so! Theres an impressive (and growing)
array of ciders available in Alberta and
they run the gamut from dry to sweet,
fruity to floral. Theres a cider for every
palate on every pallet!

Finnrivers Dry Hopped cider is, as you might

expect, not your typical cider. Not too sweet, and

more floral than apple-y, this cider is a pretty good
bet for those looking to branch out from beer.

J.K. Scrumpy Northern Neighbour (650mL | $11.10): I
love this naturally sweet Saskatoon/Washington apple
blend. Fun fact, Saskatoon berries are not berries at all
but members of the pomme family. Perfect for that hot

Rekordilig Strawberry Lime (500mL | $3.90):
I have been waiting patiently for almost
three years for this cider to make it across
the pond. I first came across this tasty treat
while adventuring in London, England. Not
quite as sweet as some of the other flavoured
ciders. Its a helpful cross-over for those from

Southern France drinks gallons of ros in the spring and
summer for good reason. They are crisp, refreshing, and
have the ability to pair with nearly any food you can
come up with. Another point in favour of ross is that
they are very often inexpensive.
Every wine region will have some type of ros, with
Canada (especially BC) showcasing every style from off
dry, to dry but fruity, to a crisp, refreshing style. Spain
also makes some great offers that are balanced between
a nice juicey fruitiness to crisp & refreshing. If you
want a classic French ros pick up a bottle from the

cocktail is making a comeback for very good reason.
Its like Sangria, but if youre not in the mood for wine,
this gin-based liqueur is your next go to for
summer pitcher patio drinks,
and is just as pretty.

Is there another product with as much

history as moonshine? Yup. Perhaps not
quite as colourful, though. Moonshine
is only 4 ingredients: corn, sugar, yeast
& water. Historically corn was chosen
because it could be purchased in large
quantities without alerting authorities
during prohibition. Although moonshine
fell out of favour after prohibition ended, its back in fashion in a less traditional form. Other ingredients are now
added to appeal to the cocktail crowd
and a wider demographic.
