Karimnagar, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Prakasam, Khammam , Kurnool ,
YSR Kadapa, Rangareddy, Chittoor, Krishna, Guntur, Srikakulam and
Visakhapatnam.
ORDER:
Government have been reviewing the seasonal conditions from time to time in
the State during the South West Monsoon 2011. During the South West Monsoon Period
(1.06.2011 to 30.09.2011), the State has received an average rainfall of 532. 7 mm as
against normal rainfall of 624.1 mm, with a deviation of () 15% . Several mandals
spread over 20 districts have received deficit rainfall of above (-)20% . This deficit
rainfall has resulted in damage to standing rain fed crops due to moisture stress in more
than 15 lakh hectares as reported by the Department of Agriculture.

The District Collectors have reported that Certain Mandals in their districts
received scanty / deficit rainfall with dry-spells resulting in reduction of sown area and
moisture stress to the crops sown. The District Collectors of Anathapur, Nalgonda ,
Karimnagar, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Prakasam, Khammam , Kurnool , YSR Kadapa,
Rangareddy ,Chittoor , Krishna, Guntur, Srikakulam, and Visakhapatnam have
submitted proposals for declaration of mandals as Drought affected in their Districts.

Government after careful examination have decided to declare the 456 mandals
[as in Annexure-II] in 15 districts of Anathapur (63), Nalgonda (52) , Karimnagar (50),
Medak (43), Mahabubnagar (41) Prakasam (38) Khammam (31), ,Kurnool (29), YSR
Kadapa (28), Rangareddy (26), Chittoor (13), Krishna(13), Guntur (11), Srikakulam (10),
and Visakhapatnam (08) as drought affected mandals.

The District Collectors concerned shall ensure deletion of the notified
municipal/urban areas and areas falling under permanent assured irrigation sources
.Urban mandals which are not declared as drought affected, shall be treated on par with
drought affected mandals for the purpose of drinking water. The District Collectors shall
issue notification in the District Gazette as mentioned in Annexure-I
(P.T.O)

action.

NOTIFICATION

In the circumstances reported by the respective District Collectors, the


Government declare that drought exists during the South West Monsoon during the
current year 2011 in the 456 mandals annexed to this order. The concerned District
Collectors are requested to take necessary further action and notify the specific
mandals/specific areas in the mandal in the District Gazette to enable farmers to avail
credit facilities and to take up relief operations. The concerned District Collector shall
ensure deletion of the notified Municipal/Urban areas and areas falling under
permanent assured irrigation sources where water is being supplied for crops from
drought affected mandals though for purpose of drinking water only they shall be
treated on par with drought affected mandals.
The concerned District Collectors are requested to furnish (10) copies of the
District Gazette Notification to the Government.

ORDER:
Government have been reviewing the seasonal conditions from time to time
in the State during the South West Monsoon 2011. During the South West Monsoon
Period (1.06.2011 to 30.09.2011) the State has received an average rainfall of 532.7 mm
as against normal rainfall of 624.1 mm, with a deviation of () 15%. More than 450
mandals spread over 20 districts have received deficit rainfall of above (-)20% . This
deficit rainfall has resulted in damage to standing rain fed crops due to moisture
stress in more than 15 lakh hectares as reported by the Department of Agriculture.
Accordingly in the G.O. 1st read above, orders were issued declaring 456 mandals in
15 districts as drought affected.

In the references 2nd to 5th read above, the District Collectors of Chittoor,
Warangal, Adilabad, Karimnagar and West Godavari have reported that
Certain Mandals in their districts received scanty / deficit rainfall with dry-spells
resulting in damage to standing rainfed crops due to moisture stress and submitted
proposals for declaration of mandals as Drought Affected in their Districts.

Government after careful examination have decided to declare the 99
mandals [as in Annexure-II] in 5 districts of Chittoor (36), Warangal (34),
Adilabad (20), Karimnagar (5) and West Godavari (4) as drought affected
mandals.

The District Collectors concerned shall ensure deletion of the notified
municipal/urban areas and areas falling under permanent assured irrigation sources.
Urban mandals which are not declared as drought affected, shall be treated on par
with drought affected mandals for the purpose of drinking water. The District
Collectors shall issue notification in the District Gazette as mentioned in Annexure-I
5.
The Collectors concerned are requested to take immediate further necessary
action.

NOTIFICATION

In the circumstances reported by the respective District Collectors, the


Government declare that drought exists during the South West Monsoon during the
current year 2011 in the 99 mandals annexed to this order. The concerned District
Collectors are requested to take necessary further action and notify the specific
mandals/specific areas in the mandal in the District Gazette to enable farmers to avail
credit facilities and to take up relief operations. The concerned District Collector shall
ensure deletion of the notified Municipal/Urban areas and areas falling under
permanent assured irrigation sources where water is being supplied for crops from
drought affected mandals though for purpose of drinking water only they shall be
treated on par with drought affected mandals.
The concerned District Collectors are requested to furnish (10) copies of the
District Gazette Notification to the Government.
