NEEDED ON SET
My Strengths
13/01/15
Drama School Tasks:
Direction
During filming this week when I
was first AD I felt that I took
direction and gave direction very
clearly and I feel this is something
that as an actor you need in your
skill set.
Levi:
Communication
Unique
I believe that my
communication with the
company when we have been
working together on the
filming process, I have enjoyed
it and we have been positive
towards one another and
communicating clearly;
resulting in a lot more getting
done.
Unusual
Eccentric
Physical and circus
Skilled
Quirky
Memorising
Captivating
Have played versatile roles
Good on camera for TV
Stage combat and fighting
Funny and hilarious
Indicative
When we have had audition prep
this week we haven't done
anything that I think has
benefited me we have just been
talking. So I took my indicative
and started my applications and
also looking into monologues that
are more comical. I feel that
during this course which is
independent as well I felt that I
started to use my time wisely,
which I may not have in the past.

emotions
Be dierent to how you are in your interview, not yourself.
Warm performer the audience love
Essence about you when you play

Filming:
A Film in 5 Minutes
We waited for Gav to come out of a meeting and the. We started filming, I was testing out aptitude on
my camera for the documentary and I was also hair and makeup for SAMs and ambers shoot. It was
then me and Daniella's turn to act which was exciting, I felt that I was really in the mood and
emotion for the scene and working with Daniella who is professional and I bounced o her energy
when performing to camera as well. When we were taken out the room Alex was being nice and chatty
to us and asking how it's going but I was in that frame of mind of the scene I didn't want to be happy
and cheerful. I felt that the scene went really well and I felt it was a strong on screen performance
from me as well watching back the rushes. I felt in the moment and I didn't let the cameras or the
crew phrase me, I felt relaxed and in the moment with Daniella which helped because she was also in
the moment with me.
I loved my first experience of being on screen I felt that the shots were nice from Levi and I felt the
acting was also consistent with both Daniella and I and Gav said it wS the strongest shoot for all
angles. We went onto Erol and Connor where I was sound, I tired to angle it like others didn't but it
made noises sometimes and the mic was broken but I worked with it. Gav said on the close ups I can
favour the on screen actor so I don't cut the words of drift the sound of the coming and and out of the
lines.
I really liked filming today and getting an opportunity to get more roles and responsibilities. We also
got a new script to learn and that was scary because there was more and there is also movement and a
theme. I came up with balaclavas and doing a heist for Lewis and I but we are also with Harriet so I
don't know who she wants to work with and idea they come up with.
-Notes:
SCENE
2
ACTORS.
Harriet LEVI.
ROLE
Camera operator
Cut out some of Harriet's head from the shot. Lots of the chair. Harriet needed to be more towards
the camera. Blinked a lot LEVI close up. The second take of LEVI close up was better. Bobbed up
when Harriet when to sit down, could be smoother. Harriet's chin not in. Not in focus a lot, bobbing
of the camera not as smooth. Nice reacting from Harriet. Camera not smooth following Harriet.
More emotion with Harriet. Could have more of Levi in the dirty shot only hair.
3.
Charley Lewis.
Camera assistant
Zooming bad first two takes. Charley convincing. Lewis over acting. Nice reacting at the end for
Lewis. Nice dirty shot of Lewis. Natural for charley. Too much of Lewis in the dirty shot and take 4.
Lewis sounds more believe able take 5. Nice line Charleys emotions ending. Slate 6 see angry in Lewis
eyes and emotions. Pick up too much of Charleys head in shot. Cuts o the eyebrows on slate 7.
4.
Erol Alex.
Continuity
Jogged camera panning up. Nice reaction from Erol at the end. Not all of erols face in shot, so out of
shot. Erols face not in shot, bottom right corner. Blinking a lot Alex close up. Changing eyes a lot. Not
all of Alex's head in shot.
5.

Sam Amber.
Makeup
A Film in 5 Minutes
A lot in SAMs eyes, what's the hand doing. Not in focus on SAMs
close up. Believe able for Sam. Focus on hand more than face. Not all
of ambers face in shot. A lot of eye flicking. Good believe able in the
eyes and voice.
6.
Daniella julia.
Actor
Thought shots were nice in focus. Close up was fine switched eyes a
few times good emotion. Daniella really believe able nice emotion eyes
blinked a few times but worked with character.
7.
Erol Connor.
Sound
Erol too theatrical. Connor eyebrows too much. Dierent mood feel.
Closing the line - make them look like they are looking at the right
direction, the camera operator needs to be front onto camera but
looking at the closer eye to the camera.
GAVINS
notes:
Find the subtlety in the script
Cut the side of Harriet's head in two shot
To the left of Levi's close up there was a lot of white move
camera.
Light change in shot
Focus wasn't 100%
Wrong starting image with the zooming out on cups.
Nice panning up from the cards
Sound turn it down
Nice shot on Amber and nice performance
Syfi back ground on Daniella and me
Nice two shot
Most consistent scene acting and shots
Good fragmentation on your voice
Very good inside of it, relaxed inside of it.
Shot was nice

Company Strengths
Script learning
No one has forgotten their lines yet
when doing filming and even
though we are given them one or
two days in advance its a very hard
task to be able to memorise and
decliner a filmed scene within these
schedules which I felt that the
company has done eciently.
Teamwork
As a company we have
collaborated well together
to proved shot scenes for
film as a crew and we have
had amazing teamwork
skills in order to do this
eciently and work
together.
Working with a
director
We have been working so
well with gavin and Lewis
said because it reminds
him of 'old miskin' which
is sad thought but it's true.
It's nice to work with a
director who knows us so
well and we work well with
because we have had shows
and history together so I
think that is a big strength
of our company. We are
giving and receiving respect.

Company Weaknesses
Auditions prep
We have done so much
talking this week and it
might not be our fault as a
company but we could still
be more independent and
say let's help each other out
on monologues, but none of
us feel confident enough
with the monologues to
perform then.
Confidence

Filming:
I was looking forward to shooting the stick and stone scene today but
we had little time to do this so we went over section 3 of the bible and
looked at Levi and Daniella's chosen scenes.
Levi- Girl interrupted:
Strong performance from Jolie
She is very in character
Good confrontational scene
Fierce performance embodying a character away from her.

Audition Prep:
I so could have gone home at lunch because even though we were bonding as a company doing film
and TV quizzes I expected Carleigh to come in and set us something but instead we went up and
spoke about applications and headshots and monologues. I want to start getting a director to look at
my work so I've got Denise to do this because she is my monologue director. I need to be o book
completely and confident with my contemporary and find a character song.
