O sistema AGORA-NG Service Manager disponibiliza facilidades

de gesto de servio extremo a extremo em redes Netb@nd .

Permite a automatizao do processo de proviso de servios
(flow-through service provisioning) e facilita a rpida deteco
e identificao de problemas ao nvel do servio.

AGORA-NG Service Manager system enables end-to-end

service management on Netb@nd networks. It facilitates

the implementation of automatic service delivering (flowthrough service provisioning) and the rapid identification
of service problems.

Este sistema necessita da instalao prvia do AGORA-NG

Resource Manager para funcionar correctamente, dado ser este
componente que executa as configuraes na rede.

AGORA-NG Service Manager runs on top of AGORA-NG

Resource Manager and requires its installation to work
appropriately.

Arquitectura / Architecture
O sistema AGORA-NG Service Manager segue a arquitectura

AGORA-NG , a qual est baseada em middleware J2EE, CORBA

e Web Services, e usa tecnologias JAVA, XML/XSLT e IGU webbased.

AGORA-NG Service Manager system follows AGORA-NG

architecture which is based on J2EE, CORBA and Web Services
middleware, and uses JAVA, XML/XSLT and web-based GUI
technologies.

Este sistema constitudo por uma infraestrutura de componentes

independentes do servio, que forma a baseline para correr os
Service Packs. Estes servios so aplicaes web vocacionadas
para gerir servios de transporte dependentes da tecnologia de
rede gerida.

This system is a service agnostic component-based infrastructure

that is the baseline for running plugged-in Service Packs.
Service Packs are service manager web-based applications
for managing transport services in a specific network technology.

Service Inventory
O sistema AGORA-NG Service Manager inclui um mdulo
de cadastro de servio (Service Inventory) que armazena
o catlogo de servios e as instncias de servio, assim
como a sua configurao e estado.
O catlogo define os tipos de servios suportados pelo
sistema, utilizando service descriptors. Estes so templates
que descrevem os servios com base nos recursos de rede
que os implementam.

AGORA-NG Service Manager system provides a Service

Inventory repository where the service catalog and service

instances are stored, and that keeps service instance
configuration and state.
The service catalog defines all types of supported managed
services using service descriptors. They are templates that
describe services as a composition of network resources.

O mdulo Service Order Management constitui o crebro

da automatizao do processo de proviso de servios nas
redes Netb@nd. Este inclui uma mquina de BPM que
controla a execuo das tarefas requeridas para aprovisionar
e activar o servio na rede. Este mdulo processa as ordens
(service orders) recebidas da camada Access Layer (IGU
interface e/ou B2B GW interface) e efectua as seguintes
tarefas:

Service Order Management module is the core of flowtrough service provisioning. It includes a business process
engine that controls the execution of tasks required for
delivering services. This module receives service orders
coming from the access layer (GUI interface and/or B2B
GW interface) and processes them by the following tasks:

Actualiza o estado administrativo do servio no Service

Inventory;

Gera pedidos de reserva (resource orders), atribuindo

recursos de rede ao servio ou libertando esses recursos
para o AGORA-NG Resource Manager;

Invoca o Service Activation para activar/desactivar servios

na rede.
As operaes disponveis so: Service Provisioning, Service
Activation, Service De-Activation, Service Modify e Service
Cancel.
O mdulo Service Activation recebe pedidos de activao/
desactivao de servios na rede. Este decompe cada
servio em recursos lgicos e solicita a sua activao/
desactivao ao AGORA-NG Resource Manager.

Updating the administrative state of service instances

in the Service Inventory;

Generating resource orders to AGORA-NG Resource

Manager by resource provisioning (assigning resources
to service instance) or by resource releasing (releasing
resources from service instance);

Invoking Service Activation for activating/de-activating

services in the network.

Typical service orders requests are: Service Provisioning,

Service Activation, Service De-activation, Service Modify
and Service Cancel.
Service Activation receives the requests for resource
activation/de-activation, performs service decomposition
on resources and sends resource orders to AGORA-NG
Resource Manager.

Service Assurance

O mdulo Service Problem Management actualiza em tempo

real o estado operacional do servio, com base na informao
de alarmes recebida do AGORA-NG Alarm Manager.
Disponibiliza facilidades base de teste de servio e de
reporting de alarmes e desempenho ao nvel do servio. No
caso de se pretenderem funcionalidades avanadas devem
ser utilizados, em complemento, os produtos AGORA-NG
Alarm Manager Service Impact e AGORA-NG Network
Performance Manager.

Based on the information received from the AGORA-NG Alarm

Manager, the Service Problem Management module
upgrades, in real-time, the service status.
The Service Problem Management module provides baseline
alarm and performance reporting facilities at the service
level. For enhanced capabilities, AGORA-NG Alarm Manager
Service Impact and AGORA-NG Network Performance
Manager should be used with AGORA-NG Service Manager.
