QANTAS - The Affects

Just one day after Qantas announced a 15 per cent cutback in staff that
will mean 5000 people lose their jobs, two Qantas aircraft collided on
the ground at LAX.
At the time of the collision, transiting Mercury was stationing
direct and a host of other planets are stationing, both direct and
retrograde.
Transiting Saturn is currently on Qantas Sun and Mercury, which is in
line with the downturn in Qantas fortunes. Saturn is well known as an
archetype associated with limitation and restriction, and also with
restructuring.
At the time of the collision at LAX transiting Mercury was within orb of
a square to this placement, and the transiting balsamic Moon was
exactly square Qantas Sun and Mercury and therefore also square T
Saturn.

Jupiter and Uranus are well known for their association with aviation.
Both planets are chief sky gods. Past research into a spate of major
airline disasters that took place in 1985 has shown that these two
planets were then in mutual reception (Uranus in Sagittarius and
Jupiter in Aquarius) and also in sextile aspect.
At the time of this recent land based collision at LAX , Uranus and
Jupiter were within .09 of an exact square. Transiting Jupiter was
moving over Qantas Pluto and Ceres. Transiting Uranus was moving
over the Chiron-Athena midpoint, which is also suggestive of upheaval
for the airline.
In Qantas 1920 chart (noon chart used), we see that Mercury in
Scorpio is retrograde and within a whisker of inferior conjunction.
Making a comfortable sextile to the Moon, Mars and Vesta in
Capricorn, this has been a stabilising and protective force for the
airline that still has the best safety record of any carrier, despite recent
corporate turbulence.
The current restructuring transit of Saturn will continue until at least
October 2014 when there will be one more hit of transiting Saturn
over Sun-Mercury. Fundamental restructuring is needed, but so far
efforts to do this have only seen Qantas fortunes continue to slide.

Alan Joyce was born on 30 June 1966 in Dublin Ireland. (6am chart
used)
There are several notable links between his chart and the 1920 Qantas
chart. Joyces natal Neptune sits close to the Qantas Sun-Mercury
conjunction, and his South Node sits right on the this degree.
This means that transiting Saturn has been pummelling Joyces
Neptune and his South Node, a heavy and disheartening transit,
consistent with an undermining influence.
He clearly identifies strongly with the airline and is a key player in
its restructure. Saturns transit to his South Node and the Qantas SunMercury conjunction are highly symbolic of the current difficulties
and suggest that more trials are yet to come.
Alan Joyces Pluto-Uranus conjunction is exact to the minute at 16VI06
so we see that the current Pluto-Uranus square (2012-15) is also a
factor here.
These two planets in Joyces chart align with Jupiter in the Qantas
chart, and transiting Chiron has been opposing these planets in recent
times.
This along with Joyces Sun-Jupiter conjunction that aligns with PlutoCeres in the Qantas chart, shows that he is consciously focused on
growing and reforming the fortunes of the airline, but with his South
Node undergoing a Saturn transit (along with Qantas Sun-Mercury)
there seems to be more difficulties in store.
