentes faons :
Via PoE (norme 802.3at ou 802.3af) au niveau du port ascendant
ou
Via lalimentation locale externe en option
Si le port ascendant est aliment par 802.3at ou de faon externe, les ports 1
et 2 peuvent agir comme injecteurs PoE et fournir le courant aux priphriques
branchs sur ces ports.
Si lalimentation se fait par 802.3af, les ports 1 et 2 ne seront pas en mesure
de tenir lieu dinjecteurs.
2. Comprendre les capacits PoE des ports 1 et 2

Si lalimentation se fait par 802.3at travers le port ascendant (quipement
aliment ou PD pour Power Device en anglais) ou si l'alimentation est externe,
les ports 1 et 2 peuvent tenir lieu dinjecteurs PoE et donc fournir du courant.
Si le NJ2000 est aliment par le port ascendant (quipement aliment) avec
802.3at PoE ou de faon externe, il dispose dun budget dinjection PoE de
15,4 W pouvant tre rpartie entre le port 1 et le port 2 selon la fonction
dconomie dnergie par classe.
Le NJ2000 peut alimenter ces combinaisons de priphriques :
Un quipement aliment de classe 0,3 ou
Deux quipements aliments de classe 2 ou
Deux quipements aliments de classe 1 ou
Un quipement aliment de classe 1 et un quipement aliment de classe
2
AVERTISSEMENT : Vous devez nutiliser que les sources dalimentation
fournies par 3Com ou celles dont lutilisation avec le NJ2000 a t approuve
par 3Com. Tout manquement cette condition risque dendommager le
NJ2000 ou de crer des situations dangereuses pour le matriel et les
personnes.

3. Planifier linstallation
Une fois install, le dos du NJ2000 sencastre de 0,5 pouce (1,27 cm) dans le
mur. Les ouvertures tant de profondeur diffrente, respectez les rgles ainsi
que les recommandations suivantes avant dinstaller le NJ2000.
Veuillez ce que louverture dans laquelle le NJ2000 va tre install soit
conforme la norme NEMA-WD6, comme illustr ci-dessous :
Veillez ce que la distance entre le dos du NJ2000 et la paroi interne soit
dau moins 1,5 pouce (3,81 cm) (une distance de 3 pouces (7,62 cm) est
recommande).
REMARQUE : si vous installez le NJ2000 dans une bote de jonction murale,
veillez ce quil y ait suffisamment d'espace entre le dos du NJ2000 et

4. Installer lattache murale

Fixez lattache murale en option sur louverture murale comme illustr dans la
figure.
5. Mettre en place le cblage rseau

Le cblage rseau (de larmoire louverture) est peut tre dj install. Si ce
n'est pas le cas, installez les cbles selon les consignes gnrales ci-dessous.
ATTENTION : 3Com recommande quun cbleur professionnel se charge de
ces procdures. Veillez bien vous conformer au code de scurit et au code
rglementaire au cours de l'installation.
1 Connectez lextrmit dun cble Ethernet au rseau. En gnral, ce
branchement se fait au niveau dune armoire de rpartition via le tableau

de connexions.
2 Connectez lautre extrmit du cble lendroit o le NJ2000 va tre
install (connecteur RJ45 mle ou femelle). Reportez-vous aux consignes

du fabricant de connecteurs pour le raccordement du cble. Testez le
connecteur et vrifiez s'il fonctionne.

6. Connecter le NJ2000 au rseau

La mthode de connexion du NJ200 est dtermine par le raccordement du
cble rseau, comme indiqu dans ltape 5.
Recommandation : si lextrmit du cble dispose dun connecteur RJ45
femelle, utilisez l'un des cbles de couplage RJ45 inclus dans le paquet
NJ2000 pour connecter le NJ200 au cble rseau.
Si lextrmit du cble dispose dun connecteur mle, branchez
directement le cble rseau dans le port Ethernet ascendant.
7. Monter le NJ2000 au mur

Aprs avoir connect le NJ2000 au rseau, effectuez les tapes suivantes,
comme illustr dans la figure ci-dessous.
1 Montez le NJ200 lattache murale et fixez-le au moyen de la vis torx T-10
incluse dans le paquet NJ2000.

ATTENTION : Veillez ce que les vents sur les cts du NJ2000 soient bien
dgags pour permettre le passage de lair.
2 Faites glisser le NJ2000 dans lattache murale en veillant ce que les 4
crochets rentrent bien dans les 4 encoches au dos du NJ2000.

3 Abaissez le NJ2000 pour bien enclencher les crochets dans les encoches.
Veillez bien aligner les trous de vis de lattache et du NJ2000.

8. Connecter lalimentation locale (en option)

Si le rseau ne prend pas le PoE en charge, vous avez la possibilit dutiliser
l'alimentation locale en option. Pour brancher lalimentation locale en option
au NJ2000, procdez comme suit :
1 Connectez le connecteur rond de lalimentation locale au NJ2000 (comme
illustr dans la figure suivante).

2 Branchez le cordon de lalimentation locale dans une prise de courant
alternatif.
AVERTISSEMENT : Utilisez uniquement lalimentation locale fournie par
3Com, faute de quoi le NJ200 pourrait tre endommag ou une situation
dangereuse pourrait se prsenter.

9. Connecter les priphriques au NJ2000

Vous pouvez maintenant connecter les priphriques rseau tels
qu'ordinateurs, serveurs, points daccs, camras IP et tlphones VoIP (voix
sur IP) aux ports LAN situs sur le devant du NJ2000. Rappelez-vous que si le
NJ200 est aliment par 802.3at ou via une source locale externe, les ports 1 et
2 sont en mesure de fournir du courant PoE par injection.
10. Accder linterface Web NJ2000

Pour accder linterface Web sur le NJ2000, vous devez tout dabord
dterminer ladresse IP. Slectionnez la mthode qui convient le mieux votre
rseau.
Recherche de ladresse IP sur un rseau quip dun serveur DHCP
Si votre rseau comprend un serveur DHCP, une adresse IP est
automatiquement attribue au NJ2000. Il faut une deux minutes au NJ2000
pour dtecter la prsence dun serveur DHCP sur le rseau.
Utilisez lun de ces options pour dterminer ladresse IP que le serveur DHCP a
attribu au NJ2000.
Accdez au serveur DHCP pour dterminer ladresse IP attribue.
Utilisez lutilitaire gratuit 3Detect en option. Reportez-vous ltape 12,
Tlcharger et installer le logiciel 3Detect , figurant ultrieurement dans

ce guide.
Recherche de ladresse IP sur un rseau sans serveur DHCP
Si votre rseau ne comprend pas de serveur DHCP, le NJ2000 utilise ladresse
IP par dfaut : 169.254.1.251.

11. Configurer le NJ2000

Pour configurer le NJ2000, procdez comme suit :
1 Lancez le navigateur Web de votre ordinateur. Dans la barre dadresse,
entrez ladresse IP du NJ2000 puis appuyez sur Entre.

2 lcran de connexion, saisissez le mot de passe puis cliquez sur Log On.
Le mot de passe par dfaut est : password

3 Servez-vous du menu situ sur la gauche de lcran pour consulter et
modifier les paramtres.
12. Tlcharger et installer le logiciel 3Detect en option

Pour simplifier la reconnaissance du NJ2000 sur le rseau :
1 Allumez votre ordinateur, lancez le navigateur Web et pointez vers
www.3com.fr
2 Slectionnez Support > Tlchargements et drivers. Pour rechercher et
tlcharger le logiciel 3Detect, saisissez 3CNJ2000 puis slectionnez

Utility Software.
3 Tlchargez et dcompressez le logiciel puis excutez le fichier setup.exe
4 Suivez les instructions lcran pour procder linstallation.
Utilisation du logiciel 3Detect

Le logiciel 3Detect de 3Com vous permet de dcouvrir les NJ2000 au niveau
dun sous-rseau et de dterminer leur adresse IP. Procdez comme suit :
1 Connectez votre ordinateur au NJ2000, directement ou par le biais du rseau.
2 Lancez 3Detect partir du menu Dmarrer de Windows :
Dmarrer > Programmes : 3Com 3Detect > 3Detect
Lorsque 3Detect dtecte le NJ2000, il laffiche lcran principal.
3 Slectionnez votre NJ2000 dans la liste puis cliquez sur Proprits. Notez ladresse IP.
4 Rptez la procdure pour chaque NJ2000 du rseau.

Auf der Vorderseite des NJ2000 befinden sich vier Gigabit-LAN-Ports fr
lokales Switching. ber den Gigabit-LAN-Uplink-Port auf der Rckseite wird
die Verbindung mit dem restlichen Netzwerk hergestellt.
Der NJ2000 verleiht allen einzelnen Ports in einem Ethernet-Netzwerk GigabitSwitch-Funktionalitt, da bis zu vier Netzwerkgerte wie Computer, Server,
Zugriffspunkte, IP-Kameras und VoIP-Telefone (Voice over IP) ber eine einzige
Ethernet-Verbindung mit dem Netzwerk verbunden werden knnen.
Alle 5 LAN-Ports bieten 10/100/1000 Mbit/s mit automatischer Aushandlung
und Auto-MDI-X. Der NJ2000 verfgt ebenfalls ber 2 Passthrough-Ports, die
fr die Verbindung 2 weiterer Gerte mit separaten Netzwerksegmenten
durch dieselbe Einheit genutzt werden knnen.

Strom erhlt der NJ2000 entweder durch den Uplink-Port unter Verwendung
der PoE-Standards 802.3at oder 802.3af (Power over Ethernet) oder am
eigentlichen Standort ber ein separat erhltliches externes Netzteil (48 V DC;
3CNJ1000PSL).
HINWEIS: PoE (Power over Ethernet) ist eine Methode, bei der Gerte ber ein
Ethernet-Kabel mit Strom versorgt werden, d. h. ein Gert kann sowohl Daten
als auch den bentigten Strom ber dasselbe Netzwerkkabel beziehen. PoEStromzufuhr ist ber Port 1 oder Port 2 des NJ2000 mglich, solange das
System ber ausreichende Energie verfgt. Weiter unten in dieser Anleitung,
im Abschnitt "PoE-Funktionen von Port 1 und Port 2" finden Sie weitere
Einzelheiten dazu.
Grundmerkmale des NJ2000

Diese Abbildung zeigt die Vorderansicht des NJ2000. Eine Beschreibung der
Funktionen finden Sie in der Tabelle.

4 Gigabit-LANSwitch-Ports
mit LEDs
Ermglicht die Verbindung von bis zu vier Gerten mit dem Netzwerk.
Ein grnes LED-Lmpchen zeigt den Verbindungsstatus an, wenn ein
Gert an einen bestimmten Port angeschlossen ist.
Port 1 und Port 2 sind auch in der Lage, den Strom weiterzuleiten. Sie
knnen mit allen Standard-Netzwerkgerten verwendet werden und
alle Gerte, die auf den IEEE PoE-Standard 802.3af angewiesen sind,
mit Strom versorgen.
Eine weitere LED-Anzeige zeigt an, wenn der Port Strom an ein an
diesen Port angeschlossenes Gert weiterleitet.
2 Passthrough-Ports Die Passthrough-Ports umgehen die Funktionalitt des Switches und

sind direkt mit den dazugehrigen Passthrough-Ports auf der
Rckseite des Gertes verkabelt. Passthrough-Ports ermglichen die
Verbindung mit einem separaten Netzwerksegment oder den
Anschluss eines analogen oder digitalen PBX-Telefons.

oder PoE erhlt.
Uplink-LED
Zeigt den Verbindungsstatus des Uplink-Ports auf der Rckseite des

Gertes an.
Eine grne LED-Anzeige zeigt eine gltige Verbindung des UplinkPorts an.
Netzteilanschluss
Hier wird das separat erhltliche Netzteil (3CNJ1000PSL) an den

NJ2000 angeschlossen. HINWEIS: Dieses Netzteil ist erforderlich,
wenn das lokale Netzwerk PoE nicht untersttzt.
Schraubloch
Durch dieses Schraubloch wird der NJ2000 an der Wandhalterung

festgeschraubt.
Reset-Taste
Halten Sie die Reset-Taste <20 Sekunden lang gedrckt, um den NJ2000
zurckzusetzen.
Halten Sie die Reset-Taste >20 Sekunden lang gedrckt, um das Kennwort
zu lschen und das Gert auf die werkseitigen Standardeinstellungen
zurckzusetzen.

Dieses Gert muss gem den rtlichen und national geltenden
Bauvorschriften, behrdlichen Beschrnkungen und den Bestimmungen der
US-Behrde FCC (Federal Communications Commission) installiert werden
(siehe Abschnitt "Zulassungsinformationen" am Ende dieser Anleitung). Zum
Schutz von Personen und Gerten sollte der NJ2000 nur von
Netzwerkspezialisten installiert werden.
WARNUNG: Zur Vermeidung von Verletzungen oder Beschdigung der
Gerte drfen fr die Stromversorgung nur Gerte verwendet werden, die
den nationalen oder internationalen Sicherheitsanforderungen von UL,
CSA, IEC oder hnlichen Organisationen des Einsatzlandes entsprechen.
Alle Bezugnahmen auf Netzteile in diesem Dokument beziehen sich auf
Gerte, die diese Anforderungen erfllen.

In diesem Beispiel wird der NJ2000 mit einem Ethernet-Netzwerkkabel
verbunden, das in einer RJ-45-Anschlussbuchse endet.

1. Stromversorgungsoptionen
Der NJ2000 kann auf eine der folgenden Methoden mit Strom versorgt
werden:
durch PoE (entweder 802.3at oder 802.3af) ber den Uplink-Port
oder
ber das separat erhltliche externe Netzteil
Wird der Uplink-Port unter Verwendung des Standards 802.3at oder ber das
externe Netzteil mit Strom versorgt, knnen Ports 1 und 2 als PoE PSE (Power
Source Equipment, Stromversorgungsgert) eingesetzt werden, die den Strom
ebenfalls an andere an diese Ports angeschlossene Gerte weiterleiten
knnen.
Wird der Strom unter Verwendung des Standards 802.3af zugefhrt, knnen
Ports 1 und 2 nicht als PSE-Stromversorger dienen.
2. PoE-Funktionen von Port 1 und Port 2

Wird der Uplink-Port (PD) unter Verwendung des Standards 802.3at mit Strom
versorgt, knnen Ports 1 und 2 als PoE PSE-Stromversorger eingesetzt werden.
Wird dem NJ2000 vom Uplink-Port (PD) Strom unter Verwendung des
Standards 802.3at oder durch das externe Netzteil zugefhrt, besitzt der
NJ2000 ein PoE PSE-"Budget" von 15,4 W, das anhand der klassenbasierten
Energieverwaltungsfunktion zwischen Port 1 und Port 2 aufgeteilt werden
kann.
Der NJ2000 kann folgende Kombinationen von Gerten mit Strom
versorgen:
1 gespeistes Gert (PD, Powered Device) der Klasse 0, 3
2 gespeiste Gerte der Klasse 2
2 gespeiste Gerte der Klasse 1
1 gespeistes Gert der Klasse 1 und ein gespeistes Gert der Klasse 2
ACHTUNG: Sie drfen nur ein Netzteil verwenden, das von 3COM fr die
Verwendung mit diesem NJ2000 bereitgestellt wird oder dafr zugelassen ist.
Eine Missachtung dieser Anforderung kann zur Beschdigung des NJ2000,
gefhrlichen Situationen oder Krperverletzung fhren.

3. Installation planen
Installiert reicht die Rckseite des NJ2000 etwa 1,25 cm in die Wand. Da die
Tiefe einiger Wandffnungen unterschiedlich ist, beachten Sie die folgenden
Anforderungen und Empfehlungen, bevor Sie den NJ2000 installieren:
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Wandffnung, in die der NJ2000 installiert
werden soll, dem Standard NEMA-WD6 wie in dieser Abbildung

beschrieben entspricht:
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Abstand zwischen der Rckseite des
NJ2000 und der Innenseite der Wandffnung mindestens 3,8 cm/1,5 Zoll
betrgt (empfohlen sind 7,6 cm/3 Zoll).
HINWEIS: Wenn Sie den NJ2000 in einen Wandverteilerkasten installieren,
stellen Sie sicher, dass zwischen der Rckseite des NJ2000 und der Innenseite
des Verteilerkastens ausreichend Platz fr eine nicht zu enge Biegung des
Kabels verbleibt.
Damit die horizontale Verkabelung ordnungsgem funktioniert, sollten
bei der Installation die folgenden Netzwerkverkabelungsstandards befolgt

4. Wandhalterung anbringen
Befestigen Sie die optionale Halterung zur Wandbefestigung des Gertes wie
unten abgebildet in der Wandffnung.
5. Netzwerkkabel verlegen
Das Netzwerkkabel (vom Verteilerkasten zur Wandffnung) ist mglicherweise
bereits installiert. Sollte dies nicht der Fall sein, verlegen Sie das Kabel diesen
allgemeinen Richtlinien entsprechend.
ACHTUNG: 3Com empfiehlt, dass Sie dies von einem qualifizierten
Kabelverleger durchfhren lassen. Beachten Sie bei der Kabelverlegung in
jedem Fall die rtlichen Sicherheitsbestimmungen und behrdlichen Auflagen.
1 Verbinden Sie das eine Ende eines Ethernet-Kabels mit dem Netzwerk.
Dies geschieht normalerweise an der Schalttafel eines

Netzwerkverteilerkastens.
2 Befestigen Sie am anderen Kabelende am Installationsstandort des
NJ2000 einen RJ-45-Stecker oder eine RJ-45-Buchse. Befolgen Sie dabei

die Anweisungen des Anschlussherstellers. Vergewissern Sie sich durch
einen Test des Anschlusses davon, dass er ordnungsgem funktioniert.

6. Den NJ2000 an das Netzwerk anschlieen

Die Verbindungsmethode des NJ2000 mit dem Netzwerk hngt davon ab, ob
das Netzwerkkabel in einer Buchse oder einem Stecker endet (siehe Schritt 5).
Empfohlen: Endet das Kabel in einer RJ-45-Buchse, verwenden Sie zur
Verbindung des NJ2000 mit dem Netzwerkkabel eines der im

Lieferumfang enthaltenen RJ-45-Stecker-Stecker-Kabel.
Endet das Kabel in einem Stecker, schlieen Sie das Netzwerkkabel direkt
an den Ethernet-Uplink-Port an.
7. Den NJ2000 an der Wand befestigen

Fhren Sie nach erfolgter Verbindung des NJ2000 mit dem Netzwerk die
folgenden Schritte wie abgebildet aus.
1 Befestigen Sie den NJ2000 mit der im Lieferumfang enthaltenen T-10
Torx-Schraube an der Wandhalterung.

ACHTUNG: Achten Sie dabei darauf, dass der Luftstrom durch die
Lftungsffnungen entlang der Blendenrnder des NJ2000 durch nichts
beeintrchtigt wird.
2 Schieben Sie den NJ2000 auf die Wandhalterung. Achten Sie darauf, dass
sich die 4 Haken auf der Halterung in den 4 Schlitzen auf der Rckseite
des NJ2000 befinden.

3 Schieben Sie den NJ2000 nach unten, damit die Haken fest in den
Schlitzen sitzen. Richten Sie dabei die Schraublcher in der Halterung und
dem NJ2000 miteinander aus.

8. Netzteil anschlieen (optional)

Falls das Netzwerk PoE nicht untersttzt, knnen Sie das separat erhltliche
Netzteil verwenden. So schlieen Sie das Netzteil an den NJ2000 an:
1 Schlieen Sie den runden Anschluss des Netzteils an den NJ2000 an (siehe
Abbildung unten).
2 Stecken Sie das Netzkabel des Netzteils in eine Steckdose (Wechselstrom).
WARNUNG: Verwenden Sie ausschlielich die von 3Com erhltlichen

Netzteile. Eine Missachtung dieser Anforderung kann zur Beschdigung des
NJ2000 oder gefhrlichen Situationen fhren.
9. Gerte an den NJ2000 anschlieen

Jetzt knnen Sie Netzwerkgerte wie Computer, Server, Zugriffspunkte, IPKameras und VoIP-Telefone (Voice over IP) an einen der vier LAN-Ports auf der
Vorderseite des NJ2000 anschlieen. Denken Sie dabei daran, dass, wenn der
NJ2000 seinen Strom unter Verwendung des Standards 802.3at oder durch

IP-Adresse in Netzwerken mit DHCP-Server finden

Wenn Ihr Netzwerk ber einen DHCP-Server verfgt, wird dem NJ2000
automatisch eine IP-Adresse zugewiesen. Der NJ2000 bentigt zwischen einer
und zwei Minuten, um einen DHCP-Server im Netzwerk zu finden.
Stellen Sie die dem NJ2000 vom DHCP-Server zugewiesene IP-Adresse mit
einer der folgenden Optionen fest:
Greifen Sie auf den DHCP-Server zu, um die vom Server zugewiesene IP-
Adresse festzustellen.
Verwenden Sie dazu das separat erhltliche kostenlose Dienstprogramm
3Detect (siehe Schritt 12 im Abschnitt "3Detect Software herunterladen

und installieren" weiter unten in dieser Anleitung).
IP-Adresse in Netzwerken ohne DHCP-Server finden
Wenn Ihr Netzwerk keinen DHCP-Server besitzt, benutzt der NJ2000 eine vom
Werk zugewiesene Standard-IP-Adresse: 169.254.1.251.
11. Den NJ2000 konfigurieren

So konfigurieren Sie den NJ2000:

Mit der 3Com 3Detect Software knnen Sie die NJ2000 in einem
Subnetzwerk erkennen und ihre IP-Adressen feststellen. Fhren Sie folgende
Schritte aus:
1 Verbinden Sie Ihren Computer entweder direkt oder ber das Netzwerk mit dem NJ2000.

Panoramica del NJ2000 e delle sue funzioni

Sul lato anteriore del NJ2000 ci sono quattro porte gigabit LAN per lo
switching locale. La porta gigabit LAN up-link sul lato posteriore lo collega al
resto della rete.
Il NJ2000 pu fare lo switching a velocit gigabit su una qualunque singola
porta Ethernet permettendo il collegamento di fino a quattro dispositivi di rete
come computer, server, punti di accesso, fotocamera IP e telefoni VoIP (Voice
Over IP) alla rete attraverso una singola connessione Ethernet.
Tutte le 5 porte LAN offrono 10/100/1000 Mbps con auto-negoziazione e
auto-MDI-X. Il NJ2000 fornisce anche 2 porte pass-through che possono
essere utilizzate per collegare due ulteriori dispositivi a segmenti separati della
rete attraverso la stessa unit.

Il NJ2000 alimentato o attraverso la porta up-link via PoE (Power over

Ethernet) in accordo con lo standard 802.3at o 802.3af o localmente con un
alimentatore opzionale esterno a 48V CC, il 3CNJ1000PSL.
NOTA: Il PoE o Power Over Ethernet, una tecnica che permette di alimentare

1. Comprendere le opzioni di alimentazione

Il NJ2000 pu essere alimentato in uno dei modi seguenti:
Attraverso PoE (o con lo standard 802.3at o 802.3af) applicata alla porta
di up-link
oppure
Attraverso l'alimentatore locale esterno opzionale
Se l'alimentazione viene fornita alla porta di up-link in accordo con lo standard

802.3at o da un alimentatore esterno, allora le porte 1 e 2 possono agire
come Power Source Equipment (PSE) di PoE e possono anche fornire
alimentazione ad altri dipsositivi collegati alle suddette porte.
Se l'alimentazione viene fornita in accordo con lo standard 802.3af, allora le
porte 1 e 2 non possono fornire alimentazione come PSE.
2. Comprendere le capacit PoE per la porta 1 e la porta 2

Se l'alimentazione viene fornita in accordo con lo standard 802.3at attraverso
la porta di up-link (PD) o da un alimentatore esterno, allora le porte 1 e 2
possono a turno agire come Power Source Equipment (PSE) di PoE e possono
fornire alimentazione.
Se l'alimentazione viene fornita al NJ20000 dalla porta di up-link (PD) in
accordo con lo standard 802.3at o da un alimentatore esterno, allora il
NJ2000 avr un bilancio totale PSE di PoE di 15,4W, che pu essere diviso tra
le porte 1 e 2 sulla base della funzione basata sulla classe di gestione
dell'alimentazione.
Il NJ2000 pu alimentare le seguenti combinazioni di dispositivi:
Un dispositivo PD di classe 0,3 oppure
Due dispositivi PD di classe 2 oppure
Due dispositivi PD di classe 1 oppure
Un dispositivo PD di classe 1 e un dispositivo PD di classe 2
ATTENZIONE: necessario utilizzare solo un alimentatore fornito o approvato

dalla 3Com per l'uso con il NJ2000. Se non si rispetta questo requisito, si
potrebbero verificare danni al NJ2000 o creare una situazione pericolosa o
causare danni personali.

3. Pianificare l'installazione
Una volta installato, il retro del NJ2000 rientra dentro il muro per 1,25 cm.
Poich la profondit delle aperture di alcuni muri varia, seguire i seguenti
requisiti e suggerimenti prima di installare il NJ2000:
Accertarsi che l'apertura del muro dove si vuole installare il NJ2000
conforme allo standard NEMA-WD6, come descritto nel seguente

diagramma:
Accertarsi che la distanza tra il retro del NJ2000 e l'interno del muro sia
almeno di 3,75 cm (si consiglia 7,5 cm).

NOTA: Se si sta installando il NJ2000 in una scatola di connessione a muro,
accertarsi che ci sia abbastanza spazio tra il retro del NJ2000 e l'interno della
scatola di connessione per mantenere un angolo di piegamento del cavo
accettabile.
Per assicurare una funzionalit corretta di cablaggio orizzontale, rispettare
i seguenti standard di cablaggio della rete durante l'installazione:

4. Fissare il supporto per il montaggio a parete

Fissare il supporto opzionale per il montaggio a parete all'apertura del muro
come mostrato nel diagramma.
5. Predisporre i cavi della rete

I cavi della rete (dall'armadio di cablaggio all'apertura del muro) potrebbero
essere gi installati. Se no, installare il cablaggio rispettando le seguenti linee
guida generali.
ATTENZIONE: La 3Com consiglia che sia un installatore professionale di cavi
ad eseguire le seguenti procedure. Accertarsi che l'installazione dei cavi rispetti
i codici locali di sicurezza e di regolamento.
1 Collegare un'estremit del cavo Ethernet alla rete. Di solito, la connessione
viene realizzata nell'armadio di cablaggio di una rete, attraverso il

pannello patch.
2 Terminare l'altra estremit del cavo nella sede dove si sta installando il
NJ2000 (utilizzando un connettore RJ-45 maschio o femmina). Fare

riferimento alle istruzioni del produttore del connettore per come
terminare il cavo. Accertarsi di controllare che il connettore funzioni.

6. Collegare il NJ2000 alla rete.

Il metodo di collegamento del NJ2000 alla rete viene determinato dal tipo di
terminazione del cavo di rete, come descritto nel passaggio 5.
Si consiglia: Se l'estremit del cavo terminata con un connettore RJ-45
femmina, utilizzare uno degli accopppiatori dei cavi RJ-45 compresi nella
confezione del NJ2000 per collegare il NJ2000 al cavo di rete.
Se l'estremit del cavo terminata con un connettore maschio, collegare il
cavo di rete direttamente alla porta Ethernet di up-link.
7. Montare il NJ2000 sulla parete

Dopo avere collegato il NJ2000 alla rete, eseguire le seguenti operazioni, come
mostrato nella prossima figura:
1 Montare il NJ2000 al supporto di montaggio a parete e fissarlo utilizzando
la vite torx T-10 compresa nella confezione del NJ2000.

ATTENZIONE: Accertarsi che i fori di ventilazione lungo i lati del pannello
anteriore del NJ2000 siano liberi da ogni ostruzione per permettere la libera
circolazione dell'aria.
2 Fare scorrere il NJ2000 nel supporto di montaggio a parete, facendo in
modo che i 4 ganci sul supporto combacino con le 4 fessure sul retro del
NJ2000.

3 Tirare il NJ2000 verso il basso per bloccare saldamente i ganci alle fessure.
Fare in modo che i fori delle vite nel supporto e nel NJ2000 corrispondano.
8. Collegare all'alimentazione (opzionale)

Se la rete non fornisce PoE, possibile utilizzare l'alimentatore locale
opzionale. Per collegare l'alimentatore locale al NJ2000, eseguire le seguenti
operazioni:
1 Collegare il connettore rotondo dell'alimentatore locale al NJ2000 (come
mostrato nel diagramma successivo).

2 Collegare l'alimentatore ad una presa CA.
AVVERTENZA: Utilizzare solo l'alimentatore locale ottenibile da 3Com. Se

non si rispetta questo requisito, si potrebbero verificare danni al NJ2000 e
creare situazioni pericolose.

9. Collegare i dispositivi al NJ2000

ora possibile collegare dispositivi di rete come computer, server, punti di
accesso, fotocamere IP e telefoni VoIP (Voice Over IP) a qualunque delle
quattro porte LAN sul lato frontale del NJ2000. Notare che se l'alimentazione
viene fornita al NJ2000 in accordo con il protocollo 802.3at o da un
alimentatore locale esterno, allora la potenza PSE di PoE sar disponibile sulle
porte 1 e 2.
10. Accedere all'interfaccia Web del NJ2000

Per accedere all'interfaccia Web sul NJ2000, occorre prima di tutto
determinare l'indirizzo IP del dispositivo. Selezionare il metodo che meglio
corrisponde alla rete in uso.
Individuare l'indirizzo IP su reti che hanno un server DHCP
Se sulla rete presente un server DHCP, al NJ2000 viene automaticamente
assegnato un indirizzo IP. Il NJ2000 richiede da 1 a 2 minuti per rilevare un
server DHCP sulla rete.
Utilizzare una delle seguenti opzioni per determinare l'indirizzo IP che il server
DHCP assegna al NJ2000:
Accedere il server DHCP per determinare l'indirizzo IP che ha assegnato.
Utilizzare la utility opzionale e gratuita 3Detect. Vedere il passaggio 12,
Scaricare e installare il Software 3Detect, presente di seguito nella

guida.

Individuare l'indirizzo IP su reti senza server DHCP

Se sulla rete non presente un server DHCP, il NJ2000 utilizza un indirizzo IP
predefinito assegnato dal produttore: 169.254.1.251.
11. Configurare il NJ2000

Per configurare il NJ2000, eseguire le seguenti operazioni:
1 Avviare il browser Web sul computer. Nella barra degli indirizzi, immettere
l'indirizzo IP del NJ2000 e premereInvio.

2 Nella schermata Login, digitare la password e clic su Log On. La password
predefinita: password
3 Utilizzare il menu sul lato sinistro della schermata per rivedere e cambiare
qualunque impostazione.
12. Scaricare e installare il Software 3Detect opzionale

Per facilitare il rilevamento del NJ2000 sulla rete:
1 Accendere il computer, avviare il browser Web e andare a
www.3com.com
2 Selezionare Support > Downloads & Drivers. Per localizzare e scaricare
il software 3Detect, inserire 3CNJ2000 e selezionare Utility Software.

3 Scaricare ed espandere il software, quindi eseguire setup.exe
4 Seguire le istruzioni visualizzate sullo schermo per completare
l'installazione.
Utilizzare il Software 3Detect
Con il software 3Detect di 3Com possibile scoprire gli NJ2000 presenti su
una sottorete e determinare i loro indirizzi IP. Procedere come segue:
1 Collegare il computer al NJ2000 direttamente o tramite rete.
2 Avviare 3Detect dal menu Start di Windows:
Avvia > Programmi : 3Com 3Detect > 3Detect
Quando la utility 3Detect scopre il NJ2000, lo visualizza sulla schermata principale.
3 Selezionare il NJ2000 dall'elenco e quindi fare clic su Properties. Annotare l'indirizzo IP.

Viso geral do NJ2000 e seus recursos

A frente do NJ2000 apresenta quatro portas de LAN gigabit para comutao
local. A porta de uplink de LAN gigabit na parte traseira conecta-se ao restante
da rede.
O NJ2000 proporciona capacidades de comutao em gigabit a todas as
portas de uma rede Ethernet ao permitir a conexo de at quatro dispositivos
de rede como computadores, servidores, pontos de acesso, cmeras IP e
telefones VoIP com a rede por meio de uma nica conexo Ethernet.
As 5 portas LAN oferecem 10/100/1000 Mbps com negociao automtica e
MDI-X automtico. O NJ2000 tambm fornece 2 portas de passagem, que
podem ser usadas para conectar 2 dispositivos adicionais para separar
segmentos de rede atravs da mesma unidade.

NOTA: PoE, ou Power Over Ethernet, um mtodo de fornecimento de

1. Entender as opes de alimentao

A alimentao do NJ2000 pode ser feita de uma destas maneiras:
Por meio de PoE (802.3at ou 802.3af) aplicada porta de uplink
ou
Por meio de fonte de alimentao local opcional
Se a alimentao fornecida para a porta de uplink por 802.3at ou pela fonte

de alimentao externa, as portas 1 e 2 podem atuar como PoE PSE (Power
Source Equipment) e tambm podem fornecer alimentao a outros
dispositivos conectados a essas portas.
Se a alimentao for fornecida por 802.3af, as portas 1 e 2 no podero
fornecer alimentao PSE.
2. Entender as capacidades PoE da Porta 1 e Porta 2

Se a alimentao for fornecida por 802.3at pela porta de uplink (PD) ou se a
alimentao for fornecida pela fonte de alimentao externa, as portas 1 e 2
podero atuar alternadamente como PoE PSE e fornecer alimentao.
Se a alimentao fornecida para o NJ2000 pela porta de uplink (PD) com
PoE 802.3at ou com a fonte de alimentao externa, o NJ2000 ter uma a
previso de PoE PSE total de 15,4 W, os quais podem ser divididos entre as
portas 1 e 2 de acordo com o recurso de gerenciamento de alimentao
baseado em classe.
O NJ2000 pode alimentar estas combinaes de dispositivos:

CUIDADO: Usar apenas uma fonte de alimentao fornecida ou aprovada

pela 3Com para utilizao com este NJ2000. O no cumprimento deste
requisito pode resultar em danos ao NJ2000, situao perigosa ou ferimentos
pessoais.

3. Planejar a instalao
Quando instalado o NJ2000, a sua parte traseira ficar 1,27 cm dentro da
parede. Como a profundidade de algumas aberturas da parede pode diferir,
observe os seguintes requisitos e recomendaes antes de instalar o NJ2000:
Verifique se a abertura da parede em que o NJ2000 est sendo instalado
segue o padro NEMA-WD6, conforme descrito neste diagrama:
Verifique se a distncia entre a parte traseira do NJ2000 e o interior da
parede de, pelo menos, 3,81 cm (recomenda-se 7,62 cm).

NOTA: Se estiver instalando o NJ2000 em uma caixa de distribuio de
parede, verifique se h espao suficiente entre a parte traseira do NJ2000 e o
interior da caixa de distribuio, para manter um raio de curvatura aceitvel do
cabo.

4. Encaixar o suporte para montagem na parede

Encaixe o suporte opcional de montagem na parede na abertura da parede
conforme mostrado no diagrama.
5. Preparar o cabeamento de rede

O cabeamento de rede (do gabinete de fiao at a abertura na parede) j
pode ter sido instalado. Caso contrrio, instale-o de acordo com as orientao
gerais a seguir.
CUIDADO: A 3Com recomenda que um instalador de cabos profissional
execute estes procedimentos. Siga os cdigos regulamentares e de segurana
locais durante a instalao do cabeamento.
1 Conecte uma extremidade de um cabo Ethernet rede. Normalmente,
essa conexo feita em um gabinete de fiao de rede, por meio do

painel de ligaes.
2 Termine a outra extremidade do cabo no local em que o NJ2000 est
sendo instalado (usando um conector RJ-45 fmea ou macho). Consulte

as instrues do fabricante do conector para terminar o cabo. Teste o
conector e verifique se ele est funcionando.

6. Conectar o NJ2000 rede

O mtodo de conexo do NJ2000 rede determinado pela terminao do
cabo de rede, conforme descrito na etapa 5.
Recomendado: Se a extremidade do cabo est terminada com um
conector RJ-45 fmea, use um dos cabos de acoplador RJ-45 includos na

embalagem do NJ2000 para conectar o NJ2000 ao cabo de rede.
Se a extremidade do cabo estiver terminada com um conector macho,
conecte o cabo de rede diretamente porta de uplink Ethernet.
7. Montar o NJ2000 na parede

Aps conectar o NJ2000 rede, siga estas etapas, conforme mostrado na
prxima figura:
1 Monte o NJ2000 no suporte de montagem na parede e fixe-o com o
parafuso torx T-10 fornecido na embalagem do NJ2000.

CUIDADO: Verifique se as sadas de ventilao ao longo das bordas do
NJ2000 esto desobstrudas para permitir o fluxo de ar.
2 Deslize o NJ2000 no suporte de montagem na parede e garanta que os 4
ganchos no suporte encaixem nas 4 fendas da parte traseira do NJ2000.

3 Puxe o NJ2000 para baixo, para travar os ganchos com firmeza nas
fendas. Garanta que os orifcios com rosca do suporte correspondam aos

orifcios do NJ2000.

8. Conectar a fonte de alimentao local (Opcional)

Se a rede no for compatvel com PoE, voc poder usar a fonte de
alimentao local opcional. Para conect-la ao NJ2000, siga estas etapas:
1 Ligue o conector redondo da fonte de alimentao local no NJ2000 (como
mostrado no prximo diagrama).

2 Plugue o cabo de alimentao da fonte de alimentao local em uma
tomada de CA.
ADVERTNCIA: Usar apenas a fonte de alimentao local disponvel na
3Com. O no cumprimento deste requisito pode resultar em danos ao NJ2000
ou em uma situao perigosa.

9. Conectar dispositivos ao NJ2000

Agora possvel conectar dispositivos de rede como computadores,
servidores, pontos de acesso, cmeras IP e telefones VoIP s 4 portas LAN na
frente do NJ2000. Lembre-se: se a alimentao for fornecida para o NJ2000
por 802.3at ou via fonte de alimentao externa local, a alimentao PoE PSE
ficar disponvel nas portas 1 e 2.
10. Acessar a interface da Web do NJ2000

Para acessar a interface da Web no NJ2000, primeiro necessrio determinar
o endereo IP correspondente. Selecione o mtodo que melhor se adapte
rede.
Localizar o endereo IP em redes com um servidor DHCP
Se a sua rede tiver um servidor DHCP, um endereo IP ser automaticamente
atribudo ao NJ2000. O NJ2000 leva de 1 a 2 minutos para detectar um
servidor DHCP na rede.
Use uma destas opes para determinar o endereo IP atribudo ao NJ2000
pelo servidor DHCP:
Acesse o servidor DHCP para determinar o endereo IP que ele atribuiu.
Use o utilitrio opcional 3Detect gratuito. Consulte a etapa 12, "Fazer
download e instalar o software 3Detect", mais adiante neste captulo.

Localizar o endereo IP em redes sem um servidor DHCP
Se a sua rede no tiver um servidor DHCP, o NJ2000 usar um endereo IP
padro atribudo em fbrica: 169.254.1.251.
11. Configurar o NJ2000

Para configurar o NJ2000, siga estas etapas:
1 Inicie o navegador da Web do computador. Na barra de endereo, digite o
endereo IP do NJ2000 e pressione Enter.

2 Na tela de Login, digite a senha e clique em Logon. A senha padro:

configuraes.

12. Fazer download e instalar o software 3Detect opcional

Para simplificar a descoberta do NJ2000 na rede:
1 Ligue o computador, inicie o navegador e aponte para
www.3com.com
2 Selecione Support > Downloads & Drivers. Para localizar e fazer
download do software 3Detect, digite 3CNJ2000 e selecione Utility

Software.
3 Faa download e expanda o software e, em seguida, execute setup.exe
4 Siga as instrues na tela para concluir a instalao.
Utilizao do software 3Detect

Com o software 3Com 3Detect, possvel descobrir os NJ2000s em uma
sub-rede e determinar os respectivos endereos IP. Siga estas etapas:
1 Conecte o computador ao NJ2000 diretamente ou pela rede.
2 Inicie o 3Detect no menu Iniciar do Windows:

3Com IntelliJack Gigabit Switch NJ2000 (3CNJ2000) es un conmutador

El NJ2000 recibe alimentacin a travs del puerto de enlace ascendente a

travs de PoE (Alimentacin sobre Ethernet) 802.3at o 802.3af, o bien, a
travs de un suministro de alimentacin externo opcional de 48V CC,
3CNJ1000PSL.
NOTA: PoE, o Alimentacin sobre Ethernet, es un mtodo para brindar
alimentacin a equipos a travs de un cable Ethernet, lo que permite que el
dispositivo reciba tanto datos como alimentacin a travs del mismo cable de

1. Conozca las opciones de alimentacin

La alimentacin al NJ2000 se puede suministrar de una de estas maneras:
A travs de PoE (802.3at o 802.3af) aplicada al puerto de enlace
ascendente
o bien,
A travs del suministro elctrico externo local opcional
Si la alimentacin se suministra al puerto de enlace ascendente mediante

802.3at o mediante el suministro elctrico externo, los puertos 1 y 2 pueden
actuar como PSE (Equipo de suministro de alimentacin) PoE y tambin
pueden proporcionar alimentacin a otros dispositivos conectados a esos
puertos.
Si la alimentacin se suministra mediante 802.3af, los puertos 1 y 2 no podrn
brindar alimentacin PSE.
2. Conozca las capacidades de PoE para el Puerto 1 y el

Puerto 2
Si la alimentacin se suministra mediante 802.3at a travs del puerto de
enlace ascendente (PD) o a travs del suministro elctrico externo, los puertos
1 y 2 pueden actuar como PSE PoE y pueden suministrar alimentacin.
Si la alimentacin se proporciona al NJ2000 mediante el puerto de enlace
ascendente (PD) con PoE 802.3at o con el suministro elctrico externo, el
NJ2000 tendr una disponibilidad total de PSE PoE de 15.4W, la cual se puede
dividir entre el puerto 1 y el puerto 2 segn la caracterstica de administracin

El NJ2000 puede brindar alimentacin a las siguientes combinaciones de

3. Planifique la instalacin
Cuando se instala, la parte posterior del NJ2000 se extiende hacia la pared por
0,5 pulgadas. Dado que la profundidad de algunas aperturas en la pared
difiere, tenga en cuenta los siguientes requisitos y recomendaciones antes de
instalar el NJ2000:
Asegrese de que la apertura en la pared donde instalar el NJ2000
cumpla con el estndar NEMA-WD6, como se describe en este diagrama:
Asegrese de que la distancia entre la parte posterior del NJ2000 y el

4. Instale el soporte de montaje en la pared

Instale el soporte opcional de montaje en la pared en la apertura de la pared,

5. Organice el cableado de la red

Es posible que el cableado de red (desde el armario de conexin a la apertura
en la pared) ya est instalado. Si no es as, instale el cableado siguiendo estas
pautas generales.
PRECAUCIN: 3Com recomienda que un instalador de cables profesional
realice estos procedimientos. Asegrese de respetar los cdigos de seguridad
local y reglamentarios durante la instalacin de los cables.
1 Conecte el extremo de un cable Ethernet a la red. Generalmente, esta
conexin se realiza en un armario de conexiones de red, mediante el panel

de conexiones de cable.
2 Termine el otro extremo del cable en la ubicacin donde instalar en
NJ2000 (usando un conector RJ-45 hembra o macho). Consulte las

instrucciones del fabricante del conector para terminar el cable. Asegrese
de probar el conector y verificar que funciona.

6. Conecte el NJ2000 a la red

El mtodo para conectar el NJ2000 a la red se determina segn la manera en
que termina el cable, como se describe en el paso 5.
Recomendacin: Si el cable termina con un conector RJ-45 hembra, use
uno de los cables coupler RJ-45 incluidos en el paquete del NJ2000 para
conectar el NJ2000 al cable de red.
Si el extremo del cable termina con un conector macho, conecte el cable
de red directamente al puerto de enlace ascendente de Ethernet.
7. Monte el NJ2000 en la pared

Luego de conectar el NJ2000 a la red, siga estos pasos, como se indica en la
siguiente figura:
1 Monte el NJ2000 en el soporte de montaje de pared y asegrelo usando el
tornillo torx T-10 incluido en el paquete el NJ2000.

PRECAUCIN: Asegrese de que no haya obstrucciones que impidan el flujo
de aire hacia los agujeros de ventilacin a lo largo de los bordes de la cubierta
del NJ2000.
2 Deslice el NJ2000 en el soporte de montaje en la pared, asegurndose de
que los 4 ganchos del soporte se ajusten en las 4 ranuras de la parte

posterior del NJ2000.

3 Empuje el NJ2000 hacia abajo para asegurar los ganchos de manera firme
en las ranuras. Asegrese de hacer coincidir los agujeros de los tornillos

del soporte y del NJ2000.
8. Conecte el suministro elctrico local (opcional)

Si la red no admite PoE, puede usar el suministro elctrico local opcional. Para
conectar el suministro elctrico local al NJ2000, siga estos pasos:
1 Enchufe el conector redondo del suministro elctrico local al NJ2000
(como se muestra en el siguiente diagrama).

2 Enchufe el cable de alimentacin del suministro elctrico local a una toma
de corriente de CA.
ADVERTENCIA: Use slo el suministro elctrico local disponible a travs de
3Com. De lo contrario, puede ocasionar daos en el NJ2000 o puede provocar
una situacin peligrosa.

9. Conecte dispositivos al NJ2000

Ahora puede conectar los dispositivos de red, como computadoras, servidores,
puntos de acceso, cmaras IP y telfonos de voz IP (VoIP) a cualquiera de los
cuatro puertos LAN ubicados en la parte delantera del NJ2000. Recuerde, si se
suministra alimentacin al NJ2000 mediante 802.3at o mediante el suministro
elctrico externo local, los puertos 1 y 2 tendrn alimentacin PSE PoE
disponible.
10. Acceda a la interfaz Web del NJ2000

Para acceder a la interfaz Web en el NJ2000, primero debe determinar su
direccin IP. Seleccione el mtodo que mejor se adapta a su red.
Busque la direccin IP en redes que tienen un servidor DHCP
Si su red tiene un servidor DHCP, se asigna automticamente una direccin IP
al NJ2000. El NJ2000 tarda entre uno y dos minutos en detectar un servidor
DHCP en la red.
Use una de estas opciones para determinar la direccin IP que el servidor
DHCP le asigna al NJ2000:
Acceda a su servidor DHCP para determinar la direccin IP que tiene
asignada.
Use la utilidad opcional 3Detect gratuita. Consulte el paso 12, "Descarga
e instalacin del software 3Detect", ms adelante en esta gua.

Busque la direccin IP en redes sin un servidor DHCP
Si su red no tiene un servidor DHCP, el NJ2000 usa su direccin IP
predeterminada asignada en fbrica: 169.254.1.251.

11. Configure el NJ2000

Para configurar el NJ2000, siga estos pasos:
1 Inicie el explorador Web de su computadora. En la barra de direccin,
ingrese la direccin IP de su NJ2000 y presione Intro.

2 En la pantalla Login (Inicio de sesin), escriba la contrasea y haga clic en
Log On (Iniciar sesin). Contrasea predeterminada: password

3 Use el men de la izquierda de la pantalla para revisar y cambiar cualquier
ajuste.
12. Descargue e instale el software 3Detect opcional

Para simplificar la deteccin del NJ2000 en la red:
1 Encienda la computadora, inicie su explorador Web y vaya a
www.3com.com
