JUSTICE

Allah doth command you to render back your Trusts to those to whom they are due;
and when ye judge between man and man, that ye judge with justice: verily how
excellent is the teaching which He giveth you! for Allah is He Who heareth and seeth
all things.
[Al-Nissa-58]

TO DO JUSTICE IS ALLAH’S EXPRESS ORDER AND IS TERMED AS AN

EXCELLENT TEACHING.

O ye who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not
the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just:
that is next to Piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.
[Al-Maida-8]

BELIEVERS ARE DESIRED TO DO JUSTICE IN ALL EVENTUALITIES EVEN IF

IT GOES AGAINST THEIR LIKING.

The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: none can change His
Words for He is the One Who heareth and knoweth all.
[Al-A’nam-115]

JUSTICE HAS TO PREVAIL SO THAT ALLAH’S DESIGN IS COMPLETED.

Of those We have created are people who direct (others) with truth, and dispense
justice therewith. Those who reject Our Signs, We shall gradually visit with
punishment, in ways they perceive not;
[Al-A’raf-181-182]

UNJUST WILL BE PUNISHED BY ALLAH IN A MANNER THAT THEY WILL NOT

EVEN PERCEIVE IT.

Allah sets forth (another) Parable of two men: one of them dumb, with no power of any
sort: a wearisome burden is he to his master; whichever way he directs him, he brings
no good: is such a man equal with one who commands justice, and is on a Straight
Way?
[An-Nahl-76]

UNJUST ARE EQUATED WITH DUMB AND UTTERLY USELESS PEOPLE.

Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He
forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion: He instructs you, that ye may
receive admonition.
[An-Naha-90]

1. TO DO JUSTICE IS ALLAH’S ORDER.

O David! We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth: so judge thou between men
in Truth (and justice): nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee
from the Path of Allah: for those who wander astray from the Path of Allah, is a Penalty
Grievous, for that they forget the Day of Account.
[Sad-26]
1. TO DO JUSTICE ON EARTH IS TERMED AS ALLAH’S PATH AND THE
FAILURE WILL EARN GRIEVOUS PENALITY.
2. THOSE ON THE HELM OF AFFAIRS MUST ESTABLISH JUSTICE EVEEN
IF IT IS NOT IN CONFORMITY WITH THEIR PERSONAL LIKING.

We did aforetime send Messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story
We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was

not (possible) for any Messenger to bring a Sign except by the leave of Allah: but
when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in Truth and Justice, and
there perished, there and then, those who stood on Falsehoods.
[Gafir-78]

1. TO COMMAND TRUTH AND JUSTICE IS ALLAH’S WAY AND THOSE

WHO DO NOT FOLLOW THIS PATH ARE DESTINED TO PERISH.
2. THOSE WHO RESIST JUSTICE MAY BE ELIMINATED.

If two parties among the Believers fall into a quarrel, make ye peace between them:
but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds against the other, then fight ye (all)
against the one that transgresses until it complies with the Command of Allah; but if it
complies, then make peace between them with justice, and be fair: for Allah loves
those who are fair (and just).
[Al-Hujurat-9]

1. FIND OUT THE TRANGRESSOR AND BRING HIM TO FACE AND ACCEPT
JUSTICE EVEN IF YOU ALL HAVE TO FIGHT AGAINST HIM.
2. MATTER BETWEEN THE RIVAL GROUPS IS TO BE DECIDED WITH
JUSTICE AND IN A FAIR MANNER. ALLAH LOVES SUCH PEOPLE.

SUMMARY

TO DO JUSTICE IS ALLAH’S EXPRESS ORDER AND IS TERMED AS AN
