Welcome to the first Library Lovers News for 2015. Hopefully everyone has
had a lovely Christmas and New Years break and is now back into the
swing of things.
2015 is gearing up to be an exciting year for the SDRC library service. The Inside this issue:

Just a few of the things happening in the next twelve months are Library
Lovers Day, Book Week, National Simultaneous Storytime and Library &
Information Week. There are also our regularly scheduled events and
activities such as Storytime, Baby Rhymetime, school holiday activities,
and author visits. Keep an eye out for some quirky fun displays for things
such as International Talk Like a Pirate Day, Dr Seuss birthday and the
Mad Hatters tea party.
Our Facebook page is updated regularly with details of events being held,
and we also have a Pinterest page if you would like to have a look.

Help us celebrate Library Lovers Day. Library Lovers Day is an initiative of the Australian Library
and Information Association (ALIA).
We have a Pinterest board of Blind Dates with a Book which can be found at http://www.pinterest.com/

Choose one of the books which appeals to you, and follow the link to our catalogue where you can reserve the book for yourself. To log into the catalogue, use the borrower ID on your card, which is found
under the barcode, and your PIN, which is the first four letters of your surname in capital letters.

The Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery has a collection of


books which have been added to the SDRC Library catalogue. Covering a range of subjects, these books are now
available for loan using your library card.
To borrow one of the art gallery books, speak to the people
staffing the desk in the gallery, and they will arrange to
have the book put onto your library card.
When returning the book place it into the library returns
chute as you would any library item, and library staff will
arrange for the book to be returned to the gallery.
