SINCE 1997/DESDE 1997
It is more than seven decades since a kid who later
become by father, loved the cycling world. This
world feed my child dreams, leaded my happy
times. Being able to face my life in cycling has been
a gift, a tribute to my history.
Today is my time to mature this legacy, adding new
blood and impossible technologies which would be
the proud of my ancestors.
I hope that the excitement and effort of several
generations arrives to every rider in each one of our
products.

Graphene the Last Technological Frontier

Graphene is a totally new material,
derived from graphite. Its basic structure is formed by carbon atoms set out in
a hexagonal shape. This creates layered
structures (like a honeycomb) of a thick
atom whose interrelation, along with
the Van der Waals forces, achieve a
material up to 200 times more resistant
than steel, and is extremely light.
This material exhibits enormous
mechanical resistance and some unique
electronic properties. Its extraordinary
properties and its potential technicalapplications have made graphene one of
the most active research fields in materials physics.

El grafeno es un material totalmente

nuevo, derivado del grafito, y tiene unas
propiedades fsicas y qumicas muy
interesantes. Su estructura bsica est
formada por tomos de carbono
dispues- tos de una forma hexagonal.
Ello da lugar a estructuras laminares
(forma de panal de abejas) de un tomo
de espesor, y cuyos enlaces covalentes
entre ellos, junto con las fuerzas de Van
der Waals, consiguen un material hasta
200 veces ms resisten- te que el acero
y de una extrema ligereza.
Este material exhibe una enorme
resistencia mecnica y unas propiedades electrnicas nicas. Sus extraordinarias propiedades y sus potenciales
aplicaciones tcnicas han hecho del
grafeno uno de los campos de investigacin ms activos en fsica de
materiales.

ingenieros involucrados en el desarrollo
de los productos Catlike 2015, se estrenan en el mercado los primeros productos con Nanofibras de Grafeno. Todos
los estudios y pruebas efectuadas

Aramid is a material used in aerospace and ballistic applications for

its strength properties. Mixinos
internal cage is a union between
aramid and graphene nano-fibers,
which has allowed to improve the
helmet's safety features while
maintaining minimum weight and
volume specifications.

are required, such as aerospace,
automotive and civil engineering. The sole of Whispers shoe
is a marriage of carbon and
graphene nano-fibers. This has

weight.

Since last year, the Catlike R+D team

has been collaborating with researchers
from the University of Granada to study
the performance of different materials
with cycling helmet shapes in the wind
tunnel located in CEAMA (Centro Andaluz, Spain.
The main variables of Wind Tunnel tests
are aerodynamics and ventilation.
Catlike used this data to develop RAPID,
a helmet that offers excellent performance and supreme aerodynamics
without losing ventilation.

Desde la primavera del ao pasado,

Catlike est colaborando con investigadores de la Universidad de Granada para
el estudio del comportamiento de
distintos materiales y formas del casco
de ciclismo en el tnel del viento ubicado en CEAMA (Centro Andaluz de Medio
Ambiente).
Las principales variables que han entrado en juego en los ensayos en el tunel
del viento son aerodinmica y ventilacin. El departamento de I+D+i de
Catlike se ha servido de estos datos
para trabajar en el RAPID, un casco que
ofrece un rendimiento ptimo, combinando de la mejor forma posible una
buena aerodinmica sin tener que
renunciar a la ventilacin.

de lite como ellos, es fundamental

T.T. helmets with a long tear shaped tail

are very aerodynamic in ideal conditions
where a rider is able to keep their head
straight and looking up at all times
during a race. But once a rider looks
down or to the side, the long tail sticks
out into the air and creates a lot of drag.
Recent research suggests that the best
design for a T.T. helmet where the rider
moves their head a lot is a shorter, more
rounded tail that is aerodynamic in all
conditions, not just when the riders
head is up. This is exactly what the
RAPID helmet is designed for:
maximum aerodynamics in real world
conditions.

Los cascos de contrarreloj con cola, dan

unos rendimientos aerodinmicos muy
buenos, cuando el ciclista adopta una
postura aerodinmica perfecta, sin
mover la cabeza. En cambio, especialmente en carrera largas, la mayora de
los ciclistas mueven la cabeza arriba y
abajo y tambin lateralmente, levantando la cola del casco. Esto hace que la
cola interfiera en el flujo de viento
disminuyendo el rendimiento aerodinmico. Se ha podido identificar a traves
de test en el tnel de viento una forma
ideal que para las diferentes inclinaciones de cabeza que adopta el ciclista es
ms eficiente: nace RAPID.

Ventilation
Ventilacin

Research suggests that if a cyclist can

keep their body temperature lower,
they are able to conserve more energy
for the race and perform better. The
RAPID is designed to allow maximum
ventilation without compromising the
overall aerodynamics of the helmet. By
channeling airflow over the front and
sides of the head and out the back,
RAPID is able to keep the head cool but
stay aerodynamic.
Evidentemente slo un buen casco no
gana la carrera, pero en cambio hay
aspectos en el RAPID que si son diferenciadores. El tema de la aerodinmica
que puede suponer algunos segundos
de ventaja entre un ciclista y otro,
adems, el RAPID incorpora unos
amplios orificios diseados especficamente para mejorar la ventilacin de la
zona superior y lateral de la cabeza. El
hecho de tener la cabeza ventilada s
que ayuda en gran medida a que el
ciclista no sufra golpes de calor y a
reducir su temperatura corporal de tal
forma que no se afecte su rendimiento
deportivo.

comfort in the occipital area of the skull.

The unique design of the Catlike

helmets is not only based on aesthetics.
The air intakes have been strategically
positioned so that any impact will aect
more than one nerve (CES). In the event
of a crash, the energy generated will
spread through the honeycomb-type
structure, significantly increasing the
head's safety.

esttico. Se ha privilegiado la ubicacin
de las tomas de aire de tal manera que
cualquier impacto afecte a ms de un
nervio (CES). En caso de choque, la
energa generada se dispersa en la
estructura aumentando exponencialmente la seguridad de la cabeza.

Dual Flow
The head is the main temperature
sensor in our body. Excessive heat can
cause symptoms of fatigue, dizziness
and even dehydration, for this reason
we have considered the needs of men
and women athletes, and designed the
Dual Flow system maximizing ventilation. 39 vents combined with the
internal channels provide constant
airflow inside the helmet, avoiding
overheating.
La cabeza es el principal sensor de
temperatura de nuestro cuerpo. Un
asunto para nada superficial ya que un
excesivo calor nos puede provocar
sntomas de fatiga, mareos e incluso
deshidratacin, Por todo esto, y teniendo muy en cuenta las necesidades del
deportista, se ha desarrollado el diseo
del sistema Dual Flow que ofrece una
ventilacin extrema. Nada ms y nada
menos que 39 agujeros que junto a los
canales internos favorecen la entrada
de un flujo de aire constante en el
interior del casco, evitando el sobrecalentamiento de la cabeza.

The Shell VD2.0 is an accessory that improves aerodynamics

and protection (in different weather conditions like cold, wind
or light rain) taking care of ventilation and airflow.
With the VD2.0 Shell, we have created the perfect accessory
for Mixino with Graphene Nantoch, it permits better aerodynamics, avoiding dehydration due to lack of ventilation. The
VD 2.0 Shell provides:
airflow, due to the 2 frontal intakes, which permits a
continues airflow in the lateral areas
ventilation, due to the openings in the back part of the
helmet, which make the air circulation possible.

El Caparazn VD2.0 es un accesorio que aporta aerodinmica y

proteccin (ante situaciones meteorolgicas adversas como fro,
viento y lluvias dbiles) cuidando ventilacin y transpiracin.
Con el Caparazn VD2.0 hemos querido crear un accesorio para
el Mixino con Graphene Nanotech que permitiese conseguir una
mayor aerodinmica evitando problemas de deshidratacin
debidos a la falta de refrigeracin. El Caparazn VD2.0 facilita:
- la ventilacin gracias a las entradas frontales que permiten un
flujo de aire constante en las zonas laterales.

The Whisper cycling shoe line was designed to maximize comfort without sacrificing performance. The Whisper shoes
have a wrap-around construction that
wraps your foot to hold it snug and push it
back into the heel where anti-slip lining
keeps the heel firmly in place. The toe box
is slightly wider, but not too wide - and can
actually expand a few millimeters extra
due to a small overlap near the base of the
tongue. Finally the Whisper shoe has a
small Velcro strap to give the rider extra
leverage to tighten down the toe area
during intense rides.

has sido diseada para maximizar el
confort sin sacrificar el rendimiento. Las

By adding graphene to Nylon, Catlike has
been able to boost stiffness and strength
without adding weight. The combination is
a first for cycling shoes. The sole is
ergonomically shaped to better match the
shape of a cyclist's foot to boost comfort.
The tread is designed for a strong grip up
in steep and wet sections.

design 3 different thickness areas in
these socks, depending on the fuction
of each zone: breathability in the instep,
freshness in the sole and durability in
toe cap and heel.

cotton, it won't wrinkle, shrink or fade.
Supplex is also as strong as it is soft
-resisting abrasions, punctures and
tears. It's also breathable and odor-,
wind- and water-resistant. When
Supplex does get wet, it dries in a
flashdrying faster than cotton by a
whopping (56 minutes).

Hollow-core fibre technology provides
