Materials are checked according to specifications and tasks


Appropriate tools and equipment are selected according to tasks requirements
Task is planned to ensure OH & S guidelines and procedures are followed
Electrical wiring/electronic circuits are correctly prepared for connecting/termination in
accordance with instructions and work site procedures

Steps in preparing for Termination/connection of electrical wiring/electronics circuits.
Materials
o Soldering lead
o Cables
o Wires
Tools
o Pliers
o Cutters
o Screw drivers
Equipments
o Soldering gun
o Multi-tester
CONDITIONS
The following resources must be provided:
o Simulated Classrooms with teaching and learning tools.
o Tools for measuring, cutting, drilling, assembling/disassembling, connecting.
o Tool set includes the following but not limited to screw drivers, pliers cutters
o Specification and Users Manual
Well ventilated and well lighted classroom, conducive to learning equipped with LCD
projector, projection screen, and whiteboard;
Audio-visual aids

METHODOLOGIES
The module will be delivered through:
interactive discussions;
demonstration in the classroom utilizing visual aids and other teaching materials to gain
the required attitude and knowledge; and
practical application to acquire the required skills and competencies.
Take home reading assignments may also be given from time to time.
ASSESSMENT METHOD
Assessment of learning outcomes includes written and oral scrutiny of the strength of
trainees understanding and knowledge of the fundamentals and applications of this
module.
Assessment must show that the candidate:
o undertook work safely and according to workplace and standard procedures
o used appropriate termination/ connection methods
o followed correct sequence in termination / connection process
o conducted testing of terminated connected electrical wiring/electronic circuits using
appropriate procedures and standards
Written quizzes and examination must be administered to check if the required learning
outcomes are achieved.
Recitation is encouraged through a scheme of problem and solution presentation of
students.
Demonstration with questioning must be given in order to simulate the activities, thus,
ensuring the trainees attainment of the required knowledge, skills, attitude and
competency. The instructor must provide the exercises.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Safety procedures in using tools are observed at all times and appropriate personal
protective equipment are used
All work undertaken safely in accordance with the workplace and standard procedures
Appropriate range of methods in termination/connection are used according to
specifications, manufacturers requirements and safety
Correct sequence of operation is followed
Accessories used are adjusted, if necessary
Confirm termination/connection undertaken successfully in accordance with job
specification

LO3. Test termination/ connections of electrical wiring/electronics circuits.


ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Testing of all completed termination/ connections of electric wiring/electronic circuits is
conducted for compliance with specifications and regulations using appropriate
procedures and equipment
Wiring and circuits are checked using specified testing procedures
Unplanned events or conditions are responded to in accordance with established
procedures
CONTENTS
Procedure for checking and testing completed termination/connections.
Procedure for trouble shooting faulty connections
CONDITIONS
