s a Shop worker I am aware of the unacceptable pressure being applied to staff of

all grades to deliver, whilst still being expected to raise a smile! Staff expected to do
the jobs of 2 or 3 people!
I know the issues you face:
Low hour flexi contracts - you need more permanent, regular and full time hours.
The need for a Living Wage, not a minimum wage
End the erosion of terms and conditions in distribution
Safety and Support in the workplace - abuse is not part of the job
A better work life balance.
Less aggressive absence management policies
Partnership Agreements that work in favour of you.

For a real living wage not a poverty minimum

wage, end lower youth rates

It is imperative that USDAW take up these issues on your behalf and act upon them
swiftly and effectively, pro-actively challenging employers and lobbying the Government at every opportunity to make a difference for YOU our members in the workplace.
Democracy, Transparency and Accountability will always sit at the top of my agenda and
I will endeavour to make sure that USDAW always works for YOU its members.
