Pursuant to Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 27, the American Civil


Liberties Union Foundation of Louisiana (ACLU of Louisiana), amicus counsel
in Jonathan P. Robicheaux, et al. v. James D. Caldwell, et al., No. 14-31037, in
support of Plaintiffs-Appellants respectfully requests that this Court permit amicus
counsel to adopt the Brief of Amicus Curiae Leadership Conference on Civil and
Human Rights, Public Interest Organizations, and Bar Associations in Support of
Plaintiffs-Appellees in Cleopatra DeLeon, et al. v. Rick Perry, et al. (No. 1450196).
Pursuant to this Courts Order on September 25, 2014 (Doc. No.
00512782654), Robicheaux v. Caldwell was assigned to the same merits panel as
Cleopatra DeLeon, et al. v. Rick Perry, et al., No. 14-50196. On October 7, 2014,
the Robicheaux Appellants filed a Joint Consent by All Parties to the Filing of
Briefs Amicus Curiae (Doc. No. 00512796204).
On September 15, 2014, Joshua A. Block of the American Civil Liberties
Union Foundation and Rebecca L. Robertson of the American Civil Liberties
Union of Texas filed the Brief of Amici Curiae Leadership Conference on Civil
and Human Rights, Public Interest Organizations, and Bar Associations in Support
of Plaintiffs-Appellees in DeLeon v. Perry (Doc. No. 00512769327).

In the spirit of Fed. R. App. P. 28(i) permitting the joining of anothers brief
and 5th Cir. R. 29.2 requiring avoidance of repetition of legal arguments, the
ACLU of Louisiana respectfully requests that it be permitted to adopt the Brief
Amici Curiae of Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Public
Interest Organizations, and Bar Associations in Support of Plaintiffs-Appellees in
DeLeon v. Perry and that this Court treat the amici curiae brief as also filed in
support of Plaintiffs-Appellants in Robicheaux v. Caldwell.
The ACLU of Louisiana has obtained consent from amicus curiae counsel
Joshua A. Block and Rebecca L. Robertson to adopt the Brief Amicus Curiae of
Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Public Interest Organizations,
and Bar Associations in Support of Plaintiffs-Appellees in DeLeon v. Perry.
